2015 Jaguar Xj problems

The Jaguar XJ is a series of mid-size/full-size luxury cars produced by British automobile manufacturer Jaguar Cars (becoming Jaguar Land Rover in 2013) from 1968 to 2019. It was produced across five basic platform generations (debuting in 1968, 1986, 1994, 2003, and 2009) with various updated derivatives of each. From 1970, it was Jaguar's flagship four-door model. The original model was the last Jaguar saloon to have been designed under the leadership of Sir William Lyons, the company's founder, and the model has been featured in countless media and high-profile appearances.
Series 1, 2, and 3 (1968–1992)
Overview
The first generation Jaguar XJ was produced for a total period of 24 years, with two major facelifts – in 1973 and in 1979, with a raised front bumper and less tall grilles.
For four years, the 1968 introduced XJ was always a four-door, straight-six saloon on a 2.76 m (108.75 in) wheelbase. In 1972, a more spacious, 4-inch (10 cm) longer wheelbase (LWB) option, and a 5.3 litre V12 engine were added. On the XJ series II (from 1973), the standard wheelbase (SWB) saloons were cancelled in 1974 – but a SWB two-door (series II only) coupé was sold from 1975–1978.
The 1979 series III saloons received a redesigned greenhouse (upper body) and bumpers. The 6-cylinder series III models were replaced by the second generation Jaguar XJ in 1987, but the V12 models not until 1992.

- Owners have faced issues with the roof either not opening or closing properly or taking an extended time to do so. This problem is frequently attributed to substandard hydraulic fluid. To address this, flushing the fluid and replacing it with Jaguar-approved hydraulic fluid is recommended.
- Burning Smell Due to Oil Pan Gasket Leak:

Since the manual does not correspond with the actual Air Bag Status Indicator Lamp, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."

You've owned an impressive 175 cars, including a few prior Jaguars. It's great to hear that your 2014 XJR is well sorted and has required minimal maintenance after 32000 miles. As a tall, big man, you find the car exceptionally comfortable, and the handling is great for a car this size. Although there is a very slight vibration felt through the steering wheel, it's hardly noticeable. The build quality and materials are superior, and you love the car. It's clear that you're a frequent trader, but it's difficult to find reasons not to keep the Jag. This may be your favorite car of all time. The car is relatively uncommon, stylish, smooth, and when you put your foot in it, it's off to the races. While the navigation is fine, you prefer to use Google maps most often, which is more up to date.

I purchased this car as a demo/used vehicle directly from a dealer. The luxury of the car is unsurpassed versus its direct competition: Lexus, Mercedes and BMW. I have owned all three and I will choose the Jaguar again.

May 23, 2017 30,283 miles It's still a bad ass car!2016I recently took this car on a road trip, around 2000 miles round trip. On the return trip home I decided not to spend a night in a hotel and just stop for gas and food. Let me tell you, this car is amazing! I was thoroughly impressed. During the trip, I drove on many types of road surfaces and sometimes in bad weather conditions, but this car handled it all with ease. There was nothing it couldn't handle and all systems worked perfectly. I'm 48 years old, 300 lbs and I hadn't been on a long road trip in about 25 years. I wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy it as much as I did in my younger years, but I really did. Mainly because of the XJ. Believe me, many times I was in some desolate country, there wasn't a town for maybe 40 or 50 miles and this car took me through that without breaking a sweat. Sometimes I even did 110 mph and put it on cruise control. As a car person, I'm getting a little teary-eyed talking about this. I don't work for Jaguar, but I'm here to help those who are maybe thinking about buying this car. I've had it for almost 4 years and nothing has broken on it. Seriously, nothing. The performance is excellent. All that bad stuff you used to hear about Jaguar reliability, that's over.

I was on the hunt for a spacious and powerful large LWB saloon that wouldn't break the bank. After researching BMW, Mercedes, and a few others, I had a feeling that I should look into Jaguar. That's when I discovered the XJ-L model, specifically the supercharged 470 HP XJL. I purchased my vehicle from the Beverly Hills Jaguar Dealer in Los Angeles. When I test drove it, I knew it had to be mine. With 470 HP, this car is no joke. Previously, I drove a 400 HP V8 Lexus ISF, and this Jaguar is just as fast, if not faster. It's been two years, and I'm still in love with this vehicle. Whenever I visit hotels or restaurants, the valet always parks my car out front. I won't disclose how much I paid, but let's just say I got a great deal. Although Jags may have their hiccups, buying a certified used one was a total steal. It was worth every penny.

Your 2014 XJR long wheel base is an amazing car! It places the driver and occupants in both comfort and performance. When I took the car for a ride, I decided to floor it and the vehicle came to life like a true performance car, gluing me to the back of the seat and roaring like a lion. The interior is absolutely beautiful and fits around me like a glove. I have owned several luxury vehicles, but I must say that this one is my favorite. It was a great purchase with a great price!
