Common 2021 Lexus Lc500 problems

The Lexus LC500, introduced in 2021, has been praised for its stunning design and powerful 5.0-liter V8 engine. However, like any vehicle, it has its share of issues that have been reported by owners. Here are some of the most common problems with the 2021 Lexus LC500:

  • Water Ingress: Some owners have reported water getting into one of the front turn indicators, which can be a significant issue. This problem can lead to electrical issues and potentially affect the vehicle's safety.
  • AC Issues: Some owners have reported that the air conditioning system doesn't work sometimes, which can be a significant issue in hot weather. This problem can be caused by various factors, including a faulty compressor or a refrigerant leak.
  • Starting Issues: Some owners have reported that the LC500 can hesitate to start, which can be a significant issue. This problem can be caused by various factors, including a faulty starter motor or a weak battery.
  • Suspension and Transmission Issues: Some owners have reported suspension and transmission issues with the LC500. For example, one owner reported that the car went into limp mode due to a sensor problem, which required a new throttle body under warranty. Another owner reported that the leather on the steering wheel started peeling, which can be a significant issue for a luxury vehicle.
  • Convertible Issues: The convertible version of the LC500 has its own set of issues. For example, the rear subframe is designed in such a way that the rear wheel steering module cannot be fitted, which is a problem for those who want the performance pack or dynamic handling package .
  • Heavy Weight: The LC500 is a heavy car, weighing in at around 4,500 pounds. This weight can affect the vehicle's handling and fuel efficiency, making it less agile and less fuel-efficient than some of its competitors.

In conclusion, while the 2021 Lexus LC500 is a stunning vehicle with a powerful engine, it has its share of issues that owners have reported. These issues include expensive repairs, water ingress, AC issues, starting issues, suspension and transmission issues, convertible issues, heavy weight, and a frustrating infotainment system. Potential buyers should be aware of these issues and consider them when making their purchasing decision.

Negative 2021 Lexus Lc500 car reviews

  1. Alek Vandervort 2025-02-23

What a great roadster! It's so much fun to drive that you never want to stop. After owning the car for 4 months, I wanted to update my review. I wish I had seen other reviews about the braking squeals, though. I just took it in for the same squealing front brakes at stops. For a 4-month-old car with 3900 miles, it's disappointing that Lexus is aware of the problem but doesn't have a fix yet. It's a $100k car, and this issue is unacceptable. I was also informed that a recall on the fuel injection system is coming, but no replacement parts are available at dealers yet. Owners haven't received a notice yet, only dealers. So, please be aware that Lexus is still learning how to build high-performance vehicles. We are trial owners, after all.

  2. Santino Hill 2024-03-12

I also own one! I was influenced by Savagegeese and other YouTubers, as well as the stunning design - it's definitely one of the best-looking cars out there. And let's not forget about the engine sound - who needs infotainment when you have that? It's plenty fast on straight roads, but unfortunately doesn't handle curves as well as it looks. The car's weight and inertia are a physical reality that can't be cancelled out by stability controls or limited slip differential. As a result, it doesn't instill confidence on twisty roads.

Positive 2021 Lexus Lc500 car reviews

  1. Kaleb Rice 2025-07-23

After driving Lexus sedans for years, I gave into the impulse to drive something that is just a thrill. This car is a head turner and it's comfortable to commute in. I appreciate Lexus for making my dream car a reality.

  2. Madyson Hoppe 2025-07-22

This car is truly a work of art. While it may be a bit challenging to get in and out of, and doesn't offer much storage space, once you're behind the wheel, you won't want to leave! It's an absolute joy to operate and performs exceptionally well under different driving modes. In comfort/normal mode, you'll glide around like any other respectable Lexus, while in sport mode, get ready for an exhilarating ride. And in sport+ mode, things get a little intense. While it may not be a 911, who wants to be a hard ass all the time? This car is pure driving enjoyment, and you'll have a purely emotional response to driving it. It's fantastic! By the way, this baby just keeps getting better and better the longer we go along. It's pure enjoyment, and there's no other car like it. It's the closest thing you could imagine to a perfect ride. So, if you're thinking of getting one, better start saving up. Get one before they're gone!

  3. Angelo Kirlin 2025-07-10

What an amazing vehicle! As an owner of both a Mark IV and a GS, I was eagerly anticipating the release of the new Mark V Supra. However, after carefully evaluating the New Supra versus the LC 500, I decided to keep my Mark IV and purchase the LC 500. Regardless of the success and hype of the new Supra, I believe I made the correct choice. This car is truly amazing! From the moment you drive it, be prepared for the attention it gets until you park it. It even gets attention at the dealership! I have never been to the OEM’s service department and had people from sales to service, including marketing, asking to photograph an automobile they sell! The drive is truly special, with absolute power. The interior is palatial in comfort and appointment, and the technology is impressive. It’s a total package, a five-tool athlete in the automotive market that looks like a supermodel! Thank you, Lexus, for flipping the narrative of being boring. Your effort with the RC was a great attempt, and your LFA was an out-of-this-world success that is mostly unattainable. And now, you have achieved the perfect combination of greatness and attainability. Way to go!

  4. Ransom Johnston 2025-05-14

Fantastic car. This is a car to drive solely for the pleasure of driving. It is very responsive, sounds awesome, and turns heads. Touch the accelerator and it's off to the races. It is a totally impractical car, gets terrible gas mileage, has limited trunk space, and is the best car that I have ever owned. I wish I could have bought one earlier.

  5. Bobby Kertzmann 2025-05-12

This is my first Lexus that I have ever owned, and I am absolutely thrilled with it! The car is simply beautiful, and the amount of detail and refinement inside is amazing. It's a real pleasure to sit in and interact with. The materials are top-notch, and the buttons and knobs feel expensive and great to the touch. The ride and performance are fantastic, and the V8 engine has an awesome sound when you rev it out. The transmission shifts with real authority, and the engine has a sound of refinement that makes flooring it an obsession. The handling is good for a car of this size, and I'm looking forward to many, many trouble-free miles with this brand. I cannot begin to stress how much this automobile exudes quality. I'm extremely happy with my purchase and excited to see that Lexus is starting to build exciting cars again. Way to go!
