Positive 2018 Lexus Lc500 car reviews

  1. Floy Adams 2025-02-17

What an amazing vehicle! As an owner of both a Mark IV and a GS, I was eagerly anticipating the release of the new Mark V Supra. However, after carefully evaluating the New Supra versus the LC 500, I decided to keep my Mark IV and purchase the LC 500. Regardless of the success and hype surrounding the new Supra, I believe I made the correct choice. This car is truly amazing! From the moment you drive it, be prepared for the attention it gets until you park it. It even gets attention at the dealership! I have never been to the OEM’s service department and had people from sales to service, including marketing, asking to photograph an automobile they sell! The drive is truly special, with absolute power. The interior is palatial in comfort and appointment, and the technology is impressive. It’s a total package, a five-tool athlete in the automotive market that looks like a supermodel! Thank you, Lexus, for flipping the narrative of being boring. Your effort with the RC was a great attempt, and your LFA was an out-of-this-world success that is mostly unattainable. And now, you have managed to combine greatness and attainability perfectly. Way to go!

Update for July 2018: Hi there! I wanted to share my experience with the car after having it for a year. I must say, it just keeps getting better and better! I absolutely adore this car as a daily driver and road-tripper. The highway mileage is so good it seems fake, I'm easily getting 30 mpg when cruising in Eco mode. And have you heard the engine scream in Sport+ mode? It never gets old! I just can't get enough of it. After a year, I expected to have buyer's remorse or a wandering eye for other cars, but no. The LC 500 is a car that just grows on you and still turns heads. It's like having a supermodel as your daily driver!*** The car has outstanding visual appeal inside and out, but I must admit, the acceleration is a bit disappointing. However, I highly recommend going for the bespoke option, even though it's a 3-month wait. Neither the touring nor sport packages give you the correct combination of options. Here's the combination you want, starting from bone-stock, in order of importance: 1. Limited Slip Differential (LSD), 2. Convenience Package, 3. Heads Up Display (HUD). Done. All other packages and options actually worsen the car's performance. Or they package excellent options (like the retractable spoiler) with unnecessary ones (like Variable Gear-Ratio steering). Basically, you want the LSD to correct the flaws in the drivetrain. The stock, active, rear open-differential loses too much horsepower at the wheels. The LSD is mechanical: more horsepower, more traction. With the stock differential, you have to pay attention when you're kicking the tail loose. It's still fun, but the LSD gives you +HP +control. It's a no-brainer option there. The Convenience Package gives you parking assist, which is a must-have. The dimensions of the car make it difficult to park, but parking assist will save you, again and again. Get it, save your body work, and make parking garages your best friend. Option 3, the HUD, is just plain cool! The car is equipped with an unintentional safety feature that keeps your eyes focused at near-driving distance. Additionally, it displays the song you've cued up from your phone via Bluetooth. After the engine break-in, you can get the dealer to fix the rev limiter to 7,300rpm, which is limited to 7,000rpm off the lot. Although the peak horsepower is at 7,100rpm, the rev limiter is ruining the fun. I would not recommend getting the hybrid version as the 33% savings in mileage is not worth it. Instead, I suggest getting a Tesla or a BMW i8. The car looks twice as expensive as it costs and provides a true opulent experience for the senses. The ride quality is Lexus smooth and the steering feedback is excellent in bone stock configuration. It is a masterpiece of emotional driving that makes you want to drive forever. However, it is slower than a Roush Mustang 427 because the LC 500 drivetrain is not designed for performance and handles like a Challenger SRT8 due to its weight. Additionally, it costs more than a BMW M4 and has out-of-touch infotainment controls. If you are looking for a dream car that gives you an emotional response, then the LC 500 is the perfect choice for you. However, if you do not feel this way after seeing it, then it may not be the right car for you. Personally, I have a transcendental experience every time I drive the LC 500, but I understand that it may not be for everyone. The configuration reviewed was the Black on black V8 with the Convenience Package, All-Weather Package, Touring Package, and Heads Up Display.

  3. Jessie Ruecker 2025-01-19

The car is incredibly comfortable, even more so than German coupes that cost 30-50k more. With the windows up, you can barely hear anything beyond a five-block radius, making it a great choice for those who value peace and quiet. Drivers who have experience with Lexus and other major German brands will understand what I mean. Despite being rear-wheel drive and relatively heavy, it handles like a small coupe. The cabin is so quiet that you may not even realize how fast you're going. Additionally, those who use CarPlay or Siri will appreciate how well they work in this car due to its quietness.

  4. Chester Wuckert 2025-01-01

I recently purchased the Lexus LC500 and wanted to share my opinion. This car boasts some of the finest fit and finish materials, along with unique designs throughout. It is extremely comfortable to drive and has more than enough power to enjoy flashing through the 10-speed. The sound you can generate with 10 gears paddling up and down is superb! In my experience, this car is more reliable and fun than other coupes I've owned from manufacturers such as Porsche, BMW, Ferrari, and Maserati. As you may know, those brands can be quite expensive to maintain. The Lexus LC500, on the other hand, is bulletproof and easy on the pocketbook. I highly recommend considering the naturally aspirated V8 for your collection. You will never regret it!
