1995 Dodge Stealth problems
The Mitsubishi 3000GT is a front-engine, all-wheel/front-wheel drive grand touring/sports car manufactured and marketed by Mitsubishi from 1990 until 2000 over three different generations. Manufactured in a three-door hatchback coupé body style in Nagoya, Japan, the 2+2 four-seaters were marketed in the Japanese domestic market (JDM) as the GTO, and globally as 3000GT. In North America, it was sold both as the Mitsubishi 3000GT (1991–1999) and the Dodge Stealth (1991–1996), a badge engineered, mechanically identical captive import. As a collaborative effort between Chrysler and Mitsubishi Motors, Chrysler was responsible for the Stealth's exterior styling.
The car was based on Mitsubishi's Sigma/Diamante and retained their transverse mounted 3-liter, 24-valve V6 engines and front-wheel-drive layout. The GTO's engines were naturally aspirated or with twin-turbochargers and were also available with active aerodynamics (automatically adjusting front and rear spoilers), four-wheel-steering, full-time all-wheel-drive and adaptive suspension.
Mitsubishi marketed a retractable hardtop variant, which were engineered and converted from coupé models in California by ASC, and sold as the GT Spyder or VR4 Spyder for model years 1993–1995. These were the first fully automated retractable hardtop marketed since the 1959 Ford Skyliner.
The JDM model took its name from the Galant GTO, a two-door hardtop coupé marketed by the company in the early 1970s, which in turn took its name from the Ferrari 250 GTO, short for Gran Turismo Omologata – "Omologata" signifying that it met motorsport homologation requirements.

Common 1995 Dodge Stealth problems
The 1995 Dodge Stealth, a budget supercar developed in collaboration with Mitsubishi, was known for its performance features and technology. However, this cutting-edge technology also contributed to one of the car's major problems.
The Dodge Stealth's advanced technology, while impressive, was prone to issues and expensive to fix. The R/T Turbo model, in particular, was equipped with many supercar features that still seem advanced today. These included active front and rear spoilers that could raise and lower at 50 mph, an active suspension that firmed up and lowered the ride, four-wheel steering, and all-wheel drive with a unique viscous coupling and aluminum driveshaft. Although these features made the Stealth a technological marvel, they also made the car heavy and expensive to maintain.
The Stealth's all-wheel-drive system was identified as a potential source of problems. Car and Driver tested the Stealth and the Nissan 300ZX in a 1991 comparison, and while both cars delivered similar performance levels and posted identical lap times, the Stealth felt heavier and disconnected due to the extra 250 pounds it carried from the advanced tech.
Another common problem reported by Dodge Stealth owners was electrical issues. For instance, one owner reported that their car would lose power when trying to start the car, with no lights or any power at all.
In summary, the 1995 Dodge Stealth was a high-performance car that suffered from issues related to its advanced technology and electrical system. The car's all-wheel-drive system and cutting-edge features made it heavy and expensive to maintain, while electrical problems, such as intermittent power loss, were also reported by owners.

Hi there! I'm so glad to hear that you've had a great experience with your car! It's awesome to hear that it's been so dependable for you, even after 6 months of ownership. The handling and power sound really impressive, and it's great to hear that it turns heads wherever you go. It's understandable that a car of this age and mileage might need a few repairs, but it's great to hear that overall you're really pleased with its performance. It sounds like you got a great deal for the money, and I can tell that you're a proud owner. I hope you continue to enjoy your car for a long time to come!

It's been quite reliable. I've only needed to replace the clutch for the air-conditioner, driver side window regulator, and an o2 sensor. It's very fun to drive and handles exceptionally well. I would love to buy another if they still made them.

I purchased this car at the end of summer 2002 and I have to admit, it's a masterpiece! I have never driven a car like this before, even though I previously owned a '92 Corvette and a '90 Camaro. The specs show that this car is faster than a 911 Turbo in the 60. The Stealth TT is the most comfortable, affordable, and attractive car for the money. The AWD and 4WS systems complement the car in hard turns and passing, and when those twin turbos kick in... hold on! When it comes to maintenance prices, well, let's just say it's a bit more than a Grand Prix and much less than a Vette. I rate this car 5+/5 on the road and track.

I really love this car! Even before I bought it, people would come up to me and ask what kind of car it is. I always proudly tell them it's a Dodge Stealth! It's so much fun to drive on the highway because it has a lot of power and can pass almost anyone (except the cops, of course). This car is not only good-looking and fast, but it's also a real chick-magnet! Trust me ;)

The car is a lot of fun to drive and can handle any corner with ease. It is surprisingly comfortable on long trips, although the back seat may not be the most spacious. With 80,000 miles, I have had no mechanical problems. The only minor issues I have experienced are the transmission lagging after slowing down, unless you come to a complete stop, and the base 3.0L engine being a little underpowered. The car handles excellently, but the ride can be a bit hard. I would recommend that individuals under 40 consider purchasing this car.

I got a Dodge Stealth because I wanted to impress some people. And it did just that. And I still have it in my garage and it still runs well. I guess the better you treat any car, the longer it will last. My Stealth has about 80,000 miles on it and it is still going strong!
