The only thing I noticed was the flashing off and on of the dashboard display which shows your speed and mileage on the vehicle and my airbag light did not display at all. My VIN number was covered up with a sticker on the dashboard of my vehicle as well and the one on the drivers door was missing. My car was stolen from Ohio and I found it in Oregon at Capitol Toyota. - Summary: The Dodge dart has a malfunction that might have contributed in many crashes this car has been involved in. The issue is that some darts will experience a malfunction where the lights inside the car will randomly flicker (should they be on), digital dash will also flicker and navigation screen will either restart or just shut off. The biggest problem in all of this is that the power steering will always temporarily shut off and make it extremely hard to steer the car for a few seconds and this can happen during turns. The reset can also happen many times in a row forcing the power steering to be shut down for multiple seconds longer than the avg like 5-8 seconds. within that reset all lights on the dash will flick on and off and if you have cruise control on, it will shut off permanently until you restart the car. Sometimes the reset doesn't successfully turn on and the navigation will remain off indefinitely and will blast hot air into your cabin forcing you to park and restart your car. If your dart slows down to a stop the power steering will shut off forcing you to attempt to park your car with an extremely stiff power steering or you can restart your car for a chance to regain some assitance from the PS. Sometimes putting the car in reverse shuts off the car. The issue that the car displays when these errors occur is "Service Power Steering" or "Service Electronic Braking System" weird request when the braking is just fine. Dealership cannot diagnose this issue because the codes seemingly clear themselves as if nothing has ever happened. I have found a few others with similar issues to mine on Reddit as well as The Dodge dart forums. This issue also happens at random. There isn't a trigger or requirement for it to happen. You can be sitting at a parking lot with the car on in park and it might just reset itself for no reason and give you a stiff wheel.

- Summary: Since my purchase of this vehicle over two years ago, I have consistently had problems with the card shutting off while driving. It has happened no less than six times, two within the last week. Each time I have been fortunate enough to get the car to the side of the road, restart it and then continue with no immediate shut down. My local dealer has tried without success, to pinpoint the problem, but since no codes show up, they are at a loss as to what the problem may be. My grandfather, who is writing this for me, has found a number of similar complaints with Darts of various years and models. The issue is never resolved by the dealerships and the manufacturer has no known service bulletins on file. We are not sure of any accidents, but a car shutting off without advanced notice and no viable reason for the loss of power looks like a serious safety issue just waiting to claim one or more lives. The insurance company was told, but they won't do anything. If I have an accident I will probably be at fault, especially if I am blocking another vehicle's right of way. I need guidance on what legal recourse, if any that I have. The vehicle does not qualify for the PA Lemon Laws since it was purchased as a new vehicle from the dealer. I don't understand why this vehicle was not recalled with the others of its kind

The 2013 and 2014 dodge darts with a 2.4l engine had a recall. Recall number R63 / NHTSA 15V-800. “The brake booster on your vehicle may experience engine oil migration from the vacuum pump, through the vacuum supply tube, and into the brake booster. Prolonged brake booster diaphragm exposure to engine oil could cause the diaphragm to fail. This could lead to a loss of brake booster assist and/or an air leaking sound. A loss of brake booster assist could require the driver to apply additional brake pedal force to stop the vehicle. The lack of brake booster assist could change the braking characteristics of the vehicle and cause a crash without warning.” This recall needs to be extended to the 2016 models. I no longer feel safe driving this vehicle and there are no brake boosters available through the dealerships or after market.

So we changed brake pads and calibers in rear because had not be but few months on front brakes. Still no brakes they was then bleed to be sure and had little brakes and drove it home and the abs code came up and brakes went to floor. I then took it to mechanic and they check code and was abs service and he check abs brake module and was fine he then replaced the vacuum pump and still a hard brake pedal with further investigation he says the master cylinder and brake booster needs to be replaced. In doing some research on the dodge dart there is a recall for 2012-2014 dodge darts brake system which involves the vacuum pump and master cylinder and brake booster. We was able to avoid a accident but what if there are other darts the same year as ours with same issues and aren’t as lucky.

Dealership doesn’t care as long as they get their money. Engine light and slip light constant on. The car is dangerous to and dealer won’t issue me refund or any other car. I’m scared for my safety everytime I drive this car. Car will randomly cut off in middle of traffic. I will have to turn car on and off just to get it to come back on. - Summary: Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2013-2016 Dodge Dart vehicles equipped with 6-speed automatic transmissions. The shifter cable bushing may fail allowing the shift cable to detach from the transmission.
- Consequence: If the shifter cable detaches from the transmission, the vehicle may not perform the shifts performed by the driver. Additionally, despite selecting PARK with the shifter, the vehicle may roll away. These scenarios may increase the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the transmission side shifter cable bushing, free of charge. The recall began September 5, 2019. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is V34.

- Summary: Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling various Dodge, Chrysler, and RAM vehicles equipped with Kidde Plastic-Handle or Push Button 'Pindicator' Fire Extinguishers. A list of the affected trailer models is available at: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/2017/RMISC-17V824-0103.pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or requiring excessive force to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. - Summary: Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2016 Dodge Dart vehicles manufactured April 13, 2015, to June 7, 2016. Due to voltage spikes caused by a problem within the windshield washer pump, the windshield wiper circuit may fail.
- Consequence: Without functioning windshield wipers, the driver's visibility may be reduced, increasing the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the windshield washer pumps, free of charge. The recall began on December 28, 2016. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is S83.

- Summary: Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain model year 2016 Dodge Dart vehicles manufactured July 25, 2015, to December 16, 2015 and equipped with a 2.0L engine and a manual transmission. Additionally included are certain 2015 Dodge Dart vehicles similarly equipped and brought in for dealer service between September 15, 2015 and January 12, 2016. In the affected vehicles, the powertrain control module that monitors the engine torque output may be missing a backup layer of software.
- Consequence: Without a backup layer of software, the control module may fail to prevent an un-commanded torque event, increasing the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will update the Engine Control Module software, free of charge. The recall began on March 25, 2016. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is S10.

When I met Gladys D (The Dart), I wasn't quite sure which car to choose. My options were between a Chevy Spark, Kia Soul, Hyundai Accent, Chevy HHR, and a Hyundai Sonata (once I arrived at the dealer, the Sonata was already sold, of course). The Dodge Dart just seemed more logical in my head, only because the other vehicles had already had 90,000 to 100,000 miles and were 11' to 18' models. JEEZ! Gladys had super low miles. I had never had a Dodge before, so I thought, 'What the heck!' Honestly, thus far, I have been really impressed. I feel like a journalist getting payola from other makers. This car has been beyond non-problematic. I was informed during the process that there were two outstanding recalls, which was no big deal. I made an appointment and they were taken care of. I think the review on the Dart is biased. The car is compared to other small cars like Corolla, Sentra, Impreza, and Cruze, yet the Dart has more heaviness, which I like because I feel solid. When I need to punch it, Gladys goes! Great car... I was always taught that if you take care of your car, it will take care of you. America can make a good small car... American car makers just need to stay consistent and stop giving up so quickly.

Shop around to see what else is available in the price range. Please note that the 2.4L GT is not a performance car. However, it would make a decent daily driver. Unfortunately, the cost is too high. Additionally, it may handle poorly on wet or icy roads and there are a lot of blind spots when merging or changing lanes.

I can't believe how lucky I am with this car and the customer service. I'm so happy and blessed to say that my car is running great with no problems. But I know that if I had an issue, I would be taken care of!

Great car! We found that the more we drove it, the better the gas mileage got. The only thing we noticed is that it's a bit underpowered.

I found this rental to be quite uncomfortable. Unfortunately, I couldn't get comfortable due to my bad back, so my wife had to drive. I tried using a pillow, but it didn't help much. The headrest was also not adjustable and constantly pushed my head forward, which was quite frustrating. Despite the decent gas mileage, the car lacked any kind of wow factor. While it pains me to say it as a Ford enthusiast, you might be better off with a used car from a Japanese brand. I wouldn't keep this car even if it was given to me for free, but that's just my personal preference. If you're over 5'5 and 150 pounds, you might feel a bit squashed in this car. If that's the case, I recommend asking for another car or an upgrade.

It's bittersweet to write this, but it's time to say goodbye to my 2016 Dodge Dart SXT 2.4L. I bought it brand new (probably for too much) and it's been my trusty companion ever since. With almost 140,000 miles, I've decided to trade it in for a vehicle with fewer miles, hoping to get another 5 years of driving out of it. Unfortunately, the Airbag Control Module malfunctioned, which is a safety concern. Despite my efforts to replace it, Dodge no longer makes the part and I've had no luck with dealerships or Mopar customer service. Despite this setback, the Dart has been a reliable car, averaging 30-32mpg over the years and still getting 29mpg with 95% highway driving. It's always been a pleasure to drive and I've never had any major issues, except for some trouble starting up over the past year. I've replaced several parts, but the issue remains a mystery. The check engine light comes on occasionally for an emissions issue, but it hasn't affected the car's performance. The only other ongoing issue is a rough engine vibration, but overall, it's been a great car. Rest in peace, Odysseus. It was real, it was fun, but it wasn't always real fun.

I had this car for almost a week and, in hindsight, I should have picked the Corolla. While the car is decent for a rental, there are better choices out there. The 2.4L engine is smooth and adequate, but the biggest issue is that the transmission has a copious amount of slack. Under steady acceleration, the transmission works just fine, but when the traffic is moving slowly, the power train slack and bounce when going into the accelerator is awful. The front seats are mounted too high for my 6'1Hey there! It seems like sales have been disappointing, but don't worry, we can work together to improve them!

This car does not meet my expectations for a full-sized vehicle. It lacks power and modern features such as USB ports. Additionally, the interior design is subpar.
