The Cadillac Eldorado is a luxury car manufactured and marketed by Cadillac from 1952 until 2002 over twelve generations.
The Eldorado was at or near the top of the Cadillac line. The original 1953 Eldorado convertible and the Eldorado Brougham models of 1957–1960 had distinct bodyshells and were the most expensive models that Cadillac offered those years. The Eldorado was never less than second in price after the Cadillac Series 75 limousine until 1966. Starting in 1967 the Eldorado retained its premium position in the Cadillac price structure, but was manufactured in high volumes on a unique, two-door personal luxury car platform.
The Eldorado carried the Fleetwood designation from 1965 through 1972, and was a modern revival of the pre-war Cadillac V-12 and Cadillac V-16 roadsters and convertibles.

This car is virtually maintenance-free, with the exception of oil changes and tire balance/rotations. I recently replaced the water pump and left side power window switch on 10/28/2004. The best part is that future water pump replacements are covered at no cost when using AC/Delco parts. The only downside of this model is the lack of rear passenger seating space and blind side visibility on the rear passenger side. However, the car's performance is absolutely superb! With 300 horsepower and excellent maneuverability, it compares favorably with a BMW 745 Turbo I once owned. This car would have made a tremendous two-seater sports car. I wouldn't trade it for anything else.

Beautiful automobile, fun to drive (especially, for such a large 'ride') and all the features you'd ever wish for. However, I believe General Motors/Cadillac could still work on their quality. I have owned several of these 'fine' automobiles and will admit, there has been improvement, although not enough for the price and 'class' of this vehicle.

I really enjoyed driving this car, but unfortunately, it had some major issues before it even hit 60,000 miles. Despite taking great care of it and following the maintenance schedule in the owner's manual, I had to replace the engine and transmission, as well as the alternator three times, the ECM twice, and the shocks, all before it reached 70,000 miles. Thankfully, I had an aftermarket warranty that covered the cost of the repairs, which were quite expensive.

Although some reviews for the Eldo are excellent, my experience has been quite different. From day one, I have encountered several issues, including a blown head gasket just a month after purchase. Despite replacing the engine, I have continued to experience problems every month, such as issues with the window motor, climate control motor, door panel, and trunk latch. However, I am confident that these issues are not representative of American cars as a whole, and I look forward to exploring other options in the future.
