Common 2014 Jaguar Xf problems
Based on the complaints from owners of the Jaguar XF 2014, several common problems have been reported:
- Bodywork Concerns: Some owners have reported scuffs on the bodywork, particularly from tight city car parks. Additionally, there have been complaints about creaking noises from models with sunroofs, which can be resolved with a revised seal to prevent leaks and electrical issues.
- Brake System: A thud when braking on a full tank of fuel has been noted by some owners. While this is usually not dangerous, it is recommended to have it checked by a dealer. Window regulators failing, especially on the driver's door, have also been reported as common issues .
- Fuel System: A technical bulletin was announced for 2010 to 2012 model year vehicles equipped with a 5.0-litre V8 engine due to faulty fuel gauge readings. This problem may require the replacement of the fuel gauge sensor.
- Timing Chain and Water Pump: Specific to the 3.0 Supercharged V6 and 5.0 V8 engines, problems with the timing chain, tensioners, and guides have been highlighted. The timing chain jumping issue is caused by a design flaw in the tensioners and guides. Water pumps on these models are also prone to failure due to coolant corrosion, leading to low coolant warnings and leaks.
These issues highlight some of the common problems reported by owners of the Jaguar XF 2014, ranging from electrical malfunctions to mechanical concerns like timing chain and water pump issues. Owners should be vigilant about these potential problems and address them promptly to ensure the optimal performance and longevity of their vehicles.

The i tried to restart it and the check engine light came of and after a couple attempts I had to have it towed to Jaguar of tacoma. My car is a 2024 with only 46000 miles on it. This shouldn’t be happening. I have to other vehicle to drive. I commute for work so I need a reliable car, which I did my research and thought this was one.

ENGINE PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2020-01-27
- VIN: SAJWJ0EF7E8
- Components: ENGINE
- Summary: IN OCTOBER 2014, I PURCHASED A JAGUAR XF MODEL, THE CAR WAS USED AS AN EXECUTIVE DEMO FOR THREE MONTHS PRIOR TO MY PURCHASE. OVER THE YEARS, I HAVE SERVICED THE VEHICLE AT THE DEALERSHIP ONLY, THE CAR HAS EXCELLENT SERVICE RECORDS, AND HAS NEVER BEEN SERVICED ANYWHERE ELSE. ON 01/02/2020, THE 96,000 MILES SERVICE APPOINTMENT WAS DONE ON THE VEHICLE. ON MONDAY, JANUARY 27,2020, I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK AND I HEARD A KNOCKING SOUND, I PULL OVER TO GET OFF THE HIGHWAY EXIT AND THE CAR LOSES ALL POWER. THE CAR HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. SEVERAL DAYS LATER THE DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME THAT THE CAR'S ENGINE WAS COMPLETELY LOCKED UP AND THAT IT WOULD BE $20,000 TO FIX THE CAR, THE DEALER OFFERED DISCOUNTS AND I RECEIVED A CREDIT FROM JAGUAR CORPORATE, WHICH BOUGHT THE SERVICE PRICE DOWN TO $7,000. THE DEALERSHIP BELIEVES THAT SOMETHING BROKE APART IN THE ENGINE, CAUSING IT TO LOCK UP. BUT I AM REFUSING TO PAY THE $7,000, MY CAR HAS EXCELLENT SERVICE RECORDS AND HAS NEVER BEEN SERVICED ANYWHERE ELSE BUT THE DEALERSHIP. I JUST HAD THE 96,000 MILE SERVICE PERFORMED ON MY CAR AND EVERYTHING ON MY CAR WAS WORKING IN PERFECT CONDITION. THIS SERVICE ALSO INCLUDED AN OIL CHANGE! I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT THE DEALER IS TRYING TO CHARGE ME $7,000 TO FIX THE CAR. THIS IS THE ONLY OPTION THAT THEY GAVE ME! I BELIEVE THE DEALER DID SOMETHING TO MY CAR OR THIS PROBLEM IS PART OF A RECALL FOR MY CAR THAT HAS NOT BEEN IDENTIFIED. THERE ARE RECALLS ON OTHER XF'S MODELS SIMILAR TO THIS EXACT PROBLEM, BUT DOES NOT INCLUDE MY SERIAL NUMBER. MY CAR ALSO EXPERIENCED ANOTHER RECALL TYPE ISSUE THAT DID NOT INCLUDE MY SERIAL NUMBER; POWER STEERING WENT OUT BUT THE CAR WAS UNDER WARRANTY SO THIS ISSUE WAS REPAIRED AT NO COST. MY CAR HAS ONLY BEEN SERVICED AT THE JAGUAR DEALERSHIP. IT WAS JUST SERVICED ON 01/02/2020. THERE WERE ALWAYS ISSUES AND PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR.

I've had my 2012 Base XF with 5.0 Liter V8 for about 4 months now and I'm really enjoying it. I'm getting about 18 MPG, but I did manage to get an impressive 29 MPG on a 200 mile trip. The acceleration is terrific and lives up to the 5.2 or 5.4 0-60 mph claim. I decided to put 18

If you're considering a XF Jaguar, the XFR is definitely the one to go for. I test drove the 2013 XF with the smaller engine and was disappointed with the level of performance. Since I already own an AWD Jeep, I knew the V6 3.0 AWD model wouldn't meet my needs. However, once I got behind the wheel of the 2013 XFR, I was thoroughly impressed with the level of comfort and performance the car provided. The car came with most of the options I wanted, so I didn't feel like I was missing out on anything. And with 510 HP, why would you? The fit and finish of this car is top-notch across the board. If you're looking for the best that Jaguar has to offer in this model, then the XFR or XFR-S is where you want to put your money. I'm not really sure why Jaguar did away with the V8 model that was available from 2009-2012 on the XF and the XF Super Charged, and replaced it with a V6 that has less HP than the older models. However, I'm grateful that they still make the XFR and XFR-S to compete with the M5, CLS 63, and Audi S6 and S7. Without the XFR, you'll definitely be left behind if one of those cars pulls up next to you.

I purchased my Jaguar two years ago and I have never regretted it. This model year was the last with a non-turbo V-8 option. The Portfolio edition has all the creature comforts I could ask for. The 5.0 liter V-8 provides incredible acceleration, while the cornering and braking are remarkable. On two-lane blacktop country roads, it simply cuts through effortlessly. I have had zero maintenance issues over two years and 10,000 miles of mostly local and longer distance pleasure driving. I replaced the original Continental tires with a set of Goodyear Eagle tires and I like the feel as well as the low level of road noise in the cabin. On long highway trips with the cruise set at 74 mph, I average 26 mpg. Predictably, around town mostly averaging 20-25 mph, I only get 16-18 mpg. I was fortunate to buy this with only 26,000 miles on it. When I retire in a couple of years, I should be right around 40-45,000 miles. I am confident that this car will provide many years of enjoyable driving as my wife and I explore the southeast on our vacations.

The navigation and audio controls could be improved. It may be helpful to have a British engineer work on the design to make it more user-friendly. For example, changing from AM to FM takes three button pushes, which is more complicated than most radios that can do it in one push. Additionally, the 'zoom in' and 'zoom out' functions could be improved by having a smaller pop-up bar that doesn't block the map. Most GPS devices have two small buttons on the corner of the map for volume control, which is more convenient than the current design that blanks the screen for about four seconds. Overall, there is room for improvement in the design of the navigation and audio controls.

I have experienced several issues with my Jaguar XF, including problems with the water pump, fuel pump, computer system, trunk release, motor mounts, and transmission mounts. Despite spending thousands of dollars on repairs, I have been disappointed with the overall performance of the vehicle. However, I am confident in my decision to not purchase another Jaguar in the future. It is worth noting that my previous 03 S Type was a perfect car.
