2013 Nissan Armada problems
The Nissan Armada (retrospectively referred to unofficially as the Nissan Pathfinder Armada) is a full-size SUV manufactured by Nissan for the North American market. From 2003 to 2015, the first-generation Armada was assembled in Canton, Mississippi based on the Nissan Titan. From mid-2016 onwards, the second-generation Armada has been built in Yukuhashi, Kyushu, Japan and shares the same platform as the Nissan Patrol, with American-specific modifications, and went on sale in late mid-2016 as a 2017 model. A luxury version of the Armada has been sold as the Infiniti QX80 (originally QX56).
First generation (TA60; 2004)
The 2004 model Pathfinder Armada was unveiled on April 17, 2003, at the New York International Auto Show. Developed under Carlos Ghosn's NRP (Nissan Revival Plan), development was done in September 1999 to 2003 under lead designers Shiro Nakamura and Diane Allen and chief engineers Yuzo Sakita and Larry Dominique. In January 2001, a final exterior design by Giovanny Arroba had been approved by Sakita, Allen, Nakamura, and Nissan executive management, with the final design freeze being completed in July 2001. It is assigned the platform code TA60.
Prototypes based on the Y61 Patrol were hand-assembled as mules from 2001, with the first TA60-specific prototypes being completed and sent to testing in early 2002. Design patents were filed in 2003, with production starting on August 14, 2003, and going on sale on October 1, 2003.
The Armada had a 5.6 L VK56DE V8 engine that made 305 hp (227 kW) and 385 lb⋅ft (522 N⋅m) of torque. This was mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission, and the Armada had a choice of either rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. There are some Armadas that are capable of using E85. It has a towing capacity of up to 9,000 lb (4,000 kg).
The rear door handles are installed on the "C" pillar as part of a Nissan design tradition that started with the 1986 Nissan Pathfinder. When the four-door Pathfinder was introduced, Nissan chose to conceal the door handles as a part of the "C" pillar trim to visually make it appear like a two-door truck with a camper shell, with conventional door handles on the front doors.
The switch to the Armada name occurred in September 2004 for the 2005 model year, where it received new badges without "Pathfinder." The 2005 model year also included a backup camera.

Common 2013 Nissan Armada problems
The Nissan Armada 2013 has been reported to have several common problems based on complaints from owners:
- Corrosion due to Water in Connector Between Engine and Wiring Harness: The design flaw in the Armada's engine allows water to accumulate between the transmission wiring harness and the engine, leading to corrosion. This corrosion can make starting the engine difficult, causing stalling or cranking without starting. In some cases, the transmission may also be affected, resulting in incorrect shifting. To address this issue, the rusty engine harness needs to be replaced.
- Braking Problems: Some owners have reported pulsating brake pads during moderate and light braking, with vibrations felt in the pedals, steering wheel, or even the entire car's body. Models like the 2005, 2006, 2008, and 2011 Armadas are particularly known for developing this issue. Resurfacing or replacing all four brake rotors, along with updating brake pads and other components, is necessary to resolve this problem.
- Interior Accessory Malfunctions: The 2011 Armada has been associated with interior accessory defects, including reports of malfunctions in the CD player, speakers, and cabin air filter. While these issues may not directly impact the vehicle's drivability, they can affect the overall comfort and convenience of the car.
These problems highlight some of the key issues that owners of the Nissan Armada 2013 have faced. Addressing these issues promptly and with the necessary repairs can help maintain the performance and reliability of the vehicle.

- Components: VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL (ESC),SERVICE BRAKES
- Summary: WAS TRAVELING ON A RESIDENTIAL ROAD APPROACHING A STOP SIGN. ATTEMPTED TO APPLY THE BRAKES AND THE PEDAL WENT STRAIGHT TO THE FLOOR. I PUMPED THE BRAKES AND TURNED THE VEHICLE TO THE RIGHT AS I WENT THROUGH THE STOP SIGN WITH VERY LIMITED BRAKING POWER. LUCKILY, NO ONE WAS IN THE INTERSECTION AND THE VEHICLE EVENTUALLY STOPPED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE BRAKE AND THE VEHICLE DYNAMIC CONTROL WARNING LIGHTS WERE BOTH ILLUMINATED ON THE DASH AND I PLACED THE VEHICLE IN PARK. I PUMPED THE BRAKES SEVERAL TIMES WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK AND THE PEDAL STILL WENT STRAIGHT TO THE FLOOR. I TOOK A PHOTO OF THE WARNING LIGHTS AND CONTACTED MY DEALER. I AM STILL WORKING THROUGH THE NEXT STEPS WITH THE DEALER. *TR
SEAT BELTS PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2013-02-02
- Components: SEAT BELTS
- Summary: I DO NOT HAVE THE VIN BUT THE LICENSE PLATE IS ILLINOIS G985474, A HERTZ RENTAL. SEAT BELT (LAP BELT) BOLT NOT ANCHORED TO ANYTHING FOUR ADULTS WERE IN THE VEHICLE, PULLING OUT OF A PARKING LOT INTO A BUSY TOURIST HIGHWAY, WHEN THE PASSENGER IN THE LEFT SEAT IN THE MIDDLE ROW NOTICED THAT HIS LAP BELT WAS LOOSE, ALTHOUGH HE HAD "CLICKED" IT IN. WHEN HE TUGGED TO TIGHTEN IT, THE WHOLE THINK POPPED UP. WE STOPPED IN THE PARKING LOT AND CHECKED. WE COULD TELL PLAINLY THAT THE LARGE ANCHOR BOLT AT THE END HAD NEVER BEEN FASTENED DOWN, HAD NEVER BEEN SCREWED IN OR HAD NEVER HAD A NUT ON IT. IT WAS FREE. WE DROVE ON WITH THE PASSENGER USING THE SHOULDER STRAP. THAT SHORT DRIVE WAS THE ONLY TIME WE NEEDED SEATING FOR FOUR LARGE ADULTS DURING THIS RENTAL. I RETURNED THE ARMADA EARLY TO HERTZ AND SHOWED THEM THE PROBLEM. THE RENTAL AGENT TOOK NOTE OF IT. I TOOK GOOD PHOTOS OF THE BELT AND ITS DANGLING ANCHOR BOLT BEFORE RETURNING THE CAR. I CAN EMAIL THESE PHOTOS TO WHOEVER NEEDS THEM. I THINK THIS IS A QUALITY CONTROL ISSUE WITH NISSAN, NOT ESPECIALLY HERTZ. I GOT THE IMPRESSION FROM NHTSA CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT THIS ISN'T A BIG DEAL, BUT I THINK IT IS HIGHLY DANGEROUS. WHY HAVE LAP BELTS IF THEY ARE NOT ANCHORED? *TR

Leased at year end 2012. I must say, this SUV is the best value for money! I found GMs to be overpriced and Fords to be out of date. The German 3 row SUVs were just not practical. I have driven 40,000 miles in this SUV and I have no complaints. Although the overall MPG is about 15, gas is cheap for now. The steering is a bit heavy and there is some low-end plastic in the interior, but it has plenty of space for passengers, dogs, gear, etc. In fact, it has more space than GMs (Tahoe, etc.). It's almost at the Suburban level in this sense. I have not experienced any mechanical problems so far. The second-row bench seat with flip and fold is very good - better than buckets in my experience. The power is more than enough. However, I would like to point out that the factory roof crossbars are under-engineered and that the roof rack side rails are tricky to mate up with Yakima/Thule systems, but it can be done.

I absolutely love this vehicle! When buying used, it's important to be careful no matter what you're buying. However, if you happen to come across a 2010 Nissan Armada in pristine condition, don't hesitate to buy it! I fell in love with it at first drive, and I guess that followed first sight. Not only does it look amazing and make a statement, but it also handles like a charm - rugged and smooth. It's great to stand out from the crowd of crossovers that all look the same. While shopping, just be sure to keep an eye out for any potential issues. I was lucky enough to find the perfect one, but unfortunately, the Bluetooth didn't work - which was a deal breaker for me. Thankfully, I bought it from CarMax, so I had 7 days to return it for any reason. They tried to fix it, but couldn't. So, I searched all over the country for one just like it. They are hard to find, which is a testament to how great they are. It's all about who took care of it before you. Now, I'm happy to say that I gave it back and bought it again. It's currently at the Nissan dealership getting fixed, and I hope they can do it because I absolutely love it! The steering is amazing, the turning radius is sharp, and it's incredibly comfortable. I bought the SE, and after driving other Armadas that had not been taken care of, I knew I'd found a gem!

The vehicle is quite powerful, even when towing a significant load, and is overall enjoyable. The Platinum trim comes with all the extras you need. The only downside is that it may not be the most fuel-efficient option.
-
These are fantastic vehicles, and you can get into them for much less than you would expect. I took one as a rental unit on vacation with the family, and afterwards I started looking for a good used one. It was perfect for the six of us.

The Armada has been an excellent choice for our growing family, providing us with the space, comfort, and reliability we need. While we knew that the gas mileage would not be excellent when we purchased a large SUV, it has met our expectations. It's a small price to pay for the benefits it provides.

In 2012, I purchased a Nissan Armada SV which unfortunately required 5 visits to the shop. During the first 5 months, the front wheel control arms had to be replaced due to pulling to the right. While the issue was being diagnosed by the technician at Baker Nissan South Houston, there was a misunderstanding and the right front tire was inflated to 45psi instead of fixing the control arm. Fortunately, I discovered the issue before the tire could blow and cause a serious accident in the hot Houston summer. It was a concerning situation, but I am glad that it was resolved.

Hello! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share my experience with the 2010 Armada. As someone who previously owned a 2006 model, I had high expectations for the newer version. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed. While I appreciate the Platinum model's folding mirror option, I do wish it was available on the Titanium models as well. Additionally, I found the instrument cluster redesign to be a bit difficult to read, with the speedometer being off to the right. The Sound/Nav system could also use some improvement. After driving 3000 miles, I've noticed some sounds coming from the chassis when going over speed bumps, which is something I never experienced with my '06. The transmission also seems to make a more significant

Hello there! I recently researched some issues with my Nissan Armada and found that some consumers have had some concerns. While there were some problems with transmissions, control arms, fuel pumps, exhaust issues/catalytic converter codes, AC pumps, DVD players, radios, and OS failures, I'm still hopeful that Nissan will continue to improve their vehicles. I did have some concerns about the black trucks with black interiors, but I'm sure Nissan has their reasons for producing them. While my previous Ford Expedition was more reliable and cost less to operate, I'm still happy with my Armada. I'm not a huge fan of the rear suspension, but I understand that it's an attempt to create a second layer of road shock absorption. Unfortunately, the execution of the idea could be improved. My radio has been a bit of a problem, but I'm sure it's just a programming issue. Overall, I've had a few annoyances, but I'm still satisfied with my Armada. Thanks for listening!

I love almost everything about this product, but I have some concerns about the navigation, suspension, and the dark dashboard during daylight driving. Unfortunately, the suspension is not as smooth as I would like it to be, and I can feel every bump and pothole on the road. Additionally, the navigation system does not work while driving, which can be inconvenient for families with children who want to watch a movie or set up an address while on the go. However, I understand that safety is a top priority, and I appreciate the cautionary measures that have been put in place. Overall, I think this is a great product, and I would highly recommend it to others.
