The Mitsubishi Endeavor is a mid-size crossover SUV built by Mitsubishi Motors at their manufacturing facility in Normal, Illinois from 2003 until 2011. Design
Its design origins can be traced back to the Mitsubishi SSU which debuted at the 1999 North American International Auto Show, although the Endeavor does not share the concept's mechanical underpinnings. The prototype was powered by a 305 hp (227 kW) version of the 6A13TT 2.5-liter twin-turbo V6, which directed the power to a full-time all-wheel drive system through its INVECS-II five-speed automatic transmission and AYC. When the Endeavor debuted in March 2003, it used the 6G75 3.8-liter V6 offering 215 hp (160 kW) and 250 lb⋅ft (339 N⋅m), mated to a four-speed automatic transmission with an optional all-wheel-drive system that splits the torque 50/50 by default.
Despite some reasonably favorable reviews on its release, the Endeavor's performance in the marketplace failed to meet Mitsubishi's expectations. On its release in March 2003 the company aimed for 80,000 annual sales but had achieved only 32,054 by the end of its debut year, and sales fell every year thereafter.

THE BRACKET THAT IS THE ATTACHMENT POINT FOR THE LEFT REAR FUEL TANK MOUNTING STRAP MAY HAVE BEEN IMPROPERLY FORMED DURING A METAL STAMPING PROCESS. THE PROCESS MAY HAVE CAUSED THE METAL TO HAVE A SPLIT IN THE AREA WHERE THE BOLT THAT HOLDS ONE OF THE TWO FUEL TANK STRAPS TO THE UNDERSIDE OF THE VEHICLE IS LOCATED. IN THE EVENT THE FUEL TANK IS FULL AND THE VEHICLE IS SUBJECT TO A SEVERE COLLISION, THE BRACKET MAY BREAK AND ALLOW THE FUEL TANK TO DROP DOWN, POSSIBLY CAUSING A FUEL LEAK.
- Consequence: FUEL LEAKAGE IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE COULD RESULT IN A FIRE.
- Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT TO SEE IF THE LEFT REAR FUEL TANK STRAP MOUNTING BRACKET HAS SPLITTING BEYOND A SPECIFIC LIMIT. VEHICLES WITH MODERATE TO SEVERE SPLITTING WILL BE REPAIRED USING A REINFORCEMENT CAP, A SPECIAL STRUCTURAL ADHESIVE, AND A RIVET TO REINFORCE THE FUEL TANK MOUNTING BRACKET. I really enjoyed driving my Endeavor, but unfortunately I was in a 6 car pile up caused by my car. Despite the accident, the car still looked and felt brand new after a year of driving. During a snow storm, I was moving at a slow speed of 15 mph and lightly tapped on my brakes, but they locked instantly causing me to slide across the divider into oncoming traffic. Although the insurance adjustor agreed with me, it was a scary experience. I would recommend being cautious if you decide to purchase this car and not just go for looks alone.

I am comparing this vehicle directly to my 2006 Honda Pilot EX. The Endeavor SE with Navigation is also very easy to drive. I really enjoy the 360 watt sound system. It is much better than the 6 disc sound system that is available in the Honda Pilot EX.

I really appreciate this car! It handles great and is so much fun to drive. I have never had any issues with my 2004 model or my new one. I would definitely consider buying another one in the future. The team at Lou Fusz made the whole process so simple and they were incredibly friendly.

If you drive this truck, you'll find it impossible not to buy one. Everything about this SUV is fantastic - from the looks, to the interior, performance, warranty, and safety. I bought this truck for my wife, but I end up driving it more than her because it's just so much fun to drive!

We bought our Endeavor after owning a 2004 Lancer Ralliart to have more room and cargo space. We absolutely love it! It's so comfortable, rides great, and has plenty of power. We've only run 87 octane and haven't had any problems or noticeable loss in gas mileage.

My husband traded my Honda Accord for an Endeavor, but unfortunately, there have been some issues. The dealership told me that they could transfer my Sirius Radio into the new car, but it turns out that all I can hear is static. They explained that there isn't a part available to prevent interference with the radio. I was pretty frustrated about this. Additionally, I noticed that the radio volume kept changing, which was quite annoying. On top of that, the cup holder is not very secure, and I can't even keep a bottle of water in it without it flying all over the place. Overall, I find the car uncomfortable to drive and it's just not to my liking. I apologize to any Endeavor enthusiasts out there.
