For 2018, Buick introduced the second-generation Opel Insignia, sourcing all production from Germany; alongside a first-ever liftback sedan, the Regal TourX was the first Buick station wagon in 22 years.
After 2020, as the division shifted away from car model lines, Buick ended sales of the Regal in North America.

Buick ran extensive diagnostics on the car and denies there is a defect. Police came to the scene and advised that given the 2 other incidents that I have experienced, the car is unsafe to drive given potential damage to others. A police report was filed.

- Summary: The two systems that failed are the airbag release on the front passenger side and the stabilitrak system. Both systems show error lights on the dash. The front seat passenger does not have airbag protection. The stabilitrak system error light appears intermittently and when the traction system goes off the car brakes almost stop the car while driving. We go to Royal Buick in Tucson, Arizona. We worked with Germaine Kendrick. I've attached the dealer service invoice dated April 14, 2023. The invoice summarized the problem and stated that 1) a new seatbelt assesmbly is needed and 2) the service technician states that they can not replicate or repair the traction problems. Today is June 11, 2023. We are still waiting for the seatbelt assembly to "arrive". There is no solution for the traction system. We have phoned and texted 4 times. The most recent conversation on June 5th with "Chris" was interesting; Chris stated that the seatbelt part was NEVER ORDERED and furthermore, is not needed to repair the airbag warning light problem.

- Summary: Moisture has been collecting in both headlight assemblies for the past 3 years, whenever the car is outside or driven in the rain. Recently, this caused both high/low beam headlights to burn out. Replacing the bulbs is not enough, as the bulbs immediately burn out/smoke and blow out because of the water accumulation. On the driver side headlight, there was actually standing water in the headlight assembly that came pouring out when the cover was removed to replace the bulb. Dealership says both headlight assemblies must be replaced entirely to resolve the issue, due to corrosion. The vehicle has never been in an accident (there are NO cracks from collision, etc.). This appears to be a manufacturing defect or an issue with seal. This is a crazy expensive repair, to have to have the entire headlights replaced on the vehicle, on both sides, because they are not properly sealed/allow condensation and accumulation of water to take place. Can GM please cover the cost of this? Otherwise, this might be the last GM car I ever buy... This is also a major safety issue, as one must have working headlamps. Without an entirely new headlight assembly on each side, the lightbulbs, when replaced, burn out unexpectedly almost immediately, within weeks of replacement.

The dashboard will usually display a warning or pop up symbol that something is not working, but I had no warning and got pulled over driving at dusk with no headlights. There has been been other issues with this vehicle too! The other issues include: Bluetooth connection not working at all, the transmission has “jerking” issues while changing gears and the engine revving too high while only going 30mph while driving in suburban Massachusetts. The car has less than 70k miles, these issues should not be happening. The main issue is the headlights, considering they cost around $200/ea and just stopped working with no notice.

There is also a "Reduced Engine Power" message on the dashboard. Available for inspection upon request. My safety was put at risk before the vehicle was serviced because the car shut down in the middle of the street with cars behind me. I called a certified mechanic to successfully service the vehicle and he cleared the code. My safety was put at risk again after the car was serviced because the code came back on as I was driving on the highway. Car lost power and speed and as I tried to get the car pulled over with emergency lights on, I was almost hit from behind by 2 other drivers. Problem can be reproduced within 10 minutes. Per the mechanic's request, I am taking my car to a Buick Century GMC dealership on 7/16 @ 12 PM to be serviced. Warning symptoms before code came on happened especially during times of rainfall. Car hesitated to pick up speed. Overconsumption of gas resulting in decreased mileage.

There are many postings on the internet about this problem. It is a safety defect because it involves the vehicle's brakes and the car is not driveable when the pedal sticks.

- Consequence: If the key is removed without the transmission in PARK, the vehicle may rollaway as occupants are exiting, increasing the risk of injury.

- Summary: General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2011-2012 Buick LaCrosse, Regal and Chevrolet Camaro, as well as certain 2010-2012 Cadillac SRX, Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain vehicles, equipped with power height adjustable driver and passenger seats. In the affected vehicles, the bolt that secures the driver's and passenger's power front seat height adjuster may fall out causing the seat to drop suddenly to the lowest vertical position.

These vehicles are equipped with two turn signal bulbs in each front turn signal. If one of the two front turn signal bulbs burn out in either front turn signal lamp, there is no indication to the driver. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
- Consequence: If the driver is not aware that a turn signal is not functioning properly, the driver may continue to drive the vehicle. If half of a front turn signal is not illuminating, other driver's may not be aware that the affected vehicle is turning, thereby increasing the risk of a crash.

Hello! I'm happy to share my experience with you. After driving my car for nearly 6 months and 5k miles, I can say that I haven't had any major issues. The only thing that bothers me is that the horn doesn't sound when the doors are locked, even though I have that setting selected in the DIC. I haven't had a chance to go back to the dealer yet, but I'm sure they'll be able to help me out. I absolutely love the ride and handling of this car, and the build quality is excellent. The H/K stereo is fantastic, and the MP3 integration is seamless. Even though I thought I would miss having a CD changer, there are so many other options that it's not a big deal. The backseat is a bit tight for adults, but it's perfect for kids. I get a lot of compliments on the styling of the car, even from strangers in traffic. Thanks for listening!

I never thought it would be possible, but I just leased a CXL after turning in my 02 325i, and I am really impressed with what you get for the money. It reminds me a lot of my BMW, but it is cheaper and much better equipped, even for the base model. I'm surprised I hadn't heard more about this car. Make sure your dealer throws in the cap reduction cash for owners of different makes. I will check in with a later review when it has more miles, but it's clear that Buick is not your father's Buick anymore.

Our chocolate brown Regal is not what most people would expect from a Buick, but it definitely turns heads! Even my daughter's co-workers asked if she had found a sugar daddy when she borrowed it. My granddaughter's friends also commented on how good it looked. However, the Regal is more than just a pretty face. The seats are incredibly comfortable for long distances, and the passenger seat even has lumbar support, which is something that many pricier cars lack. The interior is tastefully elegant, and the fit and finish are excellent. The ride is firm but comfortable, keeping the driver alert, and the car handles nicely. The engine is adequate for my needs, and the brakes are good. The car is also easy on tires and has reasonable gas mileage if driven conservatively. While I cannot comment on the technology features, as I do not use them, I can say that the entertainment system is great, and I hardly ever turn off the radio. The only complaints I have are that the visibility could be better, the headrests are too big, and the exterior mirrors are too small. Additionally, the back seat is a bit cramped for anyone over 5'10

I recently traded in my 2008 Pontiac G8 GT (Lease) for a 2011 Buick Regal (2 weeks ago). Although it's a big change in power (from 8 cylinders to 4 cylinders), I realized that I didn't really use all that power very often. The best part about this car is its quiet interior, great sound system, and abundance of gadgets such as Navigation, voice recognition, On Star, Hard Drive (which is amazing because you can record only the songs you like), and Bluetooth. Every day, I discover a new toy to play with and I'm looking forward to enjoying this car for the next 24 months. Plus, with gas prices at $3 (plus), I'm excited about the mileage and cash savings that come with it.

Before you buy this car, please keep in mind that Buick did not manufacture this vehicle. Personally, I have had to spend a lot of money on repairs for this car. I had assumed that since it had a Buick emblem on it, it would be a reliable vehicle. Unfortunately, I was mistaken and this car has proven to be quite expensive to fix. I would not recommend taking it on long trips.

Although my Regal is a German-made car, I am not a troll, competitor, or foreigner. I actually drive this 2011 Buick Regal Turbo in Denver. We paid $28K for it in July 2011, which was a great deal considering the sticker price was $33K. Unfortunately, the dealership we purchased it from, GO Buick Park Meadows, has refused to repair it. Even after GM sent a third-party specialist to verify the problem last month, we have yet to hear back from Buick. I always put my right foot on the brake when starting the car, but it randomly self-accelerates when in park, reverse, or drive. This dangerous acceleration problem persists, and my family just can't continue driving this car. Hello! I have a beautiful white t07 regal turbo that handles amazingly and drives great. Unfortunately, my car has a front suspension rattle in the right front. I've taken it to the dealer twice and even opened a case with GM, but to no avail. It's been frustrating, but I'm still hopeful that we can find a solution. The transmission has caused us some trouble while merging into traffic and has also stopped working, requiring On Star to reset the computer. Although the dealer has not been able to find anything wrong, they have offered several explanations. During our test drive, we experienced a similar issue with one of the Regals, which we initially thought was our fault, but it turned out to be a problem with the car. Additionally, the car has a delay when accelerating due to not downshifting while slowing down. Unfortunately, this delay can occur at any time, which can be misleading. Lastly, the rear taillights appear to have been assembled for two different cars, and the paint is chipping excessively. Despite these issues, we appreciate the opportunity to provide feedback on our experience with the Regal.

I purchased my 2011 Buick Regal at Bergstrom in Oshkosh, WI on August 16th, 2014. It was my first car and I fell in love with it. Unfortunately, I started experiencing some issues with it not long after. There were a lot of recalls and my AC was broken, but it was fixed. However, I've been having some trouble with a terrible smell coming from the AC and a loud noise from the engine when I turn on the heat or AC while parked or stopped. Additionally, my trunk broke less than a year after I got the car, and my key ignition is also broken. Despite these issues, I still love my car. I've had to have it towed a few times due to computer shutdowns and water in the fuel tank, but I'm grateful for the warranty that covered some of these repairs. Unfortunately, I've experienced a few scary moments when my car lost power and shut off while driving, including one time when I was driving 65 mph in the middle of the night. I reported this to GM, and they said they fixed the problem while it was still under warranty. However, a few months later, the same issue occurred, and I was told that I needed to replace the pistons and head gaskets, which would cost me a few thousand dollars. Despite these challenges, I'm still grateful for the time I've had with my car and the memories we've made together.They informed me that my car is consuming an excessive amount of oil, much more than it should. I had to document this issue so that it could be sent to GM, as my warranty had just expired. Despite the documentation, they informed me that the oil consumption is still within GM standards, which was disappointing. I have had several other issues with this car, and it is costing me a lot of money. Unfortunately, they have not been able to address these issues, and I am concerned for my safety while driving it. However, I still have four years left to pay it off, and I cannot afford to trade it in. I hope that GM will take responsibility for their mistakes. I have decided that I will not purchase another GM vehicle in the future.
