These vans are really cool when it comes to a minivan. I like them a lot and there's plenty of room.

I'm so glad to hear that your husband was okay after the accident! It sounds like the Dodge Grand Caravan SE really held up well and kept your family safe. It's great to hear that you're so loyal to this vehicle and I hope it continues to serve you well. Thanks for sharing your story!
-
The air conditioning was the only issue I encountered, unfortunately it went out at around 150,000 miles. However, I'm happy to report that I haven't experienced any other mechanical problems. Even with 232,000 miles on the clock, it's still going strong!

This thing has been amazing! Although there were some minor leaks at 114k miles, they were 99% fixed with new head gaskets. The van is surprisingly fun to drive, even for a minivan. It is incredibly reliable and extremely comfortable. With enough room for 6 adults and a little storage in the back, no one feels cramped at all. It even hauls my light pop up tent trailer/camper without any issues. In fact, I loved it so much that I bought another one!

This is definitely a great vehicle for our family, especially with three kids under 6. We often have to haul around 7-8 people with relatives, and it handles it smoothly and quietly. However, we have been experiencing some small issues such as 4 brake jobs at 50k, tensioner and serpentine belt, rear calipers, and now no heat (we live in arctic Minnesota). I was wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences with the thermostat or radiator?
Jordon Hill 2024-10-25
We have experienced multiple issues with the brakes, having to replace them four times in just 48,000 miles. Additionally, we have had to replace the sensors twice in the last three months, and the drive belt tensioner is on the verge of failure. It is disappointing to note that this van has had more problems in a shorter period than our previous Subaru, which we owned for seven years.
Curtis Dickinson 2024-09-17
I used to like this van, but unfortunately, it experienced several issues shortly after the warranty period ended. These included A/C repair ($1,400), transmission sensor replacement ($140), back door latch repair ($150), and fan belt tensioner replacement ($130). While it is disappointing that these issues occurred, I believe that they are not indicative of poor quality typical of most American products. While this may be my last Dodge/Chrysler purchase, I will continue to consider American vehicles in the future.
Jonathan Dare 2024-09-02
I really enjoy driving this van, especially on long trips. It's capable of getting 24mpg at 70mph, which is great. However, I have had some issues with the van and it has been in the shop quite a bit. The biggest problem has been with the master brake cylinder, which I have had to replace 4 times in just 36K miles. Additionally, the dash dials have stopped working on several occasions and once a switch broke, leaving the van stuck in 2nd gear. Despite these issues, I have developed a good relationship with the dealer and even have my own coffee mug there.
Donavon Bartoletti 2024-08-22
I hope you're doing well! I wanted to let you know that I purchased this lovely van used, and it came with 54,000 documented, well-cared-for miles. While the transmission was replaced at 44,000 miles, I thought that meant all the bugs had been worked out. Unfortunately, within two weeks of purchasing it, I had to spend $900 on a computer and auto stick handle. This van has been quite expensive to maintain, and now there's a metallic sound when it idles that concerns me. I've decided to put it up for sale. Let me know if you're interested!
