The low-pressure fuel pump inside the fuel tank may fail.
- Consequence: If the fuel pump fails, the engine can stall while driving, increasing the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel pump assembly with an improved one, free of charge. Owners of specific models were notified that remedy parts were available starting January 21, 2021. Owners of other models will be notified as remedy parts become available. Remedy parts should be available for all affected vehicles by late March 2021. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-888-270-9371 or Lexus customer service at 1-800-255-3987. This car is truly in a class of its own. While it may not be the fastest or have the best handling, it is still incredibly fast and handles like a dream. From a luxury, performance, comfort, and handling perspective, it is one of the best balanced cars out there. The quality of materials, fit and finish, and attention to detail are on par with, or even exceed, those of cars costing much more. My car is infrared and the paintwork is simply extraordinary. Having spent part of my career in the auto industry, I have had the pleasure of driving many different brands of new cars, and I can confidently say that this car is the best all-around performance GT vehicle I have ever owned or driven. And let's not forget how stunningly beautiful it is to look at, with an interior design and quality that is unmatched. Every ride in this vehicle is beyond enjoyable. While the touchpad infotainment system may take some getting used to, it is still very usable. Plus, the excellent voice control for heating, cooling, media, navigation, and most other things you need every day means you can avoid using the touchpad altogether. I have owned this car for almost three years now and I am still in love with it. I usually tire of cars by now, but not this one. It is pure enjoyment to drive and I have had no problems with it since I bought it. I would highly recommend it.

When it was time to replace my aging 2008 BMW M6 (V10), the LC 500 immediately caught my eye. Although I'm not a fan of Lexus SUVs or sedans, the new coupe was something I had to check out. My wife has owned various Lexus SUVs for years, and we have first-hand experience with the exceptional build quality one can expect from Lexus. My first impression was 'wow, gorgeous.' And it truly is. I was hooked after the initial test drive. The car is very powerful, yet much more nimble than the M6. It is a heavy car, like the BMW, but without the 'boat' feel. The exhaust note, although not a Formula 1 sound like my M6 (with aftermarket Tubi pipes), is deep, pleasing, and sometimes almost throaty like a muscle car of another era. I absolutely love the sound, which is pronounced in the high-performance mode, and more quiet in normal or comfort mode. I got mine with every available option, and I can tell you the 4-wheel steering is incredible. I used to hate traffic circles, but now I love to drive them. The LC hugs the curves like it is glued to the road. You can accelerate going into a curve (as well as out), no problem. I had to order mine from Japan because with all of the options, there were none available in the US at the time in Infrared paint upgrade. This is a special 5-coat paint that changes with the time of day and angle of the sun. Incredible. People stop by my parking space and take selfies next to my car. I could go on and on. I've owned a lot of automobiles in my life, and the LC 500 is my favorite. I am so glad I own one. It is worth every penny if you are fortunate enough to be able to afford one.

After driving Lexus sedans for years, I gave into the impulse to drive something that is just a thrill. This car is a head turner and it's comfortable to commute in. I appreciate Lexus for making my dream car a reality.

It's a pleasure to drive and looks great (mine is red). The front seats are spacious and comfortable, but the back seat is better suited for storage. The acceleration and power are impressive, but I appreciate the safety features, especially the gentle lane assist and automatic low/high beam feature. The remote start is a nice touch, although it's frustrating that after the first year, I have to pay to keep that and other features. (One of my favorites is the car location feature.) I also find it odd that the car turns off when I enter it after using remote start. The entertainment system could have been better, but overall, it's a fantastic car. Just be prepared for the attention it attracts and strangers approaching you to share their appreciation for such a beautiful car. It's been 2 1/2 years (and 20,000 miles), and I'm still smiling. I haven't had any issues (other than the fuel pump recall that occurred early on), and I still love the looks and constant compliments. I wouldn't want any other car.

Fantastic car. This is a car to drive solely for the pleasure of driving. It is very responsive, sounds awesome, and turns heads. Touch the accelerator and it's off to the races. It is a totally impractical car, gets terrible gas mileage, has limited trunk space, and is the best car that I have ever owned. I wish I could have bought one earlier.

What a great roadster! It's so much fun to drive that you never want to stop. After owning the car for 4 months, I wanted to update my review. I wish I had seen other reviews about the braking squeals, though. I just took it in for the same squealing front brakes at stops. For a 4-month-old car with 3900 miles, it's disappointing that Lexus is aware of the problem but doesn't have a fix yet. It's a $100k car, and this issue is unacceptable. I was also informed that a recall on the fuel injection system is coming, but no replacement parts are available at dealers yet. Owners haven't received a notice yet, only dealers. So, please be aware that Lexus is still learning how to build high-performance vehicles. We are trial owners, after all.
