As of December 2016, over 285,000 units of the Fusion hybrid family have been sold in the United States since 2009, including the plug-in hybrid variant. - Summary: Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 120V Convenience charge cords that were supplied with and sold for use with 2013-2015 Ford C-Max Energi and Fusion Energi vehicles and 2012-2015 Ford Focus Electric vehicles. Cords with part numbers FM58-10B706-AA, FM58-10B706-AB, FM58-10B706-AC, FM58-10B706-AD, FM58-10B706-AE and FM58-10B706-AF were manufactured without thermistors, and during vehicle charging, increased resistance in the house's outlet or wiring can cause the cord to overheat and melt.
- Consequence: An overheated cord can increase the risk of a fire.
- Remedy: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will replace the current cord with a new 120V convenience cord with a thermistor, free of charge. The recall began January 18, 2019. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 18S24.

If you're planning to drive without considering mileage, this car may not be the best fit for you. It operates differently from gas-only cars. When coming to a stop, it's recommended to gently ride the brake for 500 feet to allow the regenerating brakes to gradually slow down the car. This will prevent the brake pads from wearing out quickly. By using the brakes properly, you can avoid wearing them out. For short trips, such as going to the grocery store 2 miles away, the car may not achieve high mileage because the gas motor is not warmed up yet. However, the longer the stretch you go, the more efficient the car becomes. The car performs best at 55 miles per hour, and I typically get 48 to 50 mpg. On the freeway, I get about 40 plus on short distances. During hot weather in Florida, I keep the air conditioning at 75 degrees, which helps greatly since the air conditioning draws a lot of electricity. One of the advantages of a hybrid car is that it has no leaky transmission, only a reliable belt drive. You only need to change the oil every 10,000 miles, and you never need a starter motor because the hybrid motor starts the car instantly. This means that hybrid cars require less maintenance than gas-only vehicles. Additionally, the gauges on the dash show how many gallons have been used and how many miles have been driven on EV Electric only, which is about 50% of the time. Once you get more miles on the gasoline motor and it's broken in, you'll notice a difference. I'd say it should be broken in by 30,000 miles. On average, I save about 35 to 40% on gas used. Even after being rear-ended, hitting a deer, and having a tree fall on it, it still runs like a champ. The silver SE package with upgraded leather and 5 spoke OEM 18” wheels and black tinted windows sounds amazing. Hi there! I just wanted to share my experience with my car. I absolutely love it! The appearance package with the five spoke wheels really makes it stand out and everyone I know thinks it looks outstanding. I was a bit worried about the gas mileage with the non low-rolling resistance tires, but it hasn't seemed to be an issue at all. The handling and driving dynamics are top notch and it's surprisingly quiet. Plus, the seats are super comfortable! The only downside is that I've had some trouble with My Ford Touch, which hasn't lived up to my expectations. But overall, I'm really happy with my car and I hope Ford can fix this issue soon.

I've been driving this car for two months now and I feel like I'm getting the hang of being a hybrid driver. However, I'm not entirely convinced that the car can deliver the advertised 47 MPG. There's an instrument on the dashboard called Fuel Economy that displays your average MPG. I always reset it when I fill up the tank and consistently get 51/52 MPG when I need to refuel. I was thrilled to see that I was getting 52 MPG! However, I also always reset the dashboard TRIP 1 mileage counter when I fill up the tank. I started to notice that I consistently get around 560 miles per gas tank when I end up with 52 MPG. Unless I'm missing something, 560 miles divided by 13.5 gallons is only 41 MPG. I'm a bit confused as to why the dashboard shows 52 MPG when I only get 560 miles per tank, but I'm still enjoying driving this car.

I have put a lot of miles on my car under various conditions. Although I live in Southern California, I cannot attest to significant changes in weather. When I bought this car, it had a rated MPG of 47/47. Ford sent me a check for $750 when they corrected the ratings. While this did not cover the amount of savings I had anticipated, it was still a nice gesture. The car is beautiful and has had minimal problems. It takes some getting used to its size as it feels like a boat. The departure angles on inclines/declines are not good due to the air dam. Unfortunately, my front paint has already begun to wear on the front bumper from so much driving. As of May 2018, I have relocated to Texas and still driving. Repair costs have been next to none outside of general maintenance. I barely use MyFord Touch w/ Navigation thanks to Bluetooth/Cellphone. The vehicle has held up extremely well, and gas mileage is the same if not better than when originally purchased. However, you have to drive it like your grandma stole it to see MPG benefit. I have had about 4 recalls, which were easy to have done and nothing that prevented me from driving the Fusion on a daily basis.

I purchased the 2014 Ford Fusion Hybrid SE in June of 2014 and have driven 35K miles. Despite the advertised 47/47 MPG, I have only been able to achieve 38 MPG, which is disappointing as fuel efficiency was a key factor in my purchase decision. However, I appreciate that Ford promptly issued me a $700 check for 1 year of fuel and apologized for the miscalculation. While I would have preferred a refund or a check that covers my 8 year/125K warranty, I am confident that Ford will continue to work towards improving their products. Although I had planned on replacing my second vehicle with a F-150, I am still considering all options and will make a decision based on what best suits my needs.

Hey there! I wanted to share my experience with my 2014 Ford Fusion. Unfortunately, I've had some issues with it and I wouldn't recommend buying one. I paid $38,600 for it less than 4 years ago and I've been walking for 6 months now. It ran out of gas and hasn't started since. The 2014 Fusion Hybrid did not meet its mpg claims. It is unlikely to achieve more than 34mpg from normal driving and 38mpg from hybrid driving. In comparison to the Prius, which achieves its claimed mpg numbers when driven normally, the Fusion Hybrid falls short of its 47mpg claim unless the driving conditions are optimal. The MyTouch system can be challenging to use, requiring numerous inputs. The navigation system can be particularly difficult to use, so we prefer to use our phones instead.

Hi there! I recently returned my car after driving it for a week. Unfortunately, I found that the gas mileage was not as good as I had hoped. After some back and forth with Ford, they agreed to unwind the deal. It turns out that consumer reports and studies were coming out saying that the gas mileage was grossly over exaggerated. The car was getting 29 mpg on the highway and 38-39 mpg in the city, but only if you drove very conservatively. If you accelerated quickly, turned on the air conditioning, or went up a hill, the gas mileage would decrease a bit.
