2023 Hyundai Venue problems
The Hyundai Venue (Korean: 현대 베뉴) is a subcompact crossover SUV manufactured by the South Korean manufacturer Hyundai. The Venue debuted at the 2019 New York International Auto Show as Hyundai's smallest global crossover, prior to the introduction of other smaller SUVs such as the Casper and Exter.
As of 2023, the Venue is positioned between the Kona or Creta, and above the Exter or Casper in Hyundai's international crossover lineup. It shares its platform with the fifth-generation Accent.
Overview
Two versions of the Venue were developed and produced for different markets. The Korean-made Venue is code named QX or QX1, while the Indian-oriented, internally code named as QXi, is shorter in length and wheelbase than the Korean version.
The Venue is not marketed in Europe in favour of the European-focused, Hyundai i20-based Bayon which was introduced in 2021.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-06-01
- VIN: KMHRC8A31PU
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
- Summary: Since the purchase date, the vehicle has experienced electrical and mechanical issues. Initial problems with the driver-side keyless entry were resolved, but persistent malfunctioning of the passenger window (and at times, other windows) has not been successfully rectified despite multiple repair attempts. Furthermore, during a recent visit to ALM Hyundai for an incident where the engine sputtered and nearly shut off multiple times, the dealership indicated there was no cause for concern. However, I remain apprehensive as this issue could be related to the ongoing electrical and mechanical problems with the vehicle, even without the presence of a check engine light. A recent inspection revealed an oil leak, which was never previously identified or addressed by ALM Hyundai during routine servicing. These unresolved issues raise serious concerns about the vehicle's safety and reliability. Attempts to Resolve: Despite numerous attempts to contact ALM Hyundai's service department and Hyundai corporate customer service, my concerns have not been adequately addressed. Hyundai's proposed solution of paying two car payments in exchange for waiving my rights to warranty or lemon law claims is unacceptable and fails to acknowledge the ongoing issues with the vehicle. I have requested my complete repair history from Hyundai, but the records provided by ALM Hyundai are incomplete. A Carfax report indicates additional service visits that are not reflected in the dealership's paperwork I received upon request. I have since made numerous attempts requesting my repair records and have failed to receive them. I feel as if there is a possible violation of UTPA and my consumer rights at this point.

POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2023-08-14
- VIN: KMHRC8A38PU
- Components: POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
- Summary: While driving home from a trip , the car suddenly lost power . and engine light came on an then transmission light overheating light came on . I was near a town pulled over and had car towed to nearest Hyundai dealer. after waiting a week they finally looked at the vehicle, and said that mice had eaten the transmission electrical harness. Days later they repaired the damage, their was only 6000 miles on the car, but it was not covered under the warranty because mice had eaten the wirers. After I researched , the vehicle ,I found out the the wiring they used was made with a soy based coating plant based.THis apparently is not the first time this has been reported to the manufacture. To add to my problems they replaced the same wiring harness back into the car. On the bill I received they charged me 398.20 dollars. Also on the bill it states, that any warranties are only guarantied by manf, and hyundai disclaims any responsibility. Hyundai placed these same wring harness back in the vehicle knowing this is a real problem and danger to drivers. They basically are putting an all you can eat buffet for all rodents. This is a dangerous condition where the vehicle could shut down at any time.
UNKNOWN OR OTHER PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2023-06-29
- Number Of Injuries: 1
- VIN: KMHRC8A35PU
- Components: UNKNOWN OR OTHER
- Summary: I was going to work, dropping my one year old off at his grandparents on the way. My purse (with my spare key) along with the rest of my belongings were dumped into the front passenger seat after I unlocked my car. Unfortunately, I also placed my main set in the seat in order to buckle up the kiddo. I was wearing a dress with no pockets. I shut my front passenger door, opened the rear passenger door and finished up the car seat wrangle. I then shut his door, and every door on the vehicle clicked shut in the auto locking mechanism. My adrenaline and panic were instantaneous. I work in health care and I know how quickly closed cars become death traps for babies. The car was not on, and my intention was to be in the driver seat 5 seconds later with the AC blasting. I live in the country, my closest neighbors were gone, all of my means of outside communication were in the car, my husband was at work and within two minutes my baby started crying. I immediately grabbed a rock from my garden and broke the driver side rear vent window. No harm was done to my baby, he ate a snack and took a nap afterwards. I got the smallest cut ever on my hand, none of it hit him during the smash. Window repair is 475 through safelight, insurance wanted a 1k deductible so I skipped out on a claim. I spoke to Hyundai Cares and after I explained the situation I was asked why I was upset that I had locked my own baby in the car. The problem is that I didn't lock him in the car - the car locked him in the car. My vehicle has seat sensors and reminds me to grab my passenger from the back seat when I park. I get seat belt reminders due to weight sensors in the front passenger seat when I travel with my dog. In my eyes, the car was fully aware the front was empty, two fobs were in the car, and the back was occupied.

STEERING,LANE DEPARTURE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2023-04-08
- VIN: KMHRC8A30PU
- Components: STEERING,LANE DEPARTURE
- Summary: Upon driving the Hyundai Venue the lane assistance feature would repeatedly sound an alert that the car was drifting out of the lane and proceed to yank the wheel in order to keep the car inside the lane. When driving the vehicle on the highway this alarm and wheel pulling was constant, especially in any form of crosswinds, it made the car feel almost impossible to control and terrified my child that was in the car with me. After shutting the lane assistance feature off the course correction that lane assistance was trying to achieve transferred to myself as the driver to manually course correct the car. In order to keep the car inside a lane on the highway I must stay around 50-55mph with a tight grip on the wheel making constant corrections and even then it still feels unsafe as it tries to pull. I contacted two different Hyundai dealerships that said to me it is a design issue as well as them stating the lane assistance feature was a common complaint due to the yanking of the wheel and they advised me to shut it off. My husband brought it to a dealership for a test drive when he demonstrated the car pulling inches out of the lane and his struggle to control it, however since there was not a physical defect the dealership could not help us. I contacted Hyundai corporate and spoke with three different people who said to follow the advice about the lane assistance but since there is not physical defect that nothing can be done. My family and I are left with a car we feel unsafe in and I fear an accident is just a matter of time.

I wasn't completely sold after my test drive, but I am so glad I decided to get this car. The gas mileage is absolutely amazing, and it handles well in all weather conditions, even on icy roads. Although the trunk and backseat are a bit small, it's not a big issue for me since I have a car seat and stroller to take with me everywhere. The little touches, like the sunroof, leather steering wheel, and user-friendly touchscreen display, make the car feel like a luxury vehicle. Overall, I am extremely happy with my choice!
-
Great car for the money! It's compact but fairly roomy.
-
What a cute little car! It's also very affordable and comes with many features. I really appreciate Hyundai for offering free oil changes and other perks. By the way, I noticed that my older cell phone doesn't charge in the wireless charging area.

I've been a loyal Hyundai owner since 2000 and when I saw the Hyundai Venue, I knew it was going to be my next car. I chose the Denim model and I couldn't be happier with my decision. The car is amazing and the technology is incredible. I learn something new about the car every week. The gas mileage is great for long distance driving (approximately 70 miles a day) and the style is head-turning. The interior is spacious and the ride is smooth. The safety features in the Venue outdo many luxury vehicles I've seen. It's truly a great vehicle at an incredible price. I even had the windows tinted and I get a lot of compliments. You'll love this car! It's the best buy for your money.

All cars are a compromise, but that's what makes them fun! In my experience, the Venue is the best compromise I've ever owned (and I've owned over 15 vehicles!). Of course, it has its limitations - it won't provide effortless comfort on a long trip from New York to Chicago, nor will it comfortably fit a family of four on a vacation. It also won't be the fastest car on steep climbs like the one on 287 up from New Jersey. However, it does provide excellent gas mileage, ranging from high 30s to low 40s, which is quite impressive! Adjusted for inflation and earnings growth, it's even cheaper than my '66 VW Beetle. And let's not forget the fun factor - it's an absolute joy to drive! You can hurl through corners, downshift at the early apex, and accelerate through with ease. Although it doesn't have quite as much road feel as I would like, it's still an excellent all-around package. Plus, it's even a bit shorter than my previous car, which is a bonus!

I decided to go with the Tucson instead of the Venue because it had more leg room. Although the Venue is nice, it may be more suitable for shorter individuals. At 5'5'', I found the Tucson to be a better fit for me.

I have the 2021 Venue Essential because I was determined to get a manual car. I've always driven manuals and I love it. However, I have experienced some issues with this car. During my test drive, I noticed a grinding noise when I shift gears, which has been quite loud and persistent. Despite bringing this up with the dealership, they didn't seem to take it seriously at first. After a few months, they did replace the clutch slave cylinder, which has made a slight improvement, but the noise is still present. Additionally, I have had some issues with the front speakers and brakes, but the dealership has been working to address these problems. Overall, I would recommend being cautious when considering this car.

The vehicle has good gas mileage, but it is cheaply made. Unfortunately, the seat belts are not adjustable and can cut into your neck. Additionally, the wiper blades are not very effective and do not provide a clean wipe, even when the vehicle was new. The tires tend to squeal even at low speeds, such as when reversing into a spot or after it rains. Perhaps investing a little more in a higher quality vehicle would be a better choice next time.

Hi there! If you're short on space, have you considered renting a storage unit for a week or so before committing to a purchase? It could be a great way to test out the space and see if it's the right fit for you.

The mid-range venue was purchased new in 2019 and has less than 20,000km's. Unfortunately, it has broken down three times with the same issue and had to be towed back to the dealer. It has been at the dealers for 10 days now waiting for parts. As a result, the vehicle's reliability has been called into question. While this is disappointing, we are confident that the dealer will resolve the issue and ensure that the vehicle is in top condition. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
