2019 Nissan Versa problems
Nissan Versa is an automobile nameplate used by the Japanese manufacturer Nissan in the Americas for the following models:
According to a Nissan press release in 2008, "versa" is short for "versatile space" meant to imply the spaciousness of the interior and configurable cargo arrangements. The Versa is one of the few remaining subcompact cars left on sale in the North American market, with most automakers dropping small cars from their lineups to focus on crossovers and SUVs.

Common 2019 Nissan Versa problems
The 2019 Nissan Versa has been reported to have several common problems, primarily involving the powertrain system, electronic stability control, steering, and suspension system.
Powertrain system issues are a significant concern for 2019 Nissan Versa owners. These problems can manifest in various ways, including trouble shifting, jerking while driving, odd tachometer gauge behavior, whistling noises, and randomly stopping. The root cause of these issues is often a transmission that begins to fail at around 73,000 miles, which can cost upwards of $4,000 to fix or replace.
Electronic stability control problems have also been reported, with some owners experiencing drifting into other lanes and steering that locks up without warning. These issues are especially prominent in the 2016 Nissan Versa and are often mistakenly attributed to alignment problems. However, even after repairs, the steering problem may persist.
Steering problems are not limited to electronic stability control issues. Some owners have reported that their vehicle tends to drift into other lanes, which can be particularly concerning when driving on the freeway at average speeds. Although many drivers initially attribute this issue to alignment problems, the steering problem may continue even after repairs are made.
Suspension system problems are another common issue for Nissan Versa owners. According to CarComplaints.com, nearly 30% of Nissan Versa problems can be linked to the suspension system, particularly in the 2009 model. The most common issues are due to broken or failed coil springs, which can mess up other parts of the suspension system. When addressed promptly, repairs typically cost around $600. However, if ignored or if the issue occurs while driving and causes a tire blowout, the damage, cost, and danger can be heightened.
Windshield wiper issues are another common problem reported by Nissan Versa owners. If the windshield wipers aren't working, it is likely due to a broken wiper motor. This issue is particularly prevalent in the 2012-2017 models, which use CVT transmissions. However, it is still good to know what to expect if you have a newer model.
In summary, the 2019 Nissan Versa has several common problems that potential buyers should be aware of before making a purchase. These issues include powertrain system problems, electronic stability control problems, steering problems, suspension system problems, and windshield wiper issues. By being informed about these common problems, potential buyers can make a more sound decision when shopping for a vehicle and ensure that the vehicle they choose is right for them.

- Summary: 2019 Nissan Versa sedan has a transmission issue where you stop and immediately or within up to 3 seconds, there is a clunk. The engine is jumps forward, causing the engine to rock. In a range of years, up to 2017, there is a recall on the transmission. For 2018, which is just for that year, is a recall for that transmission. How can I find out if 2019 recall is in a preliminary stage at nissan and will be released later this year? I feel it's a safety issue because the transmission can stop working while I'm on the highway which could cause an accident at high speeds. The mechanic at dealership said that they do not get any codes when there is an issue within CVT Type transmission. He stated basically there are no way to open transmission, to exchange parts, due to, no codes for inside of transmission. He stated Nissan Altima transmission was fixed for the year 2019. Then the made the fixes for 2019 versa. Seeing the pattern with 201? To 2017, & 2018 recall on transmission

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2020-08-18
- VIN: 3N1CN7APXKL
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER
- Summary: I PURCHASED A 2019 NISSAN VERSA JUNE OF 2020 WITH ONLY 9,000 MILES ON IT FROM A LICENSED DEALER. AUGUST OF 2020, WHILE DRIVING AT A SPEED BETWEEN GEAR 4/5, ALL OF MY ELECTRIC WAS LOST(TOUCH SCREEN DISPLAY, INTERIOR/DASH LIGHTS) ABOUT 2 SECONDS LATER ALL LIGHTS RETURNED. THIS OCCURRED AGAIN IN OCTOBER OF 2020. SAME CONDITIONS. THERE WERE NO OTHER ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE, NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS, NOTHING. THEN AGAIN IN DECEMBER OF 2020, SAME ISSUE. SINCE DECEMBER, I NOTICED MY VEHICLE HESITATING MORE AND MORE TO TURN THE ENGINE ON WHEN STARTING. FIRST WEEK OF JANUARY 2021, MY VEHICLE DID NOT START. I WAITED A MOMENT AND TRIED AGAIN, IT STARTED. I TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO A NISSAN DEALER WHO INSPECTED THE VEHICLE. THEY SCANNED MY OBD FOR CODES - NONE TO BE FOUND. SAID THE ODB SYSTEM WAS "MONITORING" ONE OF THE SYSTEMS' (BCM) BUT DIDN'T HAVE ANY CODES STORED. AFTER REQUESTING THEM TO RE-FLASH MY BCM, THEY THEN RESPONDED THAT IT WAS MY TIRE PRESSURE SENSOR THAT WAS BEING MONITORED. I HAVE HAD A FAILED BCM BEFORE SO THE SYMPTOMS WITH THE CAR ARE VERY CONSISTENT WITH A FAILING BCM. I PAID $160 TOTAL FOR THEM TO TELL ME THE CAR IS PERFECT. OBVIOUSLY NOT BECAUSE VEHICLES JUST DON'T LOOSE POWER WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. I HAVE A 5 YEAR OLD CHILD WHO GOES EVERYWHERE WITH ME. IF IT IS IN FACT THE BCM AND I GET INTO AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE IT FAILED WHILE DRIVING HIGH SPEEDS - NEITHER OF US ARE LIKELY TO WALK AWAY UNINJURED. THERE ARE NO AFTER-MARKET PARTS ON THE VEHICLE. NO MODIFICATIONS. THE VEHICLE GETS DETAILED/CLEANED/MAINTAINED REGULARLY AS NEEDED TO KEEP EXTENDED WARRANTY VALID. DOESN'T MAKE SENSE. I HAVE A 360 DASH CAM ARRIVING THIS WEEKEND SO THE NEXT TIME IT "SURGES" POWER - I HAVE PROOF.
ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2021-01-26
- VIN: 3N1CN7AP4KL
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE
- Summary: ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHILE DRIVING ON MINOR ICY OR SNOWY ROADS (NOT EXTREMELY SLICK) WHEN I DEPRESS THE BRAKES THE CAR DOES NOT STOP OR SLOW. I HEAR A RATTLLING NOISE IN THE FRONT OF THE CAR THAT I AM TOLD IS THE VEHICLE DYNAMIC CONTROL SYSTEM ENGAGING. I PRESS DOWN ON THE BRAKE AND THE RATTLLING CONTINUES BUT THE CAR DOES NOT SLOW OR STOP. I HAVE NARROWLY MISSED HAVING TWO SERIOUS ACCIDENTS WHEN I HAD TO PULL OF THE ROAD OR INTO ANOTHER LANE TO AVOID HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. I WAS NOT FOLLOWING CLOSELY, THE CAR FAILED TO BRAKE ON EACH INSTANCE FOR 80-150 FEET. THE FLASHING ICON COMES ON SHOWING THE VDC IS IN USE. DURING THE LAST MOST SERIOUS INSTANCE THE ICON SHOWING THAT THE SYSTEM HAD TURNED ITSELF OFF CAME ON. I KNOW YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO PUMP THE BRAKES WITH THE SYSTEM, AND I DID NOT UNTIL THE LAST MOMENT WHEN I HAD TO TURN SHARPLY TO AVOID A COLLISION. PUMPED, TURNED AND BRAKES FINALLY HELD. IN EACH CASE I WAS TRAVELLING AT 25-30 MPH ON LEVEL TWO LANE HIGHWAY IN SNOWY, ICY, BUT NOT SEVERLY SO,CONDITIONS. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING IN COLORADO FOR 40 YEARS AND HAVE NEVER HAD AN ACCIDENT, OR DIFFICULTY CONTROLLING MY CAR IN ICE OR SNOW. ON TWO OTHER OCCASIONS UNDER SIMILAR CIRCUMSTANCES THE BRAKES HELD BUT THE CAR PULLED SHARPLY TO THE RIGHT OR LEFT. I AM SCHEDULED TO SEE DEALER TOMORROW.

2019 Nissan Versa recalls
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued 1 recalls for different components of the 2019 Nissan Versa.
- Manufacturer: Nissan North America, Inc.
- Components: BACK OVER PREVENTION: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERA
- Summary: Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Nissan Altima, Armada, Frontier, Kicks, Leaf, Maxima, Murano, NV, NV200, Pathfinder, Rogue, Rogue Sport, Sentra, Titan, Titan Diesel, Versa Note and Versa Sedan vehicles, as well as Infiniti Q50, Q60, QX30 and QX80 vehicles. Additionally included are 2019 Nissan GT-R and Taxi and Infiniti QX50, QX60, Q70, Q70L vehicles. The back-up camera and display settings can be adjusted such that the rear view image is no longer visible and the system will retain that setting the next time the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."
- Consequence: The lack of an image in the back-up camera display increases the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: Nissan will notify owners in phases, having dealers update the back-up camera settings software, free of charge. The recall began November 11, 2019 and all affected VINs should be activated. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669 or INFINITI customer service at 1-800-662-6200.

I recently rented the Versa for my vacation in Florida and was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable it was to get in and out of the car. Unlike my usual midsize car, which always feels like a struggle to get into, the Versa felt like sitting in a captain's chair. The interior was surprisingly roomy, although it was narrower than what I'm used to. Nonetheless, it was much more comfortable. The back seats were also spacious. With a small engine and CVT, the gas mileage is what you make it. The previous users got 29 MPG, but I managed to get 36.5 MPG on my trip, which included 30% stop-and-go city driving. The city driving portion kept me from getting 39+ MPG. If you tend to have a heavy foot, you'll probably get 25-29 MPG.

I'm glad to hear that you love the car!

Hey there! When I decided to buy this car, I was aware that it had poor acceleration. However, I'm happy to report that after 8 months of driving it, I haven't had any issues with it at all. Plus, the gas mileage is fantastic!

I purchased my 2018 Nissan Versa SV when it was practically new, with only around 700 miles on the odometer. Over the past 5 years of ownership, I have put 30,100 miles on it and have taken good care of it to ensure its longevity. Unfortunately, in the last 6 months, I have had to replace a belt, get new brakes, replace the cooling fan assembly, and now I am experiencing issues with the transmission. It has been difficult to find a mechanic who will work on my CVT transmission, and my local Nissan dealership service center has quoted me up to $400 just to diagnose the issue. It is frustrating to be experiencing these problems at only 30k miles. If you are looking for a reliable vehicle that will last, I would not recommend anything made by Nissan.

So, we recently went from Arizona to Nevada and drove through Sedona, which has some beautiful mountainous areas with winding roads. However, we found that our car struggled to make it up the steep inclines and was quite loud. It seems like this car is better suited for flat, dry areas. If you're considering purchasing this car, just keep in mind that it may not be the best choice for mountainous terrain.

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I just wanted to bring to your attention that we experienced a couple of incidents with the automatic shift selector on our Enterprise rental. Specifically, it slipped out of park and into reverse while powering off. Unfortunately, this caused the car to lurch into reverse and hit the cars behind us on two separate occasions (January 7th and 11th, 2019). We're just grateful that no children were behind us at the time, as this occurred in a school parking lot.

This car is very basic, but it's great on gas. However, it doesn't have much get up and go.
