2013 Mazda Mazda5 problems
The Mazda Premacy (Japanese: マツダ・プレマシー, Hepburn: Matsuda Puremashī) is a passenger minivan that was built by the Japanese manufacturer Mazda from 1999 to 2018.
The first generation Premacy was built in Japan and exported to Europe and Asia. A rebadged version was sold by Ford in a few Asian markets (including Japan) as the Ford Ixion or Ixion MAV.
The second generation onward is sold outside Japan as the Mazda5. Ford Lio Ho in Taiwan, which assembles Mazda5 for the local market, adapted a re-badged version as the Ford i-Max from 2007 until 2011.
The first generation Premacy was a two- or three-row, five- or seven-passenger vehicle, while the second generation adds a third row of seats for up to six passengers in American form, and seven passengers outside the United States. Both generations feature near-flat floors, folding or removable second row, and fold-flat rear seats.

HOWEVER, MY CAR'S ENGINE IS CONSTANTLY REVVED UP EVEN WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES AN SLOWING DOWN CAUSING IT TO JERK FORWARD. THIS OCCURS SUDDENLY AND RANDOMLY WHEN I AM GOING AT SPEEDS BELOW 20 MPH INCLUDING WHILE ON IDLE. IF I NEITHER APPLY THE BRAKES NOR THE ACCELERATOR, IT WILL STILL DRIVE FORWARD AT 3 MPH IN RHYTHMIC JERKY WAVES. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE LOCAL MAZDA DEALER FOR A KEY REPLACEMENT WHEN WE FIRST PURCHASED IT, AND I BELIEVE WE REPORTED THE PROBLEM THERE FIRST, BUT AFTER THE RIDICULOUS SERVICE WE GOT, I NEVER WANTED TO RETURN THERE AGAIN. THE LIGHT HAS COME ON WHILE I HAVE DRIVEN ON THE HIGHWAY GOING 55 MPH FOR NO APPARENT REASON...ON A STRAIGHT-AWAY. THE PAST TWO DAYS IT HAS GONE OFF AND ON AT LEAST THREE TIMES, AGAIN FOR NO GOOD REASON. THE VERY FIRST TIME I NOTICED THE LIGHT WAS A HOT, SUMMER DAY, BUT THE CAR HAD BEEN RUNNING WITH THE AIR ON. THINKING SOMETHING OVERHEATED, I SHUT THE CAR OFF AND HAD TO WAIT 45 MINUTES BEFORE THE LIGHT WOULD GO OFF. NOW EVEN WITH WEATHER GETTING COOLER AND THE LIGHT COMES ON, IT GOES BACK OFF WHEN IT FEELS LIKE IT, WITH NO EXPLANATION.

When we were considering buying the CX-7, we stumbled upon the Mazda 5 and decided to give it a try. During the test drive, my daughter and I had a blast sitting in the back seats and raising our hands like we were on a roller coaster ride. It's a cute and fun car, and I love telling people about its features, especially how the low car height makes it easier for my daughter with disabilities to get in and out. The sliding doors have also been very helpful in many situations. However, I do wish we had gone for the CX-7 for its height, size, and space. One thing I appreciate about the Mazda 5 is its performance on inclines. It handles hills and plateaus with ease and doesn't seem to be taxed much at all. Occasionally, when really taxed, one has to accelerate to maintain a constant speed on a hill. While you can raise the driver's seat to make it higher, it lacks the SUV feel/height that I miss. Although the transmission seems to do fine going up hills, it sometimes struggles to shift into the correct gear on regular roads. I've found that using the manual shift for a little while can help. At around 50,000 miles, the car needed a second set of brakes, a second set of tires, and a new serpentine belt. The man at the shop said that Mazdas are notorious for going through brakes and tires. The car seems to be lower and longer than expected, which makes it harder to park and has resulted in more scrapes to the front bumper. In addition, it's hard to see around some parts of the car to actually see out the windows. The placement of some of the corners seems strange, and one has to look several different ways to make sure an area is truly clear. Lastly, I've had trouble cleaning spills on the upholstery. Overall, the Mazda 5 is a fun and practical car, but it does have its drawbacks. All of the seats have splotches where something has been spilled and cleaned. Right after we bought the car, I had to have the driver's seat adjusted as the mechanism by which it scoots front and back (close and far from the steering wheel) was not catching and holding properly. This has now happened to one of the back seats, too. And while trying to work with that chair, the top part of the seat folded down, but the seatbelt attachment/lock beside the seat did not (very common) and the seatbelt attachment broke into many pieces.

Especially for a family of 4, you'll love the sliding doors which make it easy to access child seats. Additionally, the vehicle's narrow design is perfect for the H1 freeway's narrowing lanes and parking spaces. The gas mileage is also decent for a four cylinder. Overall, it's a great choice for families on the go!

We were in the market for a new vehicle to replace our old '97 Mercury Villager, but we didn't want to go for a larger Sienna, Odyssey, or Quest. After researching various options like minivans, crossovers, and SUVs, we stumbled upon the M5. We were impressed with all the features it had to offer, and it was smaller than the Villager, which was great for better gas mileage. We don't mind the unique styling with its swoopy body curves, and while the front 'smiley' face isn't our favorite, it's not a dealbreaker. After almost 2 months of driving, we can say that it handles well, although the ride can be a bit harsh. The interior has a lot of hard plastic, but it's still usable and flexible. The third-row seating can be a bit uncomfortable, but it's still manageable. On the highway, we're getting close to 28 mpg in gas mileage.

I purchased my 2012 Mazda 5 in February 2013 with only 10 miles on the odometer. It was a significant upgrade from my '96 Corolla, which had 166K miles and a fuel economy of 27/34 mpg. Although I was initially disappointed with the Mazda's fuel economy of 24mpg, I was pleased with the extra room it provided. As someone who prefers SUVs to mini-vans, I found the Mazda's size and body style to be more in line with the Rav4 & CRV that I had considered, but at a better price and with better fuel economy. While I do wish the mileage was better and that there was a larger covered center console, I ultimately chose the Mazda over the new CX-5 because the bench seat didn't fold flat and the front 'racing' seats were hard and uncomfortable. Every time I drive my ZoomZoom, I discover something new that I like about it.

I hope you're doing well! I wanted to share my experience with my 2012 Mazda5 Touring, which I've owned for a week now. Overall, I'm quite happy with it, but I do have a few minor complaints. The build quality seems good, and the handling and ride quality are very impressive. I've also been getting great mileage, with over 30 mpg on the highway. However, I do have a couple of issues. Firstly, the sunroof only opens to 60% of the cutout, which is a shame. It would be great if it could open fully. Additionally, there's no front covered storage other than the glove compartment, which is a bit inconvenient. The fold-down center front armrests also get in the way of the seat belt buckles, so I think they should be replaced with a covered bin. Finally, I think the sound system could be better. For the same price, you can get a CX5 with a real sunroof and a Bose system, which seems like a better deal to me.

It's been almost a year and 10.5k miles since I got this car. There are definitely some things I like about it, but if I had the chance, I would trade it in. My previous car was an '05 Outback, which had its fair share of problems over 100k miles, but I loved it from the start. Unfortunately, I can't say the same about my current car. I chose it because it has enough space to fit an adult in the backseat with our two little kids, but we only really need that on long trips, which only happen twice a year. Although the 5 was fine with winter tires in last year's very mild winter, I do miss having AWD. Something about it just feels a bit cheap. After 10k miles, one of the sliding doors has started to rattle at slow speeds, which is a bit disappointing.

You'll love the good gas mileage and ample cargo space, and the third row seat is a real lifesaver. While there is quite a bit of road noise, it's still better than having to listen to the 'sound system' (two cans and a string). The seats are made of a unique material that unfortunately retains stains, but overall they're still comfortable.

We chose this model after renting one for a cross country road trip. During that time, I threw out my back but still drove for hours in relative comfort. This car was fine for getting around town and great for long road trips in good weather when we lived at a lower, warmer elevation. However, we later moved to the mountains where we experienced snow and learned that this car is not suitable for snowy conditions despite being front-wheel drive. As someone originally from Minnesota who has owned many cars, I can confidently say that this was by far the worst winter car I have ever driven. In fact, my wife finally ended up sliding off the road and totaling it with new all-season tires on it (we had just taken off the snow tires that only helped minimally anyway) when there was just an inch of snow on the ground. Additionally, it is not a very powerful vehicle. However, it was dependable. It was just also dependably terrible in snow. I wouldn't buy another one.

Although the price was reasonable, it unfortunately doesn't quite replace a van. Once you put up the third row, there is barely any space left for storage. We purchased this vehicle to replace our T&C because we wanted better gas mileage while still being able to accommodate four kids. While it can hold four kids, it doesn't leave any room for a stroller or shopping bags. It is designed for either occasional back row seating or as a four-seater with trunk space.
