- Summary: The driver side visor hangs in the face of the driver. It will not stay up against the window, so it blocks the drivers ability to see. The driver must take a hand off the steering wheel to hold it out of the way, and have it block the blazing sun so that she can see the road. This is very unsafe. The passenger side visor fell right off, so the sun shines right in the driver's eyes from that side of the windshield. Both need to be replaced, and/or have their mechanisms replaced so they are safe to use and don't block the driver's vision.

- Summary: TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 SUBARU IMPREZA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HESITATED TO START. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS, THE VEHICLE STARTED. THE FAILURE RECURRED MULTIPLE TIMES INTERMITTENTLY. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THERE WAS A SMELL OF FUEL FROM THE FUEL TANK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT THE WIRE THAT WAS ATTACHED TO THE FUEL PUMP HAD A SHORT AND CAUSED THE FUEL PUMP TO MELT. THE FUEL PUMP AND THE WIRING HARNESS WERE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 97,000.

The ball spring inside the switch may break, reducing the strength of the ignition switch. If this occurs, the weight on the key ring and certain road conditions could cause the ignition switch to move out of the run position to the accessory position, turning off the engine.
- Consequence: The engine turning off unexpectedly can increase the risk of a crash. If a crash occurs under this condition, the air bag may not deploy, increasing the risk of injury.

Exposure to certain contaminants may cause the brake light switch to malfunction, preventing the brake lights from illuminating and also preventing keyless ignition vehicles from starting and CVT/automatic transmissions from being able to be shifted out of Park.
- Consequence: Brake lights that do not illuminate properly will not alert other drivers that the vehicle is slowing or stopping, increasing the risk of crash.

- Remedy: Subaru will notify owners, and dealers will test the brake system by depressing the brake pedal and inspecting for brake fluid leaks. If no brake fluid seepage is observed, the affected areas will be rustproofed with anti-corrosion wax. If brake fluid seepage is observed, the brake lines will be replaced followed by rustproofing with anti-corrosion wax. These services will be performed free of charge. Although you mentioned that the shifter throw is a bit long, it's clear that you're still having a great time behind the wheel. You made a wise choice in opting for a car that was built 100% in Japan, as it's a testament to its quality. The dark gray paint looks stunning without any orange peel. It's understandable that the base model car has some plastic parts, but overall, the interior looks good. It's fantastic to hear that you love your Subie! Hey there! I've been on the lookout for a new car for a few years now. Luckily, my job takes me all over the country, so I've had the chance to test drive quite a few rentals. After much consideration, I decided to go with the Subaru Impreza Outback Sport. It's the perfect fit for my lifestyle and budget. One of my must-haves was all-wheel drive, and I'm happy to say that this car delivers. Plus, the fuel economy is great, which is important since I'm always on the road. I've already put over 7k miles on it in just two months, and I'm really impressed with how well it handles on ice and snow. The interior is pretty quiet, although rougher roads can cause some road noise. Overall, I'm really happy with my choice!

I recently sold my Honda Pilot to get a 5-door Subie due to a longer commute after moving. I have to say, everyone was right about the stereo - it's not great. However, I was expecting this after reading the reviews here. The ride is comfortable and the handling is decent, much better than the Pilot but not as good as my previous Prelude SH. The power is decent too. The gas mileage is 27mpg mostly freeway, which is a little low, but I wanted the AWD so it's a trade-off. I've only had it for 2 weeks, but I have no regrets about getting the Subie. I'll update once the weather gets wet in the Fall.

I have owned three Subarus, including a 97 Outback and a 2004 Forester. However, I am disappointed with the design of the 2010 Outback Sport. The driver seat height adjuster requires frequent pumping and is ill-designed, causing inadvertent contact that lowers the seat. Additionally, the front headrests are raked too far forward, causing constant head contact that is both annoying and distracting while driving. Despite bringing these issues to Subaru's attention, they have not been corrected. Furthermore, the silver outboard dash vents reflect in the outside rear view mirrors, requiring me to paint them flat black. Lastly, the radio is mediocre. Overall, I believe that these design flaws should be addressed by Subaru to improve the quality of their vehicles.

This car is a fantastic purchase for the money. The overall value is excellent, and the body design is mainstream. The all-wheel-drive system is unsurpassed, and the drivetrain is more than adequate. While the interior seating may look cheap, it is actually very comfortable. The driver's side seat has a barber chair-style manual crank up and down function that works beautifully. Although the radio is sub-par, the rest of this car is a class leader. When comparing features and cost, it is an unbeatable value.

If you're looking for an AWD car, I would definitely recommend doing some research and checking out other options. While the Impreza wasn't the right fit for me, there are plenty of other AWD cars out there that might be a better fit for you. It's worth investing in a car that you love! This is a long term rental replacing a Mazda 3. The Impreza feels quite different, more like a Buick, with a floating sensation. Although I'm used to a hard suspension with precise steering, I don't have it here. The car floats over the road, which is nice for long trips, but not as much fun on twisty roads. The suspension in turns feels every bump and skips instead of holding the car in place. The OEM tyres are not great for handling. The Auto transmission doesn't always hold a gear or downshift on its own when going down the hill. The manual shift also doesn't hold the gear (even though 2 is shown on the dash). The engine has good power, but the transmission reduces it. Inside, the car is very comfortable with a good layout and nice equipment.

The car was great up until the 4700 mile marker, but unfortunately experienced a Ringland failure which caused it to break down. It has been at the dealership for 3 weeks now, awaiting repair. I have read about widespread issues with the engine, which the manufacturer is denying. After this experience, I don't have much faith in the car. It's disappointing to see that WRC caliber STI's are a thing of the past when they are offered in factory guise.

I recently purchased my first Subaru because I live in a colder climate and have a 25 mile commute to work every day. I wanted a vehicle with AWD, but still wanted a car, not a truck-style SUV. After researching the market and reading reviews, I chose this car and was very excited at first. However, I have been experiencing some inconsistencies with the vehicle that have been frustrating me. For example, I was surprised to find out that the car does not have automatic locks or headlights, but it does have heated seats and wipers. Although I received a free Sirius package, the sound quality is not great, as others have also mentioned. Additionally, the wipers, even when heated, tend to freeze up frequently, both in the front and back.
