1991 Mitsubishi Eclipse problems
The Mitsubishi Eclipse is a sport compact car that was produced by Mitsubishi in four generations from 1989 until 2011. A convertible body style was added during the 1996 model year.
The first two generations share the automobile platform and parts with the rebadged Eagle Talon and Plymouth Laser captive imports. They were built during Mitsubishi Motors' close relationship with Chrysler Corporation. Their partnership was known as Diamond-Star Motors (DSM). In Japan, the first two generations were sold at a specific Japanese retail chain called Mitsubishi Car Plaza. The third, 2000–2005 generation shared a redesigned platform with the Chrysler Sebring and Dodge Stratus. In May 2005, the fourth, and final generation Eclipse was introduced, replacing the Chrysler platform used for the third generation with the PS platform.
According to Mitsubishi Motors, the Eclipse was named after an unbeaten 18th-century English racehorse that won 18 races in a row and then retired.
At the end of August 2011, the final Eclipse was manufactured and subsequently auctioned for charity.
In 2017, Mitsubishi resurrected the Eclipse name on a compact crossover vehicle, called the Eclipse Cross.

I can tell you really love your 1st gen Eclipse! It's understandable that you don't want to sell it.
-
This car is fantastic! It has great looks, is faster than suped up Honda's, and has a nice sounding turbo to show off to the competition. I can't believe I found this car in perfect condition - I've had it for a year and still no problems, except for the engine mounts which were a breeze to fix. It was loaded with sounds and I got it for only 2,500. It's really a one-of-a-kind great car!
-
You're going to love this story! The car was bought brand new in Edmonton, AB back in 1990 with 0Km on the car. Can you believe it? Fast forward to today and the car has just rolled over to 400,000Km (Aprox. 250,000 Miles). But here's the best part - the car is still wonderful to drive and the exterior styling, although true to its time, is still a very nice looking car!
-
After adding some simple upgrades such as an upgraded turbo, a large intercooler, dropping the intake cone to the front bumper, ported headers, and a bodykit, this car becomes quite menacing and can smoke almost any car. It can even run 11's at the track on 4 slicks!
-
I love this car! When I was 16 back in 1990, I begged my parents for it and they surprised me with it. Since then, I've cherished it. Although I shorted out the electrical system a few years back by adding a giant stereo with a custom boom box, I'm eager to get it fixed so that my kids can drive it when they turn 16. It's the ultimate shifting car and it goes extremely fast. I did get a lot of speeding tickets in this car, even though it's not turbocharged. One time, I was caught going 123 on the lonely stretch of highway from Vegas to Mexico. It's fast!

The truth is, this car is very nice for a young driver. If you're a parent and worried about your kids driving fast, it might not be the best choice. Other than that, it's a great car!
