The Chevrolet K5 Blazer is a full-size sport-utility vehicle that was built by General Motors. Being GM's smallest full-size SUV, the K5 Blazer is part of the C/K truck series. Introduced to the Chevrolet line for the 1969 model year, the K5 Blazer was replaced for 1995 by the Chevrolet Tahoe. In 1970, GMC introduced its own model of the truck, called the Jimmy, which was discontinued in 1991 and replaced by the Yukon. The "Jimmy" name was chosen to reflect how GM may sound in a similar manner to how Jeep was thought to be a pronunciation of GP in the competing market. Both were short-wheelbase trucks and available with either rear- or four-wheel drive. Despite all Chevrolet versions from 1969 to 1988 having the "K5" badge, GM never internally referred to the model as the K5 Blazer/K5 Jimmy. Officially, the vehicles have always been referred to as the Blazer/Jimmy, without the K5 prefix. After the release of the S-Series Blazer/Jimmy in 1983, the models were officially renamed "Chevrolet Full-Size Blazer" and "GMC K-Jimmy" (V-Jimmy from 1987-1991), though they are often unofficially still addressed as "K5" to avoid confusion.

The K5 Blazer and Jimmy had "full convertible" removable tops until 1975. For 1976, GM introduced a half-cab design that was less prone to leaks and slightly safer in a roll-over. These half cabs had the convertible top begin a few inches behind the driver/passenger doors and run back to the tailgate.

The Blazer's long-wheelbase relative, with an integrated rear body and doors for second row passengers, is called the Chevrolet Suburban.

Common 1995 Chevrolet Jimmy problems

The Chevrolet Jimmy 1995, also known as the Chevy S-10, is a popular pickup truck that has been on the road for many years. Despite its popularity, there are several common problems that owners have reported.

One of the most common problems with the Chevrolet Jimmy 1995 is distributor issues. The distributor is responsible for sending the spark to the spark plugs, and if it fails, the engine may misfire or not start at all. The symptoms of distributor problems include engine misfires, engine turns over but won't start, and difficulty starting the engine, especially in cold weather. To fix this problem, the distributor cap and rotor, spark plug wires, and ignition module may need to be replaced.

Another common problem with the Chevrolet Jimmy 1995 is fuel pump problems. The fuel pump is responsible for delivering fuel to the engine, and if it fails, the engine may hesitate or not start. The symptoms of fuel pump problems include difficulty starting the engine, especially when the engine is hot, and hesitation or stalling while driving. To fix this problem, the fuel pump, fuel filter, and fuel pressure regulator may need to be replaced.

The Chevrolet Jimmy 1995 is also prone to ABS problems. The ABS system is responsible for preventing the wheels from locking up during hard braking, and if it fails, the brakes may not work properly. The symptoms of ABS problems include the ABS light coming on, the brakes not working properly, and the ABS system not engaging during hard braking. To fix this problem, the ABS sensor, ABS module, and ABS pump may need to be replaced.

In addition to these common problems, the Chevrolet Jimmy 1995 may also experience issues with the heater core, intake manifold gaskets, wheel bearings, and vent door actuator. These problems can cause a variety of symptoms, including difficulty starting the engine, engine misfires, and poor heating and cooling performance.

To address these common problems, it is recommended to regularly maintain the Chevrolet Jimmy 1995 by replacing worn-out parts and addressing any issues as soon as they arise. This can help prevent more serious problems from developing and ensure the longevity of the vehicle.
