2019 Jaguar E-pace problems
The Jaguar E-Pace (X540) is a subcompact luxury crossover SUV (C-segment in Europe) produced by the British car manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) under their Jaguar marque. It was officially revealed on 13 July 2017 and was the second production Jaguar SUV.
The car is built in Graz, Austria, by Magna Steyr and from 2018 by Chery Jaguar Land Rover, JLR's joint venture with partner Chery, in Changshu, China.
Overview
Designed under the direction of Jaguar chief designer Ian Callum, the vehicle uses the JLR PTA platform, as used by the second incarnation of Range Rover Evoque and the second incarnation of Land Rover Discovery Sport.
The car has a transverse front engine and is available in both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive versions.
Stunt driver Terry Grant performed a world record barrel roll jump in the car for the reveal which took place at the London ExCel centre. The car did a 270 degree barrel roll and travelled 50 feet (15.3 metres) through the air.

Common 2019 Jaguar E-pace problems
The 2019 Jaguar E-Pace has been reported to have several common problems, primarily related to the diesel engine and exhaust system.
One of the most common issues is the timing chain problem in the 2.0L diesel Ingenium engine, which is used across the Jaguar Land Rover range. The timing chains stretch over time, causing engine rattling on start-up and potentially leading to irreparable engine failure if not replaced. Jaguar Land Rover introduced an upgraded design chain in November 2019 to eliminate this problem.
Another issue is related to the standard EU6 exhaust system used on 2.0 diesel XE models, which does not fit the E-Pace due to a bulkhead obstruction. Jaguar engineered a longer exhaust that runs around the bodywork, causing heat losses and making it difficult for the DPF to regenerate properly, especially on short journeys. This can result in the car going into "Limp Mode" and increased fuel consumption due to excess fuel used in the injection process. DPF blockages often require expensive replacement filters.
These problems can affect all 2.0 diesel models but seem most common on the D150 models. It is recommended to maintain the DPF and avoid short journeys to prevent these issues.
In addition to these engine and exhaust problems, the Jaguar E-Pace has historically ranked low in reliability surveys, with the brand claiming a disappointing 26th place out of 32 manufacturers in the 2022 What Car? Reliability Survey. The E-Pace itself also ranked towards the bottom of the survey’s family SUV category.
In terms of interior and passenger space, the E-Pace offers good legroom for rear passengers but is not as spacious as some competitors. It also lacks sliding and reclining rear seats, which are available in some rival models.

- Summary: AT RANDOM INTERVALS, THE ENGINE FAN GO INTO A 'ROAR' AT 100% RPM AND NOT STOP UNTIL THE CAR IS SHUT OFF. THIS OCCURS REGARDLESS OF THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE (SUMMER AT 90F, WINTER AT 30F AKA JUST NOW). THE FAN NOISE IS NOT PROPORTIONAL TO THE ENGINE RPM AND REMAINS CONSTANT ONCE IT STARTS. THE CAR CAN BE SHUT OFF COMPLETELY AND IMMEDIATELY STARTED AND THE FAN WILL BE RESET AND SILENT, SOMETIMES FOR THE REST OF THE DAY. THE JET-ENGINE SOUND FROM THE FAN IS NOT FIXED BY TURNING THE CAR OFF AND ON, JUST RESET TO THE NEXT DAILY OCCURRENCE. OUR 9 MONTH OLD E-PACE WILL DO THIS AT LEAST ONCE A DAY IF NOT MORE.

Beautiful car rides like a champ. The 2018 250 engine trans combination has a very hard downshift at lower speeds. Unfortunately, I can't manage with driver input or vehicle configuration. The dealer and corporate have diagnosed it as operating as designed. This has wholly eroded the driving experience, but what's worse, I'm concerned about this causing an uncontrolled slide on slick winter streets. I wouldn't buy this car again.

Hi! I noticed that you recently purchased a 2019 2 ltr petrol e pace. I wanted to let you know that I've had some trouble with the boot lid opening when I put my foot under the rear end. It seems to be hit and miss, and I'm wondering if you've experienced the same thing. Also, I've had some trouble with the finger locking. Have you had any issues with that as well?

I was offered this car as a replacement for the one I originally reserved, and I was excited to drive a Jag. The exterior styling was pleasing, although it could have had sharper, more future-forward lines. The interior seemed somewhat bland, with plastic-y materials on the dash and side panels. The gear shift was annoying, as there is a button you must push to put the car in drive when all other gears simply require a slide forward or back. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the cup holders, which should have been more obvious. It wasn't until I googled to find out where they were that I learned they are hidden under a plastic tray that at first glance appears to be an integrated charging dock attached to the center console. The navigation system, once set, is quite nice and accurate. However, you have to first enter the state, city, street name, then number of the place you'd like to go. Driving this SUV was fun, steering was precise but smooth, and braking was responsive. Excessive road noise and lack of rear passenger space took away from a pleasant ride. All this being said, I personally drive a 2019 Subaru Outback and I'm pleased that it is way more user-friendly with intuitive technology, and the interior looks and is way more luxe than this overpriced, underwhelming vehicle.

I've had this car for a year and unfortunately had to visit the dealership 5 times to fix some issues. Not the most enjoyable experience.
