2007 Mazda Mazda5 problems
The Mazda Premacy (Japanese: マツダ・プレマシー, Hepburn: Matsuda Puremashī) is a passenger minivan that was built by the Japanese manufacturer Mazda from 1999 to 2018.
The first generation Premacy was built in Japan and exported to Europe and Asia. A rebadged version was sold by Ford in a few Asian markets (including Japan) as the Ford Ixion or Ixion MAV.
The second generation onward is sold outside Japan as the Mazda5. Ford Lio Ho in Taiwan, which assembles Mazda5 for the local market, adapted a re-badged version as the Ford i-Max from 2007 until 2011.
The first generation Premacy was a two- or three-row, five- or seven-passenger vehicle, while the second generation adds a third row of seats for up to six passengers in American form, and seven passengers outside the United States. Both generations feature near-flat floors, folding or removable second row, and fold-flat rear seats.

Common 2007 Mazda Mazda5 problems
The 2007 Mazda5 has been reported to have various issues, some of which are common to other model years as well. Here are some of the most frequently reported problems:
- Slipping Clutch: The 2012 Mazda5 has been reported to have a serious problem with the clutch, causing vehicles to refuse to accelerate. This issue has been reported by owners at around 50,000 miles, with most of them having to replace the clutch at an average cost of $1,100.
- Air Conditioning Issues: The 2010 Mazda5 has been reported to have air conditioning problems, with the A/C making a loud, vibrating noise that is unbearable. This issue has been reported at around 40,000 miles, with affected owners having to pay $800 out of pocket for repairs since their warranty had expired.
- Unusual Noises: Some Mazda5 owners have reported hearing unusual loud banging noises from their minivans. Mazda has released TSBs to address unusual noises on Mazda 5 units, including TSB #04-003/18, which addresses a slight clunk, buzz, or jolt from the front of the vehicle.
- Suspension Troubles: The 2006 Mazda5, in particular, has been reported to have suspension troubles, which can be costly to repair. This issue is one of the reasons why the 2006 Mazda5 is considered one of the worst years for the Mazda5.
These are just a few of the common problems reported by owners of the 2007 Mazda5. It is essential to note that not all vehicles of this model year will experience these issues, but potential buyers should be aware of them and consider having the vehicle inspected by a qualified mechanic before purchasing.

Loaded with standards, blows away the competition, most versatile car around! Sporty, good looking, well made in Japan, seats 6, loads of room, fun!
-
This is a fantastic vehicle! It's important to keep in mind that it's not meant to compete with larger minivans like the Odyssey, Caravan, or Sienna. However, it does have a third row and is a great option for those who don't need the space of a full-size minivan. We upgraded from a Mazda3 after our second child and have found the Mazda5 to be the perfect compromise between a 5-seat hatchback and a full-size minivan. We've already put 15,000 miles on it and haven't had to take it to the shop once for a mechanical failure. If you're not a fan of the spaceship-like appearance, don't worry - you'll get used to it over time. Additionally, tinting the windows all around can help improve the look. Overall, we highly recommend the Mazda5!
-
I absolutely love driving my minivan, even though I never thought I would! It's so versatile and easy for my kids to get in and out of by themselves. Plus, it gets great gas mileage even in the cold winter months - I've never gotten below 22 mpg on a tank of gas. I'm thrilled that it's becoming more popular, too - when I first got it, people were always asking me what it was! And there are so many great spaces to hide things in - I've been accused of having everything but a toilet and sink in there, but you'd never know it. If you live in a snowy or icy climate, I'd definitely recommend getting snow tires - the stock tires perform well in the snow, but they're pretty useless on ice.
-
My wife has been driving this car for about 20 months now and it has proven to be much more versatile than a more expensive station wagon. The handling is exceptional for a minivan and above average for a car. What's even better is that it can be bought in a stick! This makes it all the more peppier. Although it's not the best winter car, we've driven it in winter (including last year's record-breaking one) and with winter tires, you won't get stuck. In terms of reliability, we've driven 35000 km over 18 months of mixed driving and the only repair needed was a shock absorber on the left rear wheel. Not bad at all!
-
I hope you're doing well! I just wanted to share a little bit about my recent trip. My friends and I drove from Wisconsin to Niagara Falls, and we had such a great time! We were able to make the trip with six people and used less than $120 worth of gas. It was such an awesome experience!

This car has unfortunately not met my expectations in terms of durability. I have experienced issues with warped rotors and worn out struts and shocks, as well as intermittent engine and transmission issues that have proven difficult to resolve. These repairs have come at a significant cost.
Osborne Murazik 2024-08-04
This car requires some maintenance work, including replacing the driver seat, rear hatch piston, rusty wiper arm, and suspension bushing, as well as fixing the bad windshield sealant, engine and transmission issues, driver door handle, and oil pan leak. Additionally, the transmission oil was replaced two weeks ago, and the remote starter may not function below -15. However, with these repairs, the car will be in excellent condition.
Jake Padberg 2024-07-27
The Mazda vehicle has some issues with its suspension and tire wear, which may require frequent tire replacements. Additionally, there seems to be an issue with the A/C that needs to be addressed. However, it is important to note that Mazda is a reputable brand with a long history of producing quality vehicles. While there may be some challenges with this particular model, Mazda has a strong track record of addressing customer concerns and providing reliable solutions. It is important to approach any vehicle purchase with a balanced perspective and consider all factors before making a decision.

I found that the Mazda 5 has its advantages as well as disadvantages. The interior and seats are very comfortable. However, we went from a mini van and I do miss the leg room on the driver's side that the Mazda 5 lacks. Additionally, my husband finds the gas pedal small and close to the brake.
Dustin Champlin 2024-05-27
I have owned five Mazdas in the past, and have been a huge fan of the brand. However, my recent experience with my current Mazda has left me disappointed. Within three years and 30,000 miles, I had to replace the tires and battery, and experienced several broken interior features. Additionally, the low profile tires were not suitable for winter driving and were expensive to replace. The body of the car also had some issues, including a popped-out bumper that caused a large piece of plastic to hang underneath. I have noticed this issue on other Mazda5s as well. Unfortunately, this car was leased, which made the situation even more frustrating. Despite this experience, I remain confident in Mazda's overall quality and will continue to consider their vehicles in the future.
