All GX production has occurred at the Tahara plant in Japan, alongside the Land Cruiser Prado and the export-minded Toyota 4Runner.

I bought my car fully loaded 4 years ago and I still love it. I have never had any problems with it and it drives like a dream. The ride is very smooth and comfortable. I have owned several different cars and SUVs in the past, but this is by far the best car I have ever owned. In fact, I loved it so much that I ended up buying another Lexus LS 430 ultra luxury model.

I purchased my car in January 2008 with 31k miles. As of February 2010, it has 65k miles. I really enjoy the many luxury and comfort features it has to offer. The size is just right for an SUV, not too big and not too small, and I love having an 8 cylinder engine which gets better gas mileage than the 6 cylinder engine I used to own. However, there have been a couple of issues. I have had to bring it to the shop twice to fix the sunroof, as it doesn't close all the way and creates air flow noises and leaking. Additionally, three lights came on the dashboard which was intimidating, but it turned out that I only had to replace the gas cap. Lately, the transmission hesitates when I back up in the mornings and put it into drive. The dealer said it is typical and nothing is wrong, so I hope he is right!

My husband surprised me with this SUV just three days after Christmas, and I couldn't be happier! We traded in our LX 470, and I have to say, this new SUV is outstanding. It comes equipped with a DVD player for the kids and a navigation system, which is incredibly helpful. Despite being a few inches smaller than our previous vehicle, it doesn't feel that way at all. I especially appreciate the way the back door opens, making it much easier to load groceries and packages.

This is a truly impressive car! It handles bumps, potholes, and medians with ease, providing an incredibly smooth ride. The navigation system is extremely user-friendly, and I was able to learn how to use it in less than a day. We purchased our Lexus with 50,000 miles on it, and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another high-mileage Lexus, as they are known for their longevity. We have not experienced any issues with our car, except for the drive shaft, which was a known issue and covered by the manufacturer at no cost to us.

It's such a sweet SUV! It drives like a dream - so smooth and rattle-free even after 4 years. I did have to replace the motor in the sunroof after it didn't work right for 3 years, but it's been great ever since. It can be a little tippy in high winds and sharp turns because it's so high, but it's still a great ride. The sound system is fantastic and I really like the navigation system. I took out the useless 3rd row seats and never reinstalled them. I bought it in early 2004 before the rear camera was available, but it would be great for visibility. Overall, I absolutely love it!

This is a great car overall, but unfortunately, I have experienced some issues with both sides front suspension sensors and back sensors going bad. Unfortunately, there is no cheap way to fix these problems. When the back goes out, it can feel like you are riding on a 4 wheeler. I have owned 3 Toyota Sequoias before and I would have chosen another one if I had known about this suspension problem. In my opinion, the best vehicle ever was the 2007 Toyota Sequoia. While this Lexus has many fancy additions that make for costly repairs, it is still a Toyota and is long lasting, built well, and tough. If you prefer a more basic Toyota, I would recommend skipping the fancy Lexus. Additionally, it is worth noting that this car is smaller than the Sequoia and has a gas mileage of 15-18 mpg, which may be a downside for some.

The consistent issue with transmission slippage has not been resolved by the dealer. Despite this, the dealer has refused to acknowledge the issue. Additionally, the tailgate design is not aesthetically pleasing and the ride quality is comparable to that of a tractor. While I had a great experience with my LX, I cannot say the same for the GX.

Just passed 5000 miles. Your car has a superb drive train and great visibility. It's also wonderfully quiet. However, the driver seat is a bit narrow and short, and the third row is not very useful. Additionally, the rear barn door can be a bit of a pain. The ride can be a bit busy, but overall it's a great car. The only issue is that the a/c is excessively powerful and creates too much air movement, which can make passengers too cold. Unfortunately, the outside thermometer is defective, but the dealer is working on fixing it.

The car is an attempt to align the practical and fun nature of an off-road vehicle with a luxury one. However, it seems that the two don't mix well. On the bright side, the exterior lines are quite pleasant. Unfortunately, engaging the 4-wheel drive is awkward and inefficient, which only adds to the already overpriced product.
