Negative 2005 Saturn L300 car reviews

  1. Khalil Nikolaus 2025-07-07

We purchased this car with 100,000 miles on it for $3200. Since then, we have driven it for 27,000 miles. While we initially thought we had gotten a great deal, we have unfortunately experienced some issues with the car. We have had to replace the tires, the keyless entry remote, the battery, and the cd player and radio buttons. Additionally, we had to replace the fuel pump, which cost $600, after the car died coming off an exit. The A/C has also stopped working, and we have had to replace the rear brakes twice due to a caliper locking up. Recently, we have noticed some flickering in the dash and headlights, which we have been told is due to the alternator. Yesterday, the engine light came on and the code indicated that it is the O2 detector. We are hoping to resolve these issues soon.

I am sorry to hear about the issues you have been experiencing with your L300. It sounds like you have been having trouble with oil consumption and have had to make multiple trips to the dealer. I understand your frustration with the situation and the inconvenience of having to bring your car in for frequent oil consumption tests. Have you been able to discuss potential solutions with the dealer or Saturn? I hope that a resolution can be found soon so that you can enjoy your car without any further issues.

I've been driving this car for 4 years and I absolutely love it! It feels great on the road and was very affordable. Even though I have the 4-cylinder baseline version, I've used this thing for hauling a good amount of stuff, including people that shouldn't have been riding in the back. However, I do have a few issues with the car. The interior materials are a bit cheap, which makes the seats a bit uncomfortable and it isn't all that durable. Additionally, I must admit that repairs are getting to be very expensive for this car, especially since the L-series didn't exactly sell gangbusters, which means parts are getting increasingly hard to find. Nonetheless, I still think this car is a great choice for anyone looking for a reliable and affordable vehicle.

  4. Shad Renner 2025-02-24

My L300 has been back to the dealership twice for the same problem, but unfortunately, they have not been able to resolve it yet. During my last visit, they assigned me a tracking ID and requested me to contact them if the issue persists. The gas tank seems to be causing some issues as it makes a loud noise and vibrates when the car comes to a stop. Additionally, there are some interior vibration noises that need to be addressed. I am confident that the dealership will be able to find a solution to these issues soon.

  5. Keith Becker 2025-02-19

I owned this car for several years and put over 50K on it. It was reliable and never needed any major repairs! However, I must admit that the car lacked personality. It had average power, average gas mileage, and average handling. The looks were also quite bland, and the car was not particularly fun to drive. Additionally, the plastic body made the car sound louder than it actually was, which could be a bit annoying. Overall, though, it was a dependable car that served me well.

Positive 2005 Saturn L300 car reviews

  1. Morton Smitham 2025-08-05

Hey there! Just wanted to let you know that I no longer own the car in question.

  2. Russel Hayes 2025-07-24

I love my car! It may not be the highest quality, but it offers great value for its price and reliability. Although the door handles are a bit cheap, Saturn is currently offering all kinds of incentives to buyers, such as free leather seating and thousands off the sticker price, since they will no longer be producing the L300. Overall, we are very happy with our car.

  3. Terrance Klein 2025-07-17

We bought our Saturn in August 2003. I specifically wanted the 4-cylinder to get the drive chain, as the drive belts tend to break and deteriorate too often. With cruise control, I get 22 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway. Currently, it has 58,000 miles on it and has only needed one brake job. This is actually our second Saturn; the first was a 2000 SL2, which we sold ourselves in 2003 with no issues. We were completely satisfied with this car, and it's a shame they stopped building them. By the way, my daughter-in-law had a 1999 SL-1, one of the first ones, and she drove it for nine years before my son drove it to work for two more years.

  4. Timmothy Lang 2025-06-17

This is a great car for the price! I noticed that some people had negative comments about it, but I think it's important to remember that you're not paying for a BMW or Mercedes. It's unfair to compare the two.

  5. Lonzo Brown 2025-04-26

We are so happy with our decision to choose the L300 over other cars in its class such as the Mazda6, VW Passat, and Subaru Legacy. The V6 engine is truly underrated in its performance and provides an exhilarating driving experience. Not only is it reliable, but it is also a sharp looking car that stands out from the crowd. We were able to get a great deal on this car with all the incentives, making it far more affordable than other cars in its class. Additionally, we have been impressed with the car's fuel efficiency, averaging between 24 to 30 mpg. Overall, we highly recommend the L300 for anyone in the market for a stylish and reliable car that won't break the bank.
