Described as a 'light-duty' version of the Land Cruiser by Toyota, it features a different design compared to the full-size model and, up until 2023, it remains the only comfort-oriented Land Cruiser available with a short-wheelbase 3-door version.
As of 2023, the full-size Land Cruiser was available in many markets. Exceptions include the United States (since 2021), Canada (since 1996), Malaysia (which receives the Lexus LX instead), Hong Kong, Macau, South Korea, Brazil, and most of Europe. In Europe, the only countries where the full-size Land Cruiser is officially sold are Gibraltar, Moldova, Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine. The Land Cruiser is hugely popular in the Middle East, Russia, and Australia, and also in Africa where it is used by farmers, the construction industry, non-governmental and humanitarian organizations, the United Nations, national armies (often the pickup version), and irregular armed groups who turn them into "technicals" by mounting machine guns in the rear. I ALSO INQUIRED WHAT I AS THE CONSUMER COULD DO TO DETER THE ISSUE. THEY COULD GIVE NO ADVICE OF COURSE. - Summary: Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2008-2019 Toyota Land Cruiser and Lexus LX 570 vehicles. Over time, the seat belt tension sensor wire harness may break and deactivate the front passenger air bag, knee air bag, and passenger seat-mounted side airbag.
- Consequence: In the event of a crash, deactivated air bags can increase the risk of injury .
- Remedy: Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will modify the front passenger seat belt assembly or replace it with an improved one, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began February 11, 2019. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-888-270-9371 or Lexus customer service at 1-800-255-3987. Toyota's numbers for this recall are Lexus Interim J2L and Remedy JLL, Toyota Interim J15 and Remedy J05.

As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."
- Consequence: An incorrect driver or front passenger air bag may not deploy as intended in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
- Remedy: Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will replace the affected air bag assemblies, free of charge. The recall began September 29, 2017. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-800-331-4331. Toyota's number for this recall is H0S. Lexus' number for this recall is HLD.

- Summary: Southeast Toyota Distributors, LLC (SET) is recalling certain model year 2016 Toyota Yaris, Rav4, Land Cruiser and 4Runner vehicles, and Scion FR-S, iM, and TC vehicles manufactured January 28, 2016, to March 14, 2016. The Load Carrying Capacity Modification Label may not reflect the correct added weight of the installed accessories. As a result, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims for Passenger Cars."
- Consequence: An incorrect label may result in the vehicle being overloaded, increasing the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: SET will notify owners, and provide them a corrected label to be installed over the inaccurate label, free of charge. The recall began on June 3, 2016. Owners may contact SET customer service at 1-866-405-4226. SET's number for this recall is SET16A.

I love cars and have owned a variety of models over the past ten years, including two GMs, one Ram, and four Toyotas. While each car has had its own unique qualities, I have found that nothing compares to the quality, construction, and reliability of a Land Cruiser. However, I understand that not everyone shares my opinion, as evidenced by the LC200's disappointing sales figures. Some may question why they should pay so much for a Toyota with bland styling, and while there may not be a clear answer to that, I believe that those who prioritize badge and styling above all else may be better suited to a Mercedes or Land Rover.

I didn't buy it new, so I can't comment on its value compared to the new retail cost, which is high. However, I think this is a fantastic all-around truck. It's a great family hauler and perfect for getting out into the woods.

Hey there! I just wanted to share my experience with my second Toyota Land Cruiser. My first one was a 1997 Lexus LX450 (a rebadge LC). Over the last 20 years, the Land Cruiser has become a luxurious and refined SUV. While it may not have all the flashy features of its sibling Lexus LX570, Range Rover, or Escalade, I personally prefer the simpler suspension system and reliability of the Land Cruiser. The new electronics definitely add complexity and cost to repair, but most of them are safety-oriented and are welcomed additions for daily driving and off-roading adventures. Speaking of which, the Land Cruiser is by far in its own category when it comes to overlanding vehicles. The only downside is the fuel economy, but I don't mind filling up the tank. I just wish it had a greater range. Oh, and a quick update after the first 10K miles - there was only one issue with the factory wireless headsets, but Toyota quickly replaced them with an updated set. The car drove flawlessly over the last 10K miles and even through 2 snow storms. Although I will say that the factory-fitted Dunlop all-season tires were sub-par in the snow/ice, so I'll probably change them out for a set of BF KO2 AT tires when next winter rolls around.

I hope you're doing well! I noticed that the leg room up front could be a bit more spacious, which seems to be a common issue with Japanese cars, even with the Land Cruiser. While it may not be the most efficient vehicle, it performs very well and is expected to be extremely reliable. Overall, I'm really enjoying the vehicle, although I do wish it had a bit more pep.

I bought my 2015 Toyota Land Cruiser almost four years ago and unfortunately, I have not been satisfied with my purchase. Although this car has a loyal following, it lacks many features that are standard in newer models, such as LED headlights, automatic high beams, blind-spot assist, lane-keeping assist, radar cruise control that works under 20 MPH, a power liftgate, 360 camera, soft-touch materials on the lower dash/doors, and park assist. These features are expected in a car that retails for 90 thousand dollars. Additionally, I have had some issues with the customer service at my local dealer, which is an hour away. Despite these issues, I am hopeful that Toyota will continue to improve their vehicles and customer service in the future.So to summarize, while this vehicle may have charming looks and off-road prowess, it unfortunately falls short in several areas. The standard equipment is lackluster, the infotainment system is out of date even for its 2015 model year, and it only gets 12-13 MPG. Additionally, service has been done incorrectly and there is no loaner vehicle provided. At a cost of ninety thousand dollars, it may not be the best investment for those looking to spend their money wisely. However, I am excited to replace it with a 2020 GLS.

I did not purchase the car due to poor detailing and interior damages that were not mentioned. However, mechanically the car was fine. I will continue my search for a well-cared-for vehicle. When paying 64k for a 5-year-old car, it is reasonable to expect a well-taken-care-of vehicle.
