2007 Ford Ranger problems
The Ford Ranger is a compact or mid-size pickup marketed globally by Ford over a series of generations, varying between both in-house or outside development and manufacturing — and with a hiatus in North America from 2011–2018.
Debuting as a compact pickup in North America in 1982 for the 1983 model year, the Ranger was later introduced in some South American countries. From 1998 to 2011, the Ranger nameplate was used for models developed by Mazda for sale outside the North American market. In 2011, Ford introduced the first Ranger based on the T6 platform. Considered a mid-size pickup truck, the model was developed in-house by Ford Australia. In that same year, the North American-market Ranger was discontinued, leaving the T6 platform-based Ranger as the sole Ranger model worldwide.
For the 2019 model year, the Ranger was reintroduced in North America using the globally-marketed T6 model. It is manufactured at the Michigan Assembly Plant at Wayne, Michigan. The Ranger is smaller than the F-150 and larger than the Maverick in the Ford North American pickup truck range, while for markets outside the Americas it is typically the only Ford pickup offered for sale.
The second generation of the T6-based Ranger was released in 2021 for worldwide markets, using a revised T6 platform.

Common 2007 Ford Ranger problems
The 2007 Ford Ranger is a compact pickup truck that is known for its dependability and capability in work environments. However, like any vehicle, it has its common problems that owners have reported. This article will discuss these issues in detail, focusing on transmission problems, engine problems, fuel injector issues, and other concerns.
Transmission Problems:
One of the most widely reported problems with the Ford Ranger is its transmission system. Many drivers have noted issues with the automatic transmission, which can manifest in various ways. These symptoms include transmission fluid leaks, problems in changing gears, a slipping or dragging clutch, and a burning smell in your vehicle.
Engine Problems:
Some drivers have also experienced problems with the engine on their Ford Ranger. It can be difficult to diagnose the exact problem with your car's engine by yourself, as many of the symptoms of different engine problems can be very similar. These symptoms commonly include the check engine light illuminating, a smoking exhaust, frequent overheating, and decreased fuel economy just to name a few.
Fuel Injector Problems:
Another commonly reported problem drivers have experienced with the Ford Ranger is with the model’s fuel injector. The most common symptoms of a faulty fuel injector are a misfiring engine, the check engine light illuminating, and rough idling. These problems are most commonly caused by your fuel injector becoming clogged or dirty, and the symptoms can feel very similar to those of a faulty fuel pump or fuel filter. That’s why it’s so important that a trained specialist checks out your car for you to diagnose the problem correctly. Luckily if you do have this problem, a fuel injector replacement is relatively inexpensive. The average quote for a fuel injector replacement on the Ford Ranger is £168.56 when booked with WhoCanFixMyCar.
Other Common Problems:
In addition to transmission and engine problems, other common issues with the Ford Ranger include leaks in the crankshaft seal, crankshaft sensor failure, and problems with the fuel injector.
In conclusion, while the Ford Ranger is a dependable and capable work truck, it is not without its common problems. Transmission issues, engine problems, fuel injector issues, and other concerns can affect the vehicle's performance and reliability. If you notice any of these symptoms, it is essential to have your vehicle inspected and repaired by a trained mechanic as soon as possible to ensure your safety and the longevity of your Ford Ranger.

Is 2007 a good year for Ford Ranger?

How long does a 2007 Ford Ranger engine last?
250–300K miles if taken care of. You didn't say which one the 4 cylinder or the 3.0 V6 or the 4.0 V6 but all will hold up for over 250K miles if taken care of but the 3.0 V6 will need timing chains at / every 100–150K miles.
What is the common problem of Ford Ranger?
Intermittent crankshaft sensor failure is a common problem with a Ford Ranger. A dip in fuel efficiency, engine misfires, and sluggish acceleration are some of the aftermaths of a faulty crankshaft sensor. There is also a possibility that your Ranger won't start due to a faulty crankshaft sensor.

As an assistant ranger at a Boy Scout camp, I have had the pleasure of working with many trucks. However, I must say that the Ranger has been the best one we've ever had. It is a great little workhorse that can do everything that our F-150 and Silverado can do, and is even better off-road, especially on hiking trails in the woods. I have used it to haul a variety of items such as trash, lumber, dirt, gravel, stone, concrete, tools, trailers, boats, and even another truck. Despite getting pretty beat up at camp over the past 3 years, I am confident that it will last for many more years. When the time comes, we will definitely be purchasing another one. The Ranger starts up every time, the 4wd is great on dirt roads, the engine provides just enough power, and it drives and works like a bigger truck. I absolutely love this Ranger!

I checked my mileage twice with my 4 cylinder 2.3 and I get 28MPG. I use my truck for everyday trips around town and it rides and drives great. So far, I have received excellent service and I would highly recommend it. Before buying, I did my homework and compared it to Chevrolet and Toyota. In my opinion, this Ranger beats them all hands down. I love my Ranger!

I'm glad to hear that you're saving fuel with your vehicle! It's great that you're getting such good mileage, averaging between 24 and 29.5 miles per gallon, and even better that you're usually getting over 26.5 mpg. It sounds like your vehicle runs well, rides smoothly, and handles great. I did want to mention that it only holds 4 quarts of oil, but it's great that you're saving money on your trips. Keep up the good work!

Peppy 4 cylinder, suspension stiff which is OK by me, great gas mileage (avg 28, 30+ highway), drive a lot of dirt roads and no rattles after 10k. Old design, but smallness helps with gas mileage. Seats are great but I'm 5'8

I needed a new vehicle for driving to work and back and decided to get a lower cost pickup so I could haul stuff if I needed to. This little truck feels bigger than it is and runs great. I have averaged 29 mpg just driving it around the area and to work and back and have gotten as high as 36 mpg on longer highway/freeway trips. I can't complain about anything in this vehicle.

I recently purchased a Ford Ranger Fx4 level 2 due to its affordable price and standard options. However, my experience with this truck has not been great. After just 2 weeks of driving, the wheel alignment was off and the battery died, requiring a boost. Additionally, the truck is a gas guzzler and doesn't provide a lot of power, with a very slow throttle response. In my opinion, the truck isn't worth buying. While Ford commercials may look good on TV, it's important to consider all aspects before making a purchase.

My new Ranger has been in the shop 13 times in one year, with 7 visits in the past 2 months, despite having only 15,000 km. The problems started in the first month, with serious clunking in the steering mid-turn and when accelerating from a stop. The inner tie rod ends have been replaced 4 times in 2 months, with the last ones being Ford's new and improved ones, as a result of TS Bulletins and serious problems. Additionally, the intermediate shaft has been replaced twice and the lower steering shaft once. While it has only been a week since the last repair, I am confident that the clunking has been resolved. The dealer informed me that several other owners have experienced similar issues. As a Ford fan who has owned 28 vehicles of all makes in my mid-40s, I have never encountered such an unreliable vehicle in my driveway.

I purchased the 2 door SuperCab XL around three months ago and overall, I'm quite satisfied with the Ranger. However, I have noticed a buzzing sound in my left ear, which seems to be coming from something that has come loose between the headliner and the trim on the right side of the truck. I plan to take it to the dealership to have it checked out. Additionally, I feel that the interior could benefit from more attention to detail. While the truck boasts seven different intermittent settings for the windshield wipers, the radio/fan control console is held onto the dash with exposed bolts. Perhaps fewer wiper speeds and more focus on the console would be a better balance. Despite these minor issues, the truck runs well and has great gas mileage.

The Ranger is truly a great truck. It just flat out works! Although there are newer trucks out there, it's hard to find a better value for your money than the Ranger. I'm happy to report that I haven't had any problems with it.

Purchased 4 cylinder with automatic. Idle is very rough with vibration through steering wheel. Returned to dealer 2 times. Dealer said motor mounts and exhaust needed alignment. No help. Checked this vehicle against other similar vehicle at dealer and found other vehicle to be smoother. When idle increased 25 to 50 RPM, smooths out to normal. Dealer says Idle can not be adjusted. Had several 4 cylinder vehicles and all idle smooth. Dealer says that's the way Rangers are, it can not be fixed. Looks like I am stuck with rough running new vehicle. Should have purchased Japanese.
