2000 Mercury Sable problems
The Mercury Sable is a range of automobiles manufactured and marketed by the Mercury brand of Ford Motor Company. Introduced on December 26, 1985, as the replacement for the Mercury Marquis, the Sable marked the transition of the mid-size Mercury product range to front-wheel drive.
Over its production span, the Sable was Mercury's badge-engineered counterpart to the Ford Taurus, below the Grand Marquis in the Mercury range. From the 1986 to 2005 model years, it was produced as a mid-size four-door sedan and five-door station wagon. For 2006, the Sable was replaced by the full-size Montego and mid-size Milan. It was reintroduced for 2008 as a full-size car, offered as a four-door sedan.
Because of declining sales, the Sable was discontinued after the 2009 model year, leaving no Mercury counterpart for the sixth-generation Taurus. The final Sable was produced on May 21, 2009; in total, 2,112,374 Sables were produced during its 1985–2005 production.

Common 2000 Mercury Sable problems
The Mercury Sable 2000 has been reported to have several common problems based on complaints from owners. One of the issues is related to the safety certification labels affixed to the vehicles. The "vehicle capacity weight" and "designated seating capacity" information was not printed on the labels of certain passenger vehicles, including the Sable sedan. This means that the luggage load information printed on the label is incorrect, which could affect the driver's ability to comply with the label requirements of FMVSS No. 110, "Tire Selection and Rims".
Another problem is related to the headlamp switch knob, which can fracture and separate from the headlamp switch due to the use of incorrect material by a supplier. This can cause difficulty for the driver to activate the headlamps, which could affect driver visibility and increase the risk of a crash.
The Mercury Sable 2000 also has issues with child restraint anchorage systems. The affected Expedition/Navigator owner guides do not identify the locations of seating positions equipped with tether anchorages and do not provide instructions for securing child seats to these tether anchorages. The F150 Owner Guides do not provide the procedure for securing child seats to the tether anchorages. The Taurus/Sable owner guides do not identify the center rear seating position as having LATCH-compatible lower anchorages. In the event of a crash, the child seat may not be properly attached, increasing the risk of injury to the child.
Another problem reported is related to the adjustable pedal assembly in certain passenger vehicles equipped with adjustable pedals. If the grease from the adjustable pedal assembly enters the stop lamp switch, it can contaminate the contacts leading to carbon build up, and potentially, a short circuit. A short circuit could lead to either the brake lamps staying on or to a loss of brake lamp function, increasing the risk of a crash.
The Mercury Sable 2000 also has issues with the seat belt retractor. The seat belt retractor may have a pin shaft that is incorrectly formed. In some circumstances, the switching mechanism could become nonfunctional, preventing the seat belt webbing from retracting properly. This can increase the risk of injury in the event of a crash.
In addition to these issues, the Mercury Sable has been reported to have transmission problems, engine problems, interior problems, electrical problems, HVAC problems, suspension problems, and broken springs.
In conclusion, the Mercury Sable 2000 has several common problems based on complaints from owners, including issues with safety certification labels, headlamp switch knobs, child restraint anchorage systems, adjustable pedal assemblies, and seat belt retractors. The Sable also has transmission problems, engine problems, interior problems, electrical problems, HVAC problems, suspension problems, and broken springs. These issues can affect the safety, reliability, and overall performance of the vehicle.

- Summary: THE TORQUE CONVERTER IN THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. THE VEHICLE STOPPED DEAD IN THE STREET. I WAS ON A SIDE STREET AT THE TIME AND NOT ON THE HIGHWAY. I CALLED 4 TRANSMISSION REPAIR SHOPS IN THE ST. CHARLES, MO AREA FOR PRICING. THEY WERE ALL AWARE OF THIS DEFECT BUT FORD DOES NOT HAVE A RECALL AND WILL NOT OFFER ANY TYPE OF SATISFACTION FOR THE REPAIR. IF I HAD BEEN TRAVELING AT A HIGHER RATE OF SPEED, ON A BUSY STREET OR HIGHWAY, AN ACCIDENT WOULD HAVE OCCURRED. I THINK THIS IS DEFINITELY A SAFETY HAZARD. I DON'T KNOW THAT ANY OTHER CONSUMERS HAVE COMPLAINED BUT A SURVEY OF TRANSMISSION REPAIR SHOPS WOULD SURELY REVEAL THE EXTENT OF THE PROBLEM. *TR

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,SERVICE BRAKES,ENGINE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2014-05-15
- VIN: 1MEFM59S2YA
- Components: VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,SERVICE BRAKES,ENGINE
- Summary: THIS SABLE HAD THE STUCK THROTTLE PROBLEM RECALL PERFORMED IN OCTOBER 2013. YESTERDAY, A DANGEROUS ACCELERATION CONDITION OCCURRED. WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STOP LIGHT, THE CAR KEPT ACCELERATING EVEN AFTER TAKING ALL PRESSURE FROM THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL. I ENTERED AN ON RAMP AND ACCELERATED TO JOIN WITH TRAFFIC. EVEN AFTER COMPLETELY REMOVING MY FOOT FROM THE PEDAL THE CAR KEPT ACCELERATING TO OVER 75 MILES AN HOUR. I ATTEMPTED TO BRAKE, BUT HAD TO SHUT OFF THE IGNITION TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I RESTARTED THE ENGINE AND IT IMMEDIATELY WENT TO 5500 RPM AND STARTED CUTTING OUT (MISFIRING- I ASSUME WAS CAUSED BY A REV LIMITER). I SHUT THE ENGINE OFF AGAIN. AFTER TWO MORE TRIES STARTING, AND REVVING TO 5500 RPM, IT FINALLY STARTED AND IDLED AT 800 RPM. WHILE CLIMBING A HILL THE ACCELERATOR STUCK AGAIN, BUT AT 3000 RPM. I AGAIN HAD TO SHUT OFF THE ENGINE IN ORDER TO STOP. WHEN I RESTARTED, IT REVVED TO 3000 RPM. I SHUT IT OFF AGAIN AND OPENED THE HOOD. I MANUALLY PULLED ON THE THROTTLE CABLE TO INSURE IT WAS NOT APPLYING PRESSURE. I THEN STARTED THE ENGINE AND IT IDLED AT 800 RPM. THE RECALL WAS PERFORMED IN OCTOBER 2013I HAVE THE SABLE AT A DEALER AT PRESENT TO REPAIR THE THROTTLE PROBLEM. AT NO TIME WAS CRUISE CONTROL ENGAGED. HAD MY WIFE BEEN DRIVING, I'M NOT SURE SHE WOULD NOT HAVE HAD AN ACCIDENT. TURNING OFF THE IGNITION WAS THE ONLY WAY TO PREVENT ENGINE DAMAGE AND SLOW THE CAR TO AVOID A HIGH SPEED ACCIDENT. I JUST RECEIVED A CALL FROM THE DEALER. THE RECALL (AT A DIFFERENT DEALER) WAS PERFORMED INCORRECTLY. THE CLIP WAS INSTALLED INCORRECTLY ACCORDING TO THE DEALER WHO NOW INSTALLED AND COMPLETED THE RECALL CORRECTLY! *TR
FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE,POWER TRAIN,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2013-09-12
- VIN: 1MEFM50UXYA
- Components: FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE,POWER TRAIN,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
- Summary: EXITED FROM THE HIGHWAY TO REFUEL. UPON FUELING WE INTENDED TO CONTINUE OUR TRIP AS PLANNED. CAR STOPPED AT LIGHT BEGAN TO ACCELERATE FOR 5-10 FEET. ENGINE MADE A REVVING SOUND AND ALL POWER WAS LOST. ALL FUELS LOOK GOOD AND THIS CAR HAS LESS THAN 20,000 MILES TOTAL BECAUSE IT WAS USED SPARINGLY BY PREVIOUS OWNER. NO LIGHTS OR INDICATION GAVE WARNING THAT TRANSMISSION WOULD LOSE POWER. WE ARE NOW SEEING ONLINE THAT THIS IS AN ISSUE. I HAD PREVIOUSLY CALLED DEALER BUT KEPT GETTING HUNG UP ON. I AM A WIDOW WITH CHILDREN AND DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY TO JUST TOW THE CAR TO BE FIXED AS THIS WAS OUR ONLY TRANSPORTATION WE HAVE BEEN LIMITED ON ACTUALLY TRAVELING TO THE DEALERSHIP SO THEY CAN CHECK RECALL INFORMATION FOR US. *TR
EXTERIOR LIGHTING PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2013-07-15

SUSPENSION PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2013-08-04
- Components: SUSPENSION
- Summary: MY MERCURY SABLE 2000, (I AM THE ORIGINAL OWNER), WAS TAKEN IN FOR NEW TIRES AND THE TECHNICIAN REPORTED THE REAR BRAKES WERE LOW AND REPLACED BOTH REAR BRAKE DRUMS AND CYLINDERS. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION HE NOTICED THE SPRING ON THE REAR STRUT DRIVERS SIDE HAD FRACTURED. WE ARE NOT SURE WHEN THIS HAPPENED, ALTHOUGH WE ARE SURE IT DID NOT HAPPEN AT THE GARAGE BECAUSE THERE WAS RUST BETWEEN THE FRACTURE JOINTS. THE SPRING NARROWLY MISSED PUNCTURING THE SIDE WALL OF THE TIRE. I DO REMEMBER FORD HAD A RECALL FOR A SHIELD ON THE FRONT STRUT SPRINGS AND THIS CAR WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THIS REPAIR. I HAVE SEEN MANY REFERENCES ON THIS SITE ABOUT THE DEFECT ON THE REAR STRUTS. WHY HASN'T ANYTHING BEEN DONE ABOUT THIS? I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE WITH THE OEM FORD STRUTS FRONT AND REAR. BTW THE GARAGE QUOTED $800.00 TO REPLACE THE REAR STRUTS ONLY. *TR
FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2013-08-02
- VIN: 1MEFM53S5YA
- Components: FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE
- Summary: I DROVE MY MERCURY SABLE 2000 TODAY. JUST SECONDS AFTER I GOT OFF FROM A HIGHWAY TO A LOCAL ROAD, MY FILLED MY CAR ACCELERATED WHEN I HIT THE BRAKE. I HAD TO HIT THE BRAKE HARD TO STOP THE CAR IN A TRAFFIC LIGHT. HOWEVER, THE ENGINE RUSHED TO 4000RPM. I SWITCHED TO PARK GEAR AND TURNED OFF THE IGNITION. AFTER A FEW SECONDS, I TURNED ON THE CAR AGAIN BUT THE ENGINE RUSHED TO 4000RMP. HAD NO IDEA WHAT HAPPENED. WAIT FOR A MINUTE AND TURNED THE CAR ON AGAIN. SAME PROBLEM EXISTS. IN THE PARK POSITION, I HIT THE GAS PEDAL GENTLY AND THE ENGINE RUNNING BACK TO NORMAL. THEN I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE CAR BACK HOME (~10MILES). IT WAS SO SCARY AND HAVE NO IDEA WHEN THIS PROBLEM WILL COME BACK AGAIN. *TR
SUSPENSION,WHEELS PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2013-04-19
- Components: SUSPENSION,WHEELS
- Summary: AFTER BEING PARKED FOR APPROXIMATELY 2 MONTHS OVER THE WINTER, I WENT TO INSPECT THE SABLE, AND FOUND A FLAT TIRE ( FRONT PASSENGER SIDE), UPON FURTHER INSPECTION, I FOUND THAT THE COIL SPRING HAD FRACTURED, SHOT DOWNWARD, AND PUNCTURED THE INNER SIDEWALL OF THE TIRE. THE COIL IS NOT SIGNIFICANTLY RUSTED, AND RETAINS ALMOST ALL OF THE ORIGINAL PROTECTIVE COATING TO PREVENT RUST. ON A TEN YEAR OLD CAR, I WOULD THINK THIS IS NORMAL WEAR, BUT I REMEMBER THAT MY 2000 SABLE WAS RECALLED FOR THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM, AS WAS THE 2001 MODEL, AND I HAVE NOW FOUND OVER 200 REPORTS OF THE SAME PROBLEM IN THE 2003 SABLE, AND WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHY A RECALL WAS NEVER ISSUED FOR THIS MODEL. *TR

2000 Mercury Sable recalls
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued 7 recalls for different components of the 2000 Mercury Sable.
- Manufacturer: FORD MOTOR COMPANY
- Components: SUSPENSION:FRONT:SPRINGS:COIL SPRINGS
- Summary: ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES ORIGINALLY SOLD IN OR CURRENTLY REGISTERED IN THE STATES OF CONNECTICUT, DELAWARE, ILLINOIS, INDIANA, IOWA, KENTUCKY, MAINE, MARYLAND, MASSACHUSETTS, MICHIGAN, MINNESOTA, MISSOURI, NEW HAMPSHIRE, NEW JERSEY, NEW YORK, OHIO, PENNSYLVANIA, RHODE ISLAND, VERMONT, WEST VIRGINIA, WISCONSIN, AND THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, THE FRONT COIL SPRINGS COULD FRACTURE DUE TO CORROSION ASSOCIATED WITH SALT USED ON THE ROADWAYS DURING THE WINTER. A FRACTURED SPRING COULD MOVE PAST THE SPRING SEAT AND CONTACT A FRONT TIRE.
- Consequence: IF THIS OCCURS, THE TIRE MAY RUPTURE RESULTING IN A RAPID AIR LOSS, WHICH COULD RESULT IN A CRASH.
- Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSTALL PROTECTIVE SPRING SHIELDS. IN ADDITION, FORD IS EXTENDING THE WARRANTY COVERAGE OF THE FRONT COIL SPRINGS IN ALL OTHER STATES, FOR FRACTURE ONLY, UP TO 10 YEARS OF SERVICE OR 150,000 MILES, WHICHEVER OCCURS FIRST. IF THE VEHICLE HAS ALREADY ACCUMULATED MORE THAN 150,000 MILES, THIS COVERAGE WILL LAST UNTIL JULY 31, 2005. IF EITHER FRONT COIL SPRING FRACTURES, DEALERS WILL REPLACE BOTH FRONT SPRINGS AT NO CHARGE TO THE OWNER. AN INTERIM NOTICE WAS SENT TO OWNERS ON AUGUST 2, 2004. PARTS ARE NOW AVAILABLE FOR THE 2000-2001 MY VEHICLES AND OWNERS WERE SENT A LETTER ON JANUARY 10, 2005, ADVISING THEM TO BRING IN THEIR VEHICLES FOR REPAIR PARTS ARE EXPECTED TO BE AVAILABLE FOR THE 1999 MY VEHICLES BY THE END OF FEBRUARY 2005 AND OWNERS OF THESE VEHICLES WILL BE NOTIFIED THEN. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT FORD AT 1-800-392-3673.
- Manufacturer: FORD MOTOR COMPANY
- Components: EXTERIOR LIGHTING:BRAKE LIGHTS:SWITCH
- Summary: CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES ARE BEING RECALLED TO CORRECT A PROBLEM WITH A MALFUNCTIONING STOP LAMP SWITCH AND/OR ASSOCIATED WIRING. THIS MALFUNCTIONING COULD RENDER THE STOP LAMPS INOPERABLE OR CAUSE THEM TO STAY ON ALL THE TIME. THIS COULD CAUSE CONFUSION TO A FOLLOWING DRIVER, WHICH COULD LEAD TO A CRASH.
- Consequence: IN ADDITION, IF THE SWITCH AND/OR ASSOCIATED WIRING FAIL IN THE OPEN POSITION, THE BRAKE LIGHTS WILL NOT ACTUATE AND THE DRIVER WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SHIFT THE VEHICLE OUT OF "PARK" IF THEY FAIL IN THE CLOSED POSITION, THE BRAKE LIGHTS WILL REMAIN ON, WHICH WILL NOT ALLOW THE SPEED CONTROL TO BE ACTIVATED. THIS COULD ALSO CAUSE THE BATTERY TO DISCHARGE.
- Remedy: DEALERS WILL REMOVE THE STOP LAMP SWITCH AND ASSOCIATED WIRING ASSEMBLY AND INSTALL A NEWLY DESIGNED STOP LAMP SWITCH AND WIRE ASSEMBLY. OWNER NOTIFICATION IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN ON APRIL 5, 2004. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT FORD AT 1-800-392-3673.
- Manufacturer: FORD MOTOR COMPANY
- Components: SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:PEDALS AND LINKAGES
- Summary: CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH ADJUSTABLE PADELS ARE BEING RECALLED IN ORDER TO ADJUST THE BRAKE AND ACCELERATOR PEDALS TO A MINIMUM OF 50 MM OF LATERAL SEPARATION. SIMULTANEOUS APPLICATION OF BOTH THE BRAKE AND ACCELERATOR PEDALS COULD RESULT IN AN INCREASE IN ENGINE RPM.
- Consequence: THIS COULD RESULT IN A CUSTOMER EXPERIENCING AN "UNINTENDED VEHICLE SPEED INCREASE" OR A PERCEIVED "UNABLE TO STOP" CONDITION.
- Remedy: OWNERS WILL BE INSTRUCTED AS TO THE PROPER WAY TO SET THE POSITION OF THE PEDALS AND TO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO A DEALER TO HAVE THE SPACING BETWEEN THE BRAKE AND ACCELERATOR PEDALS MEASURED. IF THE SPACING IS FOUND TO BE LESS THAN 50 MM, THE DEALER WILL ADJUST THE PEDALS TO INCREASE THE DISTANCE BETWEEN THEM TO GREATER THAN 50 MM. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN OCTOBER 28, 2002. OWNERS WHO DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT FORD AT 1-866-436-7332.
- Manufacturer: FORD MOTOR COMPANY
- Components: VISIBILITY:WINDSHIELD WIPER/WASHER:MOTOR
- Summary: VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER CARS, SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES, AND LIGHT AND MEDIUM DUTY PICKUP TRUCKS. A SWITCH LOCATED IN THE PLASTIC COVER OF THE WIPER MOTOR GEAR CASE COULD MALFUNCTION AND OVERHEAT, POTENTIALLY RESULTING IN LOSS OF INTERMITTENT WIPER FUNCTION, LOSS OF WIPER PARK FUNCTION, COMPLETE LOSS OF WIPER FUNCTION, OR IGNITION OF THE PLASTIC COVER MATERIAL. SWITCH MALFUNCTION IS MOST LIKELY TO OCCUR WHEN THE INTERMITTENT SETTING OF THE WIPERS IS BEING USED, OR WHEN SNOW OR ICE OBSTRUCTS THE BLADES FROM RETURNING TO THE "PARKED" POSITION AT THE BOTTOM OF THE WINDSHIELD. THESE VEHICLES WERE BUILT AT THE FOLLOWING ASSEMBLY PLANTS: ATLANTA PLANT FROM 2/11/00 THROUGH 7/31/00; CHICAGO PLANT FROM 2/14/00 THROUGH 8/4/00; KANSAS CITY PLANT FROM 2/26/00 TO 9/4/00; KENTUCKY TRUCK PLANT FROM 2/18/00 TO 8/31/00; MICHIGAN TRUCK PLANT FROM 2/23/00 THROUGH 8/3/00; NORFOLK PLANT FROM 2/21/00 THROUGH 7/27/00; WAYNE STAMPING AND ASSEMBLY PLANT FROM 2/25/00 THROUGH 8/15/00; AND WIXOM PLANT FROM 2/15/00 THROUGH 8/8/00.
- Consequence: LOSS OF VISIBILITY WHILE DRIVING INCREASES THE RISK OF A CRASH.
- Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE DATE CODE ON THE WIPER MOTOR. MOTORS BUILT WITH THE SUSPECT TIME FRAME WILL HAVE THE WIPER MOTOR GEAR CASE COVER REPLACED. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN AUGUST 20, 2001. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT FORD AT 1-866-436-7332.
- Manufacturer: FORD MOTOR COMPANY
- Components: EXTERIOR LIGHTING:TAIL LIGHTS:SWITCH
- Summary: VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH ADJUSTABLE PEDALS. IF THE GREASE FROM THE ADJUSTABLE PEDAL ASSEMBLY ENTERS THE STOP LAMP SWITCH, IT CAN CONTAMINATE THE CONTACTS LEADING TO CARBON BUILD UP, AND POTENTIALLY, A SHORT CIRCUIT.
- Consequence: A SHORT CIRCUIT COULD LEAD TO EITHER THE BRAKE LAMPS STAYING ON, OR TO A LOSS OF BRAKE LAMP FUNCTION, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
- Remedy: DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE BRAKE LAMP SWITCH AND WIPE DOWN THE ADJUSTABLE PEDAL ASSEMBLY TO REMOVE EXCESS GREASE. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN MARCH 22, 2001. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT FORD AT 1-800-392-3673.
- Manufacturer: FORD MOTOR COMPANY
- Components: EXTERIOR LIGHTING:HEADLIGHTS:SWITCH

I'm glad to hear that you've been pleased so far! This sedan has good power and decent gas mileage in town, and is great on the highway. It's also roomy enough for four people, making it a great option for families. And if you're buying used, it's a great value for the price!

You've got yourself an excellent car that has performed exceptionally well for over 48,000 miles!

The Mercury Sable has really impressed me with its smooth ride, excellent steering and handling, and great fuel economy. I've found it to be very comfortable under most conditions, with no noticeable steering wheel feedback on rough roads or torque steering while accelerating. The engine is also very quiet, with little to no high revs noise during acceleration changes. On road trips at speeds of 65-70MPH, I've been getting high 30's MPG, and around town mid 20's. Overall, I'm very happy with my experience driving the Mercury Sable.

This car has been amazing! It's been so reliable and low maintenance. Even at 136,000 miles, the engine just had its first tuneup and the original plugs are still going strong. The only issue I've had was needing to replace a broken coil spring and strut on one side, which cost me $800. But other than that, no major problems. I plan on driving this car until it can't go anymore. I just hope my next vehicle is as wonderful as this one!

I bought this car on a 5 year loan knowing that I drive 28K miles/year. I love this car and, to my surprise, it still runs great, everything works, and my gas mileage usually is 23 MPG or better. I am debating whether to keep it and run it into the ground, or lose $3,200 because of depreciation versus loan residual. I think I'll keep it!

This car has had a number of issues since I purchased it used. Unfortunately, the air conditioner has never worked and the front passenger side electric window gets stuck open. Additionally, the car has had several recalls for issues that I did not have to pay for. However, I am grateful that the recalls were covered. While there have been some challenges, I have been able to address them and keep the car running. I am confident that I will continue to do so in the future.

Although we have owned the Sable for three years, it has been in the shop frequently for repairs. Despite numerous attempts to fix the air conditioner, it continues to malfunction. Additionally, we have had some concerning experiences with the brakes locking up. Furthermore, there have been several recalls. Overall, our experience with this car has been disappointing and it is safe to say that it was not a wise purchase.

Although my Sable LS Premium is comfortable and has many features, I have unfortunately experienced reliability issues. In the past year alone, I have had to take the car in for brake problems and recalls a total of 9 times. If you are someone who doesn't mind frequent trips to the dealership and lack confidence in driving long distances, then this car may be suitable for you. When I purchased this car, I considered factors such as reviews, price, and interest rates. This was my second Ford vehicle, but unfortunately, it will be my last.
