The Ford Fusion Hybrid is a gasoline-electric hybrid powered version of the mid-sized Ford Fusion sedan manufactured and marketed by Ford, now in its second generation. A plug-in hybrid version, the Ford Fusion Energi, was released in the U.S. in February 2013.
The first generation was launched to the U.S. market in March 2009 for model year 2010, together with its badge-engineered variants, the Mercury Milan Hybrid and the Lincoln MKZ Hybrid. The second generation was launched under the Ford and Lincoln brands for model year 2013, went on sale in the U.S. in October 2012.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rated the 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid at 39 mpg‑US (6.0 L/100 km; 47 mpg‑imp) combined city/highway. The second generation hybrid improved the fuel economy rating to 42 mpg‑US (5.6 L/100 km; 50 mpg‑imp) for combined city/highway driving. The EPA rated the Energi's combined city/highway fuel economy in all-electric mode at 88 miles per gallon gasoline equivalent (MPG-e) (2.7 L gasoline equivalent/100 km; 106 mpg-imp). In hybrid operation (charge-sustaining mode), the Energi has a combined fuel economy of 38 mpg‑US (6.2 L/100 km; 46 mpg‑imp).
The Fusion Hybrid has won the 2010 North American Car of the Year Award, and the entire 2013 Ford Fusion line-up, including the Fusion hybrid and plug-in variants, won the 2013 Green Car of the Year. As of December 2016, over 285,000 units of the Fusion hybrid family have been sold in the United States since 2009, including the plug-in hybrid variant. As of December 2016, sales of the Fusion Energi totaled 43,327 units delivered in its main market, the U.S.

I recently decided to review my 2019 Ford Fusion Energi (plug-in hybrid) after 6 months of ownership. Overall, I am very pleased with it and would give it a 9 out of 10 rating. While there are a few negatives, it is a very efficient and reliable vehicle that meets my needs well. The overall mpg is between 42 and 43, which is a significant improvement from my old Fusion's 29 mpg. The EV battery range is 20 to 30 miles depending on conditions, and I have found that the regenerative braking helps to charge the battery while driving. The hybrid battery motor works seamlessly with the gasoline engine, making for a very efficient drive. The CVT transmission works well with the Atkinson 4 cyl 2.0 engine. It takes approximately 6 hours to charge on a 120v household circuit, and on a 240v it takes 2.5 hours. The body is sturdy and provides a smooth ride, although the trunk is smaller due to the hybrid battery. While there are still some unanswered questions about the longevity of the hybrid and EV batteries, I am grateful for this tool to aid me in my work. Thank you for reading!

If you're looking for a great commuter car, this is it! I average 39 mph on an 80-mile round trip commute through rolling hills. Even when you turn off ECO and hit the gas, it takes off just fine and can accelerate up a hill onto the highway with no issues. It switches from battery to gas and back effortlessly. Mine has Apple Play GPS and all the bells, making it fantastic for commuting.

I've had the car for one week now. The lowest I've seen is 47.8 mpg, but all the other readings have been above 50 mpg. When I drove home from the dealership, I averaged 62 mph and got 55.1 mpg - amazing mileage! I had only test driven one other hybrid before buying this one. I have a long trip coming up and I can't wait to see the results.

Thank goodness, I've already driven over 60,000 miles and haven't had to make any major repairs yet. Although, I did have to replace the wheels.

This is our second Ford Fusion hybrid plug in. After driving the 2019, I am missing some of the features that I had in my 2017 model. I was disappointed to find that the heated steering wheel feature had been moved to a second screen. Additionally, I noticed that the front sensors and parking assist features had been removed. I am curious as to why Ford would choose to delete these features from the same model.

The interior is really good and the exterior is nice. However, the gas/electric combo may not be suitable for everyone as it lacks horsepower and pick up. It is great for 90% of city driving, but lacks acceleration on the highway. Additionally, the gas tanks are small and the battery takes up 3/4 of the trunk. It is important to research the car thoroughly before considering a purchase. Thank you for considering this information.

The car's slow acceleration in a busy intersection was concerning. Additionally, the shifter was peeling apart and caused injury twice during the rental. The heating and cooling system had inconsistent performance. In mountainous terrain, a straight combustion engine would have been preferable. However, once the car was in motion, it provided a comfortable ride.
