2017 Nissan Versa note problems
The Nissan Note (Japanese: 日産・ノート, Hepburn: Nissan Nōto) is a supermini/subcompact hatchback or a mini MPV manufactured and marketed globally by Nissan. Introduced in 2004, the first-generation Note was primarily marketed in Japan and Europe, and was produced in Japan and the United Kingdom. The second-generation model was sold in other regions, including North America where it was manufactured in Mexico and marketed as the Versa Note, and Thailand, where it serves as one of the B-segment hatchback offered by the brand alongside the smaller March/Micra under the Eco Car tax scheme.
In 2017, the second-generation Note was replaced by the French-built K14 Micra for the European market. The Versa Note was discontinued in North America in 2019 due to the decreasing demand for subcompact hatchbacks in the region. It continued to be produced and sold in Japan up to the introduction of the third-generation Note in late 2020.
The Note was introduced with a series hybrid drivetrain in late 2016 as the Note e-Power. Due to its popularity and the push of electrification, the third-generation Note is only available with the e-Power drivetrain, which consumes 29.5km/l (69m/USg).

Common 2017 Nissan Versa note problems
The 2017 Nissan Versa Note has been reported to have several common problems based on complaints from owners.
One of the most significant issues is the failure of the Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). Several owners have reported that their vehicles stalled while accelerating, and the transmission was sluggish in changing gears. This problem has been attributed to the premature failure of the CVT, which is a design issue that Nissan has faced over the past decade.
Another problem is that the airbags do not deploy in some cases of mid-speed frontal collisions. This issue has resulted in drivers being injured and vehicles being totaled. Some owners have also reported that the airbag light on the dashboard blinks, leading to replacement of the airbag or sensor. Recalls have been issued for the airbags, and affected vehicles can have the airbags replaced at no charge due to a fault in their assembly.
The 2017 Nissan Versa Note also suffers from slow acceleration, which is a common issue with cars that have a 4-cylinder engine and only produce 109 horsepower. There is no fix for this problem, and owners are advised to accept that the car is not designed for high-speed acceleration.
Another issue that has been reported is struggling to accelerate and shift in cold conditions. Owners who live in cold climates have noted that unless they let the car warm up for 10 or 15 minutes before leaving, they can expect the car to stall or struggle to shift gears while accelerating. Solutions have included replacing the transmission or a transmission module that coordinates fuel pressure while accelerating.
The engine also struggles to start in some cases, particularly in the 2017 Nissan Versa SL, which offers the proximity key unlock and start feature. A few owners have complained that the Start button on the dashboard can stick and refuse to complete the ignition process. Dealers have adjusted or replaced the button to improve the connection that gets the engine cranking.
Some owners have also reported poor stability in windy conditions, with their Nissan Versa being pushed across the road by the wind. Unfortunately, there is no fix for this problem as it is due to the car's aerodynamic design.
Another issue is the lack of power accessories in the 2017 Nissan Versa S, which was produced without power windows or door locks. It even includes a manual transmission. There is no fix for this problem, but buyers are advised to check the specs on the car they intend to purchase to avoid buyer's remorse.
Finally, some owners have reported that the self-retracting driver's seat belt hangs loose instead of pulling taut across the body. One driver noted that the belt actually got caught in the locking mechanism of another seat belt. Dealers have adjusted or replaced the seat belt to fix this problem.
In summary, the 2017 Nissan Versa Note has several common problems, including issues with the CVT, airbags, acceleration, stability, power accessories, and seat belts. Owners are advised to be aware of these issues and take appropriate action to address them.

This is the second car we've had. Our daughter was rear-ended in the first one, and while the car was totaled, she didn't have a scratch. It's great for around town and commuting. We went in to buy a base version, but this one was loaded with everything and had been used as a loaner vehicle for the service department, so they practically gave it to us. I initially considered it a disposable car, but we love it and drive it more than our big SUV and Mustang. Although it's a bit noisy with just adequate acceleration, it fits anywhere you want to park it and is pretty nimble when sneaking through narrow and tight spots. And because it's so small, there's plenty of room in the garage to walk around it. We even haul old ladies to church in the back seats; there's amazing room and it's super easy to get in and out of the car. They love it, maybe because of the spoiler and the looks. This is the smartest car purchase we have ever made!

This little car is amazing! It provides a comfortable ride for both front and rear passengers. It handles extremely well in wet conditions and even performs well in the snow (as well as any front-wheel car could). I have driven it for 57,000 miles so far and I have the S-Plus model. Although the acceleration is a bit slow, it is still a great car to drive. The only downside is that it can be difficult to merge onto roads with short entrance ramps and to quickly navigate from dangerous situations. Additionally, the quality of the interior door materials could be improved as one of my window crank handles has already fallen off and is not covered by the warranty. However, overall I am completely in love with my car!

Purchased from Hertz Sales in early 2017. @70 miles now. It was great on a road trip from Mesa As to Southern Louisiana, doing well at 75 MPH+ and getting around 33 MPG. I recently experienced an issue with the motor mounts and other engine supports, but I haven't spoken to the dealer/Nissan customer care yet. I would appreciate any feedback you may have.

Great handling! The car sticks to the road and has tight (electric) steering. It has enough zip for me and there's lots of lateral room and a high ceiling. Mine is a stripped-down S version with a stick (less to go wrong with it). Although everything is cheap as it's a cheap car, the seats could be more comfortable. Unfortunately, there's a rattle in the dash when it's cold. It really could use (and it can pull) a 6th gear (4k rpm @ 85mph!). However, I have no regrets.

I bought this car because of its great price and low mileage, with remaining warranty. It's a base model, which means it doesn't have power windows or door locks. Some people might give you a hard time about that, but I don't mind. I do miss the auto door locks the most, but I'll get used to it. After all, I drove a Subaru brat for 13 years without those features. So far, I'm really loving my new car! Even though I had to stay within a budget, I think I did very well for myself. It's been a year now, and I still really love my little gray car. It gets great gas mileage, averaging 40 miles on the highway and 35 in the city. I drive it everywhere! The heater and air conditioning are fantastic, and all I've had to do is the recommended oil changes and tire rotations. I still really like it and would do it all over again. I hope I feel the same way next year.

When we bought this car, we were not aware of the ongoing lawsuit involving Nissan's faulty transmission. Unfortunately, we ended up paying $3,600 for the repaired transmission. Additionally, we had to spend $1,000 to repair the catalytic converters. Given the repair costs, it may be worth considering a more reliable model before making a purchase.

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share my experience with my 2015 Nissan Versa Note SV. While I did have to replace the transmission this year (2020), I unfortunately found out that my 5yr Powertrain warranty had expired by just a month. Nissan was unable to assist with the repairs, so I ended up paying $5,000 for a new transmission. It turns out that this is a common issue for the Versas and Sentras from 2012-2017, so I would recommend being aware of this if you own one. If you're considering trading in your car, it may be worth doing so before the CVT transmission gives out. Nissan offered me $2,500 for my car with the broken transmission, so keep that in mind. Let me know if you have any questions!

I've owned 3 Nissans, 2 of which we still have. They have been great vehicles overall. However, I have found that the Versa is not the best car for long distance driving, although it is great for in-town use. During rain, storms, or when driving near large trucks, it can be difficult to keep the car in the road lanes, especially after driving for 8-10 hours or during a 3-hour storm of heavy rain. Interestingly, it seems that every time I rent a car, I end up with a Versa....

I experienced some issues with the radio not functioning properly from the very beginning, but the dealership was able to resolve the problem. During the first oil change, I was informed that both front axle nuts were loosening, but the dealership was able to address the issue. Although the car handled well during a long-distance trip, I did notice some transmission slipping. As a result, I have scheduled a third repair appointment. Despite these challenges, I remain confident in my choice of car and trust that the dealership will continue to provide excellent service.

as most people here, i was looking for a decent gas shipper. although im not pleased i had to buy the SV ( 2 levels up from base)to get power windows, still its a nice lil car. havent gotten that advertised 40 mpg yet, i average about 34. riding as a passenger i feel a bit uncomfortable as far as armrests since i end up sharing the drivers. but it does have better rear passenger legroom than most comparable, esp the COTY VWGolf which is $8k more. side window visors/guards a must as the rain water will drip in.be leary of servicing since Nissan chokes you into the CVT only being done at dealership.be smart and budget minded when buying as the normal nickle and dime stuff will pinch the wallet
