2021 Chrysler 300 problems
The Chrysler 300 is a full-size car manufactured and marketed by Stellantis North America and its predecessor companies as a four-door sedan and station wagon in its first generation (model years 2005–2010) and solely as a four-door sedan in its second generation (model years 2011–2023).
The second generation 300 was marketed as the Chrysler 300C in the United Kingdom and Ireland and as the Lancia Thema in the remainder of Europe.
Background
The Chrysler 300 continues a tradition of large front engine, rear-wheel drive V8-powered luxury sedans the company has offered, starting in the 1940s with the Chrysler Saratoga and Chrysler New Yorker, followed by the Chrysler Windsor, Chrysler Newport and the Chrysler Cordoba, with the last rear wheel drive sedan, the Chrysler Fifth Avenue that ended production in 1989.
When the company began operations in 1925, the Chrysler Six was entered as a roadster in the 1925 24 Hours of Le Mans where it finished the race, and in 1926, the Chrysler Imperial started the tradition of luxury and performance products. Starting in 1955, the Imperial became its own luxury brand and offered the Imperial Newport along with the Imperial Crown. The original Chrysler FirePower Hemi engine powered the Cunningham C-5R, a special racecar, and finished the 1952 Le Mans, 1953 Le Mans, and 1954 Le Mans endurance races, as well as the 1953 12 Hours of Sebring.

Common 2021 Chrysler 300 problems
Based on complaints from owners of the Chrysler 300 2021, several common problems have been reported. Here is a detailed list of these issues:
- Uconnect Infotainment System Malfunctions:
- The Uconnect system in the Chrysler 300 2021 has been reported to boot into a blank screen, freeze while in reverse, become unresponsive to touch, or reboot randomly. This issue can be frustrating for drivers, affecting the usability of the infotainment system and potentially causing safety concerns.
- Active Head Restraint Deployment:
- Some Chrysler vehicles, including the 300, have experienced issues with the active head restraints deploying unexpectedly. This malfunction can lead to discomfort for passengers and potentially cause injuries due to the sudden deployment of the head restraints.
- Door Panel Defects:
- In the 2nd generation Chrysler 300, there have been complaints about door panels warping and pulling away from the window, creating unsightly gaps. This defect not only affects the aesthetics of the vehicle but can also lead to further problems with the door's functionality and sealing.
- Takata Airbag Recall:
- The propellent used in Takata airbags installed in some Chrysler vehicles, including the 300, has been reported to explode with excessive force, leading to the inflators rupturing into small metal pieces. This poses a significant safety risk to vehicle occupants, especially in low-speed accidents.
- Electronic Gear Shifter Issues:
- Fiat-Chrysler (FCA) made a switch to an electronically controlled gear shifter in some Chrysler models, resulting in numerous incidents of rollaways. The design of the gear shifter has been criticized for being unintuitive, leading to safety concerns and accidents.
- TIPM Electrical Problems:
- The Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) in Chrysler vehicles has been associated with various electrical malfunctions. This component acts as a command center for the car's electrical functions, and when dysfunctional, it can lead to a range of electrical issues affecting the vehicle's performance and safety.
These reported problems highlight some of the key issues faced by owners of the Chrysler 300 2021. Addressing these concerns promptly and effectively is crucial to ensure the safety, reliability, and overall satisfaction of Chrysler 300 owners.

SEAT BELTS PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-10-07
- VIN: 2C3CCAAG4MH
- Components: SEAT BELTS
- Summary: -Took Vehicle to Service Center, they told me to call 800-992-1997 and ask for authorization for replacement. - Its at the service center for Larry Miller Chrysler, so I am not sure why they are not calling to get approvals. The seatbelt should never have unraveled or torn, they keep saying my warranty just expired, but this is a factory issue, no seatbelt should be tearing every and I have had the car for 3 years now. My concern has nothing to do with the safety recall, this is a separate issue. My seatbelt on the driver side has began unraveling, Ive been driving since 16 teen and never saw this before. I went to buckle my seatbelt about a week agao from 10/14/2024 and it would not pull through and I notice it was actually torn in half to the middle mark of the canvas belt. This is a FYI, i have taken it to dealership, they are looking it over. They did without looking just say to me out the blue I have never heard of this you must have cut it. ( That was insulting, why would I, [XXX] just cut my seatbelt)? The Larry Miller Dealership, service center is a joke. AIR BAGS PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-04-01
- VIN: 2C3CCAAG3MH
- Components: AIR BAGS
- Summary: I think that’s it’s appalling that the NHTSA cannot put more pressure on Chrysler to figure out a faster way to fix this deadly defect that is killing people. How long am I expected to wait for this repair? What liability does Chrysler have if I get into an accident and am injured by shrapnel from the air bag igniter. I thought that the NHTSA is there to protect the public. The mission of the NHTSA is to "Save lives, prevent injuries and reduce economic costs due to road traffic crashes, through education, research, safety standards and enforcement activity." I believe that you and Chrysler have both failed.

- Summary: I have a 2021 Chrysler 300 S and before I had purchased this vehicle, there was a safety recall "fixed" for the front windshield adhesive. Whom ever completed the recall issue, did not do it correctly. The whole top on the windshield is really wavy. I'm very concerned about this because this is my daily driver and I have 3 kids. It's obvious that a windshield is not supposed to flex like it is.

Our 2019 Chrysler 300 Touring When rotating tires, it's best to rebalance the two tires put on the front. Save the back tires for the next 5K rotation. This method balances all tires every 10K, without any extra cost. The rear tires are never balanced less than 10K. Here's a tip: head to your dealer and purchase the ESSENTIAL Care Maintenance Plan (Mopar Code ECPSR23N). This plan includes THREE full synthetic oil and filter changes, THREE full set-tire rotations, and multipoint inspections for 2 years (about 30K miles). The cost is approximately $170.00 (depending on sales tax). With this plan, you'll know everything about how much tread is left, how much brake wear is used, etc. The Mopar Maintenance Contract is honored at every Chrysler/Jeep Dealership. We have had no problems with any of the electrical, heating, cooling, suspension, or engine/transmission/drivetrain. Our town is 5-8K population and three nearby towns (0-15 miles away) are in the 10-25K population range (a combo of mostly Suburban driving) with enough stop and go in the larger towns and on the state roads so that we average 24-25 mpg local and 30-31 mpg at 75 mph on the Interstate. We do some zippier driving on getaways (e.g., for long trips like a 650 mile day drive or more) and have not gotten less than 29-30 mpg at 'sub-light' speed. We are not hyper-milers by any means, although I do slow down to upcoming stop lights instead of breaking hard at the last second (with On the interstates, the Chrysler 300 with Mercedes holdover suspension tweaks minimizes side winds on tracking, even at sustained speeds up to 90+ mph. Chrysler's U-Connect works very well and updates while you drive, with no SD or CD to use or cost to pay. However, the main drawback is that the car is so well balanced (front-to-rear) that RWD traction is a problem in snow over 5-6 inches deep unless you get snow tires or chains. In our locale, if any deep snow is forecast (where plowing is very delayed), we went with a set of 'self-adjusting' titanium tire chains on 20' low profile wheels instead of extra rims and snow tires. They can be put on in 10 minutes or less the night before a big snow and then taken off 2 days later. This allowed me to be the plow recently for any imaginable emergency or shopping trip. We chose RWD instead of AWD because we wanted to get the 'best' mpg instead of paying for the AWD option and being penalized by added fuel cost for 100K miles over 5-6 years. Lastly, when you look at TCO (True Cost to OWN) on Edmunds, the repair and maintenance cost is pretty minimal except when you buy a new set of tires in year 2 and year 5 (which distorts repair and maintenance costs). Signing out, Scoobypapa.

Looking for a 4-door sedan? Look no further! The sport model is here and it looks like a Bentley both inside and out. The stereo is awesome and the leather is of great quality. The car is fast and very quiet inside, allowing you to whisper to your partner and still hear each other. The wheels are 20 inches and the car is built on the Mercedes Benz platform that Chrysler had with Daimler. We paid $46000.00 for it and we absolutely love it! Additionally, it has lane control, brake control, and everything else you could want. If it had Mercedes on the outside, it would cost $80,000.00.

I've owned many vehicles since the 90's, well over 20, mostly GM. My '18 300S V8 is the best vehicle I've ever owned. It has renewed my love of driving again. So much so, that my wife drove it and went out and got a Grand Cherokee V8, and my daughter went out and got a Charger. Long live the FCA triplets!

The 2021 Chrysler 300 is a great car, but unfortunately, I experienced a significant issue during my test drive. Even with only 18” normal wheels, the ride was too harsh and I could feel every bump in the road. This is not what I expected from a luxury car. Despite being the most comfortable Touring L model yet, I decided not to purchase the car due to the uncomfortable ride.

I've been driving Chryslers since I was 18 and have owned mostly every car Chrysler has ever had. My goal was to own a 300 someday, and now I finally have one! I really like it, it has a smooth ride and I was pleasantly surprised by how smoothly the 8-speed transmission shifts. The only issue I have is that my front fascia doesn't line up with my fenders, and unfortunately, the dealer said there's nothing they can do. I noticed that some new 300s have the same problem. I hope Chrysler finds a solution to this issue!

Since the day of purchase, I have been experiencing a whining noise from the car. The rack and pinion were replaced, but the issue persisted. The dealership has now identified the problem as the electric pump, which is currently on order. Additionally, the backup camera has been replaced, but the new one still has visibility issues. The radio's favorite saving feature is not functioning despite attempts to update and reset it. As a previous owner of a 2010 Chrysler 300 S, I am disappointed with this purchase and the issues I have encountered within the first 5 months.
