The Cadillac CTS is a luxury car, manufactured and marketed by General Motors from 2003 until 2019 across three generations.
Initially available as a 4-door sedan on the GM Sigma platform, GM had offered the second generation CTS in three body styles: 4-door sedan, 2-door coupe, and 5-door sport wagon also using the Sigma platform — and the third generation was offered only as a sedan, using a stretched version of the GM Alpha platform. High performance sedan variants were offered for each generation, as the CTS-V — with wagon and coupe variants offered for the second generation.
Wayne Cherry and Kip Wasenko designed the exterior of the first generation CTS, marking the production debut of a design language marketed as "Art and Science," first used on the Evoq concept car. John Manoogian III directed the second generation CTS design. Bob Boniface and Robin Krieg designed the exterior of the third generation CTS.
The CTS ended production in 2019 and was replaced by the CT5, which shared its platform with the third and final generation of the CTS in addition to the smaller CT4.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued 3 recalls for different components of the 2010 Cadillac Cts.
- Manufacturer: General Motors LLC
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM:IGNITION
- Summary: This defect can affect the safe operation of the airbag system. Until this recall is performed, customers should remove all items from their key rings, leaving only the ignition key. The key fob (if applicable), should also be removed from the key ring. General Motors LLC (GM) notified the agency on July 2, 2014 that they are recalling 554,328 model year 2003-2014 Cadillac CTS vehicles manufactured August 16, 2001, to April 28, 2014, and 2004-2006 Cadillac SRX vehicles manufactured March 20, 2003, to August 11, 2006. In these models, the weight on the key ring and/or road conditions or some other jarring event may cause the ignition switch to move out of the run position, turning off the engine.
- Consequence: If the key is not in the run position, the air bags may not deploy if the vehicle is involved in a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
- Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will install two key rings and an insert in the key slot or a cover over the key head on all ignition keys, free of charge. The recall began on September 15, 2014. Owners may contact Cadillac customer service at 1-800-458-8006. GM's number for this recall is 14172.

- Summary: GENERAL MOTORS IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2009-2010 CADILLAC CTS VEHICLES. - Consequence: THE DRIVER MAY EXPERIENCE SUDDEN CHANGES WITH VEHICLE HANDLING AND MAY NOT BE ABLE TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
- Remedy: DEALERS WILL CLEAN ALL WAX RESIDUE FROM THE REAR SUSPENSION TOE LINK AND INSTALL TWO NEW JAM NUTS. IF NECESSARY THE REAR SUSPENSION TOE LINK MAY BE REPLACED. THIS SERVICE WILL BE PERFORMED FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN ON OR BEFORE MARCH 24, 2011. Like any car, there are a few faults that I can find. However, I must say that it's a good handling car. Although the seats could stand an improvement, they are still comfortable enough. I have the 3.6, 304 hp and it's a great engine. It's a shame that GM dumbs the car down with that 3.0 liter which a lot of people at GM dislike. Overall, I'm quite satisfied with my car.

Hi there! I came across a 2010 CTS luxury edition with manual transmission and very low mileage. As someone who has owned a few CTS cars before, I can confidently say that I absolutely love these cars. I wanted to let you know that they tend to depreciate quite quickly, which makes them a fantastic buy on the used market.

I traded in a Cadillac DTS, but I used to drive a Lexus RX. While the Cadillac is a great looking and driving car, my fear of fit and finish of American made cars has unfortunately come true. Although it has some great amenities and excellent pick-up, it lacks the quality and additional options that foreign car makers like Lexus and Mercedes offer. My biggest complaint is a constant whistle from the sunroof that the dealer cannot get rid of. It's disappointing that a car that can cost up to $50K has this type of defect. I have never had any issues with Toyota, Nissan or Lexus vehicles before this purchase.

After researching the Audi S4, A6, BMW 335I & Mercedes E350, I found that they were all quite expensive for what they offered. However, I was fortunate enough to find a great deal that included everything I was looking for. I had the pleasure of working with Hill Cadillac in Newtown Square PA, and I must say that the entire buying experience was exceptional. I highly recommend them to anyone in search of a reliable and trustworthy dealership. Unfortunately, I did not receive a response from Armen Cadillac when I inquired about a CTS. It was their loss! The car I ended up purchasing is truly amazing in terms of its styling, performance, and luxury. I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a great package at an affordable price.

I bought a 2010 leftover and initially considered returning it during the first week. Although I generally like it, I have noticed that the interior storage is inadequate and the mileage is less than expected. Additionally, the visibility borders on being dangerous, but I have found ways to compensate such as angle parking only on the end of the row and making only right-hand turns. Previously, I owned a 1998 Q45, and while the CTS is not in the same class, I appreciate that it is American-made with RWD and is probably the best option available.

I purchased the car used, and unfortunately experienced some issues with it. However, I was able to successfully address each problem as it arose, including the rear end, driveshaft, and computer part. While it required some investment, I am confident in the repairs made and the overall quality of the vehicle.

I recently purchased a CTS Premium AWD Cadillac and traded in my 2008 Cad.DTS. Unfortunately, I'm not entirely satisfied with my new vehicle. The seats are quite hard and the ride is not as smooth as I had hoped. In fact, my wife and I felt a bit ill after driving the 70 miles from the dealer to our home. Additionally, the cruise control doesn't seem to hold within 3-4 miles per hour, and the service department informed me that there are no adjustments available. I did encounter an issue with the grille-bumper assembly on the front of the car, which doesn't clear the road by more than 3-4 inches. My wife accidentally broke the plastic grille when we turned off a main highway onto a service road with a small dip. I believe that the position of this assembly could be a safety concern. Despite these issues, I'm hopeful that I can work with the dealership to find a solution.

Hi there! I wanted to share some feedback on the Cadillac CTS. I noticed that some small conveniences, like rain-sensing wipers, are no longer available this year. I even asked the dealer about it, but they didn't seem to know either. Another thing I noticed is that the 'easy-out' feature rolls the seat back when the engine is stopped, but it doesn't return to the driving position when the door is opened. It seems like the programming could use some improvement. Maybe they should call it 'easy-out' but also add an 'easy-in' feature. Just my two cents!
