The Chrysler 300 is a full-size car manufactured and marketed by Stellantis North America and its predecessor companies as a four-door sedan and station wagon in its first generation (model years 2005–2010) and solely as a four-door sedan in its second generation (model years 2011–2023).

The second generation 300 was marketed as the Chrysler 300C in the United Kingdom and Ireland and as the Lancia Thema in the remainder of Europe.

Background

The Chrysler 300 continues a tradition of large front engine, rear-wheel drive V8-powered luxury sedans the company has offered, starting in the 1940s with the Chrysler Saratoga and Chrysler New Yorker, followed by the Chrysler Windsor, Chrysler Newport and the Chrysler Cordoba, with the last rear wheel drive sedan, the Chrysler Fifth Avenue that ended production in 1989.

When the company began operations in 1925, the Chrysler Six was entered as a roadster in the 1925 24 Hours of Le Mans where it finished the race, and in 1926, the Chrysler Imperial started the tradition of luxury and performance products. Starting in 1955, the Imperial became its own luxury brand and offered the Imperial Newport along with the Imperial Crown. The original Chrysler FirePower Hemi engine powered the Cunningham C-5R, a special racecar, and finished the 1952 Le Mans, 1953 Le Mans, and 1954 Le Mans endurance races, as well as the 1953 12 Hours of Sebring.

Common 2019 Chrysler 300 problems

Based on the complaints from owners of the Chrysler 300 2019 model, several common problems have been reported:

  • Defective Airbags: Several recalls have been made for numerous 2005-2010 Chrysler models due to airbag issues. Dealers typically replace the faulty airbags free of charge to address this issue.
  • Rough Shifts: Owners of 2019 Chrysler 300s have reported transmission issues like shuddering and rough shifting. Software updates on the powertrain control and transmission control module are potential solutions to address these transmission problems and improve driving performance.
  • Defective Power Windows: Power windows in 2004-2015 Chrysler 300 model years may experience issues due to a broken motor or worn-out window regulator cable. This problem can lead to inconvenience and potential safety concerns, requiring repairs or replacements to ensure proper window functionality.
  • Engine Troubles: Some Chrysler 300 models have received complaints about jarring noises from the engine, oil leaks, and even blown engines before reaching 100,000 miles. These engine issues can be costly to repair and may impact the overall performance and reliability of the vehicle, necessitating thorough inspections and maintenance to prevent further damage.

These common problems with the Chrysler 300 2019 model highlight the importance of regular maintenance and prompt attention to any issues that arise to ensure the longevity and performance of the vehicle.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL PROBLEM

  • Date Of Incident: 2024-09-28
  • VIN: 2C3CCAAG6KH

At that point, an error populates on the dash and the acceleration stops with cruise control disengagement as well. The issue is fixed upon placing the car back in Drive. Unsolicited acceleration puts the driver and others on the road at risk. The issue has not been presented to a dealer or service center for review and has not been inspected by other entities. No dash messages or warnings occurred prior to the failure.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,EXTERIOR LIGHTING PROBLEM

  • Date Of Incident: 2020-07-23
  • VIN: 2C3CCABT8KH
  • Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,EXTERIOR LIGHTING
  • Summary: Within the first year I had the vehicle each of the head lights failed. Still under warranty the Dealer determined that the fuses were bad and charged me $90 each time to replace the fuses. I now have an issue with the passenger side head light. Initially it was an interment off-on condition. Now it is continuously off. I have not had this one fixed yet. but I suspect that the fuse block is defective and is not securing the fuse (ie a loose connection), which would be evident.by signs of arcing between the fuse tang and the fuse block contacts. Minor arcing between the two contacts would diminish current flow between the contacts until the light would no longrer come on.

STEERING,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,EXTERIOR LIGHTING PROBLEM

Anything and everything that could read information out wrong was going off. The check engine light. The brake system. Transmission. Etc. just everything was lit up on the dash. The car would lock and unlock on its own. The windshield wipers would come on and turn off by themselves. The transmission is electric too, and it would want to lock up when you tried to shift it to park. This car has truly been a nightmare for me. I was the second owner. It was sold to me by Crain Ford of Little Rock. I was never told anything about any recall.

UNKNOWN OR OTHER PROBLEM

  • Date Of Incident: 2023-02-17
  • VIN: 2C3CCAEG3KH

Then, when you park and turn it off, it won’t start again. Doesn’t even try to start. This also has happened while driving and I had no choice, but to drive it or be stuck an hour from home at 1am. Negative 2019 Chrysler 300 car reviews

  1. Prince Trantow 2024-04-05

The suspension on these things is terrible.

Positive 2019 Chrysler 300 car reviews

  1. Garland Hudson 2024-11-02

Smooth ride and super sleek features!!

  2. Lester Schmeler 2024-10-13

It's a full-size sedan with nice, comfy heated seats and a smooth ride. The large trunk space, lit cup holders, uconnect, auto high beams, apple car play, push start, and small knob gear shifter make it a really nice vehicle if you're looking for something that can comfortably hold 5 people. And did I forget to mention how fast it is? Well, it's fast for a V6!

  3. Isaiah Roberts 2024-10-07

I've owned many vehicles since the 90's, well over 20, mostly GM. My '18 300S V8 is the best vehicle I've ever owned. It has renewed my love of driving again. So much so, that my wife drove it and went out and got a Grand Cherokee V8, and my daughter went out and got a Charger. Long live the FCA triplets!

  4. Junius Willms 2024-09-18

It’s a great car and very stable. UPDATE: The car has great performance and is fun to drive. The only minor caveat is that my car radio shuts off occasionally for no reason.

  5. Lavern Wolff 2024-08-25

As a former owner of both the 2010 and 2017 Ford Taurus models, I can say that I was generally happy with the car. However, I couldn't help but notice the Chrysler 300 every time it passed me on the road. While the Taurus was comfortable and spacious, the exterior design was just 'okay'. On the other hand, the Chrysler 300 has a bold and masculine look that really stands out. Recently, I purchased a 2019 Chrysler 300 with a V6 engine for better gas mileage, and I am extremely satisfied with my decision. The car has a luxurious feel and plenty of power, achieving an impressive 27mpg on the road. Although I have not owned the car for very long, I am proud to drive such a beautiful and spacious sedan. I would give it five stars if it weren't for a few minor issues. For example, the upgraded Harmon Kardon stereo system is not quite as good as the 'Sony Clear Phase Audio' I had in my Taurus. Additionally, the 'Full Speed Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking' feature only works when cruise control is engaged, so it's important to remain attentive while driving in everyday traffic. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase and would highly recommend the Chrysler 300 to anyone looking for a stylish and comfortable sedan.
