2022 Maserati Levante problems
The Maserati Levante (Tipo M161) was an executive crossover SUV produced by Italian manufacturer Maserati at the Mirafiori factory in Turin from 2016 to 2024. The Levante went on sale in Europe in May 2016, and in North America in September 2016, remaining on sale into 2024. Production of the Levante ceased by the end of March 2024, commemorated with the release of a top-spec 424BHP special edition.
The Levante was named after a warm, easterly wind that blows in the western Mediterranean Sea, southern France, down to the Strait of Gibraltar. The name of the wind, in turn, comes from the Latin word "levare", which means "to rise". Its design is based on the Kubang concept car that debuted at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show.

- Summary: The contact owns a 2022 Maserati Levante. The contact stated that while depressing the accelerator pedal after being at a stop sign or stopped at a traffic light, the vehicle hesitated and jerked. No warning lights were illuminated. The contact then stated that after taking the vehicle to a local dealer for a taillight recall repair and driving at an unknown speed, the service light was illuminated. The vehicle was then taken to Maserati of Newport Beach (1100 West Coast Hwy, Newport Beach, CA 92663) for a routine oil change and the service department was made aware of the failure. The contact was informed that the thermostat housing and coolant hose needed to be replaced. Additionally, the contact was made aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V872000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired and remained at the dealer awaiting parts. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 2,000.

- Summary: Maserati North America, Inc. (Maserati) is recalling certain 2021 Quattroporte, Ghibli, 2021-2022 Levante, and 2022 MC20 vehicles. The fuel line sensor housing may crack and leak fuel.
- Consequence: A fuel leak may cause an engine stall, increasing the risk of a crash. A fuel leak also increases the risk of fire in the presence of an ignition source.
- Remedy: Dealers will replace the fuel line sensor housing, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 17, 2021. Owners may contact Maserati customer service at 1-877-696-2737. Maserati's number for this recall is 442.

Congratulations on owning your Levante for 2 months now! It's great to hear that you really love it and that you get compliments all the time about its looks. While it may have taken you a while to get used to some of the quirky design features, like the lack of controls for the phone or stereo on the steering wheel, it sounds like you've found a lot to appreciate. The comfortable seats in front and back, great riding and steering, good cargo space, gorgeous looks inside and out, and of course that sexy growl of the engine are all high marks. It's understandable that outward visibility can be kind of restricted and fuel economy isn't the best, but overall it sounds like you're extremely pleased with your Levante. Thank you for sharing your experience and comparison with your previous Range Rover Sport, it's always helpful to hear from someone who has owned both. Enjoy your drives in your Levante!

I’ve owned every high end SUV’s. This is as good as many but better than most! It’s a 2018 purchased new and now has 26,000. Just put new tires on it. I plan on keeping it awhile, I usually trade ever two years or less but plan on keeping this one!

Awesome car to drive! I would highly recommend getting the sports package instead of the base model. It's definitely worth the extra cost for the ultimate Maserati experience.

The interior is fantastic! The hand-stitched soft leather is a real treat, and the seats are incredibly comfortable. The exhaust sounds amazing, like a Ferrari, which is no surprise since the engines are built by them. It's also very agile and easy to handle. The technology is top-notch and user-friendly, making it a breeze to operate. Plus, it has off-road capability thanks to the adjustable air suspension and hill descent control.

Overall the car is nice. The performance is good, although it feels like the turbo lags when starting to accelerate. The engine is always wanting to be pushed. Sport mode is fun. The exhaust noise and climate control(fans) make the noise level a bit unpleasant. I was sold on the exterior styling and a short test drive. Also liked the idea there are not many of them on the street. Had I had more time to test drive the car, I would not have leased it. There are many good options at this price level. Now I am upside down on a lease and will be regretting my decision for the next three years.

The paint on my car looked beautiful at first, but unfortunately, after driving it for only 5 months and 5,066 miles, I noticed over 30 chips in the paint. Additionally, I have experienced some issues with the stereo, front tires rubbing, and a rattling noise at 20 miles an hour. Despite these issues, the car has good acceleration once it gets going. However, at 70 miles an hour, I can feel the road through the steering wheel and gas pedal. The brakes squeak, but they do stop the car quickly. Although I have been told that I am the only person experiencing these issues, I am hopeful that they can be resolved. I was even presented with a solution to trade it in for a better Maserati, but unfortunately, I would lose $20,000 in the process. Overall, I would recommend this car with caution and suggest doing thorough research before making a purchase.

Avoid purchasing this car. Despite only driving it for less than two weeks, the engine light has already turned on. This car has proven to be a poor investment.

I love the beautiful design and solid performance of my Levante, but unfortunately, it can be quite annoying to drive on a daily basis. The car emits a continuous beeping sound if you don't hold your hands on the steering wheel in a specific way, or if you wear the wrong gloves while driving. I have tried to find a way to turn off this beeping, but neither my Maserati dealer nor I have been successful. Additionally, using left foot braking and then hitting the throttle with your right foot can cause the throttle to fail for a few seconds, which can be dangerous. I have experienced this issue a couple of times, and it can be quite alarming. I reported this problem to Maserati service, but unfortunately, they were unable to correct it. Despite these issues, I still enjoy driving my Levante and appreciate its many benefits.

Great driving and the motor sounds amazing! The response is a bit low at full gas, but overall the Audi Q8 is the best option with the most equipment and a stunning design.

The car initially caught my eye, however, at around 60,000 miles, issues began to arise and ultimately led to a complete engine failure at approximately 80,000 miles. Despite the high cost of replacement, I made the decision to invest in a new engine for $38,000. Unfortunately, the vehicle's value has significantly decreased and it is now worth only $10,000 in scrap. Although I paid over $100,000 for the vehicle when it was new, I have come to realize that it was not a wise investment.
