2001 Jeep Cherokee problems
The Jeep Cherokee is a line of SUVs manufactured and marketed by Jeep over five generations.
Marketed initially as a variant of the Jeep Wagoneer, the Cherokee has evolved from a full-size SUV to one of the first compact SUVs and into its current generation as a crossover SUV.
Named after the Cherokee tribe of Native Americans in the United States, Jeep has used the nameplate in some capacity since late 1973 when American Motors Corporation introduced the 1974 model year line.

Hi there! It's great to hear that you're a fellow Cherokee enthusiast! I also own a 2001 Cherokee Classic, which is my second Cherokee. Back in 1994, I bought my first Cherokee when rumors started circulating that Chrysler was going to discontinue the model. It's such a shame that they did, but I'm glad to hear that your family also appreciates the classic, well-built, and dependable nature of the Cherokee. The visibility and 4x4 ability are also fantastic features that make it such a joy to drive. Thanks for sharing your love for this amazing vehicle!
-
I'm so glad you chose to share your experience with us! It sounds like you had a great time with your 2001 Cherokee Sport, which had a smooth ride on the highway and was great in the snow and mud. It's also great to hear that it was a reliable vehicle. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us!

The Cherokee is a remarkable SUV that stands out for its simplicity and functionality. Its clean lines and sleek design make it a handsome vehicle that is sure to turn heads. It handles like a sports car, has the power of a Mack Truck, and can easily navigate through snow like a ski-doo. The Cherokee is a beautiful machine that is built for fun on the road and stability off the road. It doesn't come with any distracting features like DVD players, navigation systems, or dual climate zones, which allows you to focus on the driving experience. Overall, the Cherokee is a fantastic vehicle that is sure to impress anyone who gets behind the wheel.

I love how my 97 VW Jetta drove, but this Jeep is a whole new level of fun! Despite having 15-inch rims, it can handle any terrain and is incredibly durable. I trust it to take me anywhere I need to go. While it may not be the most comfortable ride, that's just part of the Jeep experience. Surprisingly, my Cherokee has more horizontal room than a Liberty and is built to last. The gas mileage isn't great (only around 18 compared to my old VW's 26), but the experience of driving a legendary SUV is well worth it!

Congratulations on your recent purchase of a 2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport with 67,300 miles! It sounds like you made a great choice for a solid, 4x4 SUV that is perfect for daily driving. It's great to hear that your other vehicle, a 2005 Cadillac STS, provides you with a luxury sport ride when you want it. I'm glad to hear that your Jeep passed State Inspection and that you were able to make some upgrades to make it even better. The new Firestone Destination A/T tires, catback Borla exhaust system, heavy duty Interstate 7 year battery, full set of 4 KYB heavy duty gas shocks, and new heavy duty steering dampener sound like great additions. It's wonderful that you and your wife both enjoy driving it locally every day!

I've had this jeep for a couple of years and I absolutely love driving it! It handles great in the rain and snow of Ohio, and feels very safe in adverse conditions. While I haven't had any major problems with it yet, I understand that there could be some issues down the road. However, the biggest drawback to this vehicle is its lack of comfort and interior amenities.

Your vehicle is dependable with great pick up and low end torque. It's easy to maneuver in parking lots and off-road. The back seat is only suitable for small children, my 6'4

I purchased this Jeep with 40K miles on it for my kids, and after 5 years it now has 70K miles. While I have had to replace several parts, including the front and rear differentials, ball joints, radiator, water pump, and more, it still feels like a solid truck and is enjoyable to drive. The only downside is that the seats could use more support. Although I have invested a lot in repairs, I am hopeful that it will last for many more miles and years. While my experience has been different from other reviewers, I am still glad to have this Jeep.

Hey there! I just wanted to share my experience with my Jeep that I bought back in 2004. I absolutely love it! It has been such a reliable vehicle with no major maintenance issues, just normal wear and tear. The engine is particularly impressive, and even with 128,000 miles on it, it still runs like a dream. Recently, I noticed a small coolant leak, but I know these things are fixable. One of my favourite things about this Jeep is the Inline 6 engine - it's a little monster in the snow! I'm not kidding, when it snows, I just put it into 4 wheel drive and I can easily leave all the cars and SUVs behind. Thanks for letting me share my thoughts on this amazing vehicle!

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I just wanted to share that I've had the pleasure of owning 5 Jeeps in my lifetime. From the 83 cj7 to the 88 Wrangler, and even 2-91 Cherokees, they've all been great rugged vehicles with inline six cyl. motors. I even used the cj and wrangler for plowing and they held up really well. While the Cherokees are good cars, I've noticed that they tend to have some issues around the 100000 mile mark. But, I've learned from past experiences to just bite the bullet and replace the radiators at the 100 grand mark. They may not be the best on gas (maybe 21 to 23 on a trip), but I still keep buying them..LOL. They're just so good in the snowy climate up here in the northeast. This 2001 Cherokee has had synthetic oil changes since new, so we'll see how long I can run this without getting the usual compression blow by.
