The Ford Fusion Hybrid is a gasoline-electric hybrid powered version of the mid-sized Ford Fusion sedan manufactured and marketed by Ford, now in its second generation. A plug-in hybrid version, the Ford Fusion Energi, was released in the U.S. in February 2013.

The first generation was launched to the U.S. market in March 2009 for model year 2010, together with its badge-engineered variants, the Mercury Milan Hybrid and the Lincoln MKZ Hybrid. The second generation was launched under the Ford and Lincoln brands for model year 2013, went on sale in the U.S. in October 2012.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rated the 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid at 39 mpg‑US (6.0 L/100 km; 47 mpg‑imp) combined city/highway. The second generation hybrid improved the fuel economy rating to 42 mpg‑US (5.6 L/100 km; 50 mpg‑imp) for combined city/highway driving. The EPA rated the Energi's combined city/highway fuel economy in all-electric mode at 88 miles per gallon gasoline equivalent (MPG-e) (2.7 L gasoline equivalent/100 km; 106 mpg-imp). In hybrid operation (charge-sustaining mode), the Energi has a combined fuel economy of 38 mpg‑US (6.2 L/100 km; 46 mpg‑imp).

The Fusion Hybrid has won the 2010 North American Car of the Year Award, and the entire 2013 Ford Fusion line-up, including the Fusion hybrid and plug-in variants, won the 2013 Green Car of the Year. As of December 2016, over 285,000 units of the Fusion hybrid family have been sold in the United States since 2009, including the plug-in hybrid variant. Negative 2011 Ford Fusion hybrid car reviews

I was really excited about the Ford Fusion Hybrid and fell in love with the car at the dealership. It had so many amenities for the price, and I was really happy to have a green car. Unfortunately, after just 5 months, my car wouldn't start. It's been almost 2 months now, and the dealer is still trying to figure out the issue. However, I'm hopeful that the recent visit from a Ford engineer will help resolve the problem. Despite this setback, I still have faith in Ford and their vehicles, as I've been a loyal customer for years. I'm looking forward to getting back on the road soon!

This car has been a disappointment, requiring frequent repairs and causing significant inconvenience. I plan to pursue legal action to have it classified as a lemon and will be seeking a refund. In the future, I will be purchasing a Honda, a brand that I trust for its reliability and quality.

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share some information about my hybrid vehicle. I've been getting an average of 38.9 MPG, which is pretty good! The mileage can vary depending on driving conditions and weather, but yesterday I got an impressive 53.9 MPG on the way to work and 45.4 on the way home. I'm still getting used to owning a non-Japanese vehicle, but so far it's been pretty reliable. We did have to replace the right front wheel bearing, but luckily it was covered under warranty. Unfortunately, the factory tires (Michelin) need replacing already, which is a bit disappointing. Also, the

On 4/5, after driving about 500 miles, the vehicle suddenly stopped in traffic with all error lights illuminated. The vehicle was promptly towed to the dealer for repairs. Despite the initial setback, the dealer was able to identify the issue and promptly ordered a new processor. Although there was a slight delay in receiving the part, the dealer was able to install the new processor on 4/11. However, despite the repair, the error lights remained illuminated. The dealer has been in contact with Ford Engineering and is actively working on resolving the issue. Rest assured, we are committed to ensuring that your Fusion runs smoothly and efficiently. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

I am confident in saying that the Ford Fusion Hybrid is a car that has a lot of potential. It comes with a range of upgraded accessories such as navigation, SYNC, and smart gauges, which are all impressive features. The car also has a great fuel economy, averaging over 40 mpg combined. However, I must say that I am disappointed with the recent experience I had with the car. After only 2 months of use, the car would not start, and despite being in the Ford service shop for 30 days, the problem has not been diagnosed. It is concerning that such a hidden defect exists in a car that is on the market, and it is disappointing that Ford customer service has been unresponsive. I would advise potential buyers to be aware of this issue before purchasing the Ford Fusion Hybrid.

Positive 2011 Ford Fusion hybrid car reviews

Hi there! I just wanted to let you know that while the battery may have slightly compromised the trunk, the car still drives really well and is super comfortable. :)

  2. Trenton Crona 2025-01-02

This car may have a higher price tag than a 4 cylinder Fusion, but it's definitely worth the investment. It's a real gas saver and an absolute champ on the road. Living in the mountains, my MPG is probably below average for a Ford Fusion Hybrid owner, but I still manage to average about 37.2 mpg. During my commutes to the downtown area of my city via highway, I average about 48 mpg per trip which really pleases me. With the total average mpg of my car at 37.2 mpg, I can go nearly 650 miles on a full tank of gas. Not only does this car save lots of money on gas, but it also looks quite sporty in my humble opinion. The interior of the vehicle is also appealing to the eye. I have black leather interior that looks beautifully classy and is extremely comfortable. The entertainment display this vehicle comes equipped with is quite the capable machine. It comes with GPS and loads of other features that are fascinating. One example is the power distribution between the engine and hybrid battery. A more practical display is the average mpg (which I use). Although the entertainment/infotainment system has many functions, it is simple to understand and operate. Elaborating on other interior features, the car comes with TWELVE Sony speakers and you can choose to play music with surround sound from them. You can also adjust the bass and treble of the speakers with the infotainment screen. A cool perk to this car is that the cup holder lights can actually change color with the push of a button! Overall, this car is a great investment that saves you money and looks great while doing it.The backseat of the car is equipped with an actual outlet, which allows for faster charging. One thing to note is that the auxiliary port is located inside the center console, which may take up some space for other items. However, I appreciate how the location hides the excess aux cord in the console. The performance of this car is truly impressive for its price tag. The steering is tight and the car is agile, while the electric motor provides great torque and speed. The brakes are also very responsive and impressive, as I experienced firsthand when I had to make a sudden stop. The comfort of this car is above average too. My friends and I drove for two and a half hours straight without any discomfort or aching muscles. The seats are adjustable in multiple ways and are thick, comfortable, and fit the body well. Overall, this car has many pros to offer.MPG, brakes, handling, comfort, speakers, outlet, moon roof, infotainment system, 3 programmable garage door openers, back-up camera, Bluetooth capability, aux, disc capability, 10 GB jukebox, Sirius XM, automatic headlights and windshield wipers. The car has a few minor cons, such as a smaller trunk due to the hybrid battery location, and a peculiar aux location. Additionally, the headlights could be brighter.

I'm so glad to hear that you love your car! It's amazing that you've put 135,000 miles on it with only regular maintenance. When you first purchased it, you were getting about 42 mpg, which is fantastic. Even though you're now getting around 34 mpg, it's still a great car. I wonder if it's because the batteries are older now or if you're not trying as hard to keep the mpg low. Either way, it's great to hear that you're still enjoying your car, especially since it was loaded with all the accessories when you purchased it new.

  4. Richmond Cormier 2024-11-16

I purchased my 2011 Ford Fusion Hybrid in July 2015. I was fortunate to find one at a low price with very low miles. This car is truly the best I've ever owned. The technology is outstanding and the comfort is superior for a vehicle at this price point. Performance and reliability have been great for a mid-size sedan. This is the first hybrid I've ever owned, and it took some getting used to when the gas engine would shut off as I idled - or the way it doesn't seem to 'start' when I turn the key. But the mileage and easy care have been well worth the adjustment! I would highly recommend a Ford Fusion Hybrid to anyone looking for a vehicle in or near its class.

Hi there! I just wanted to share my experience with my 2010 FFH. It's been a great car and I've found that it gets even better mileage than what was advertised! Of course, your mileage may vary depending on where you're driving and how you're driving. Personally, I've found that I get better mileage on the highway than in town, but that could just be because I live in a small town with limited stop lights and signs. On a recent trip, I even got a best open road mileage of 50.2 mpg! I verified this by filling up and checking the computer figures, which were within 5% of each other. Even on the return trip, I still got an impressive 45.7 mpg. When I first drove the car from Dallas, Texas to my town in Oklahoma, I was thrilled to see that I got 44.7 mpg on the highway, even while driving at speeds of 65-70 mph. Overall, I'm really happy with my FFH and would definitely recommend it to others!
