North American production ended with the third generation, with model year 2019; however, it continued to be offered in China, with a 2019 facelift.
The fourth-generation LaCrosse, launched in 2023, is currently manufactured and marketed solely in China. It is powered by a turbocharged 1.5-liter or 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine.

- Summary: General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix, 2006-2009 Buick LaCrosse, 2006-2007 Buick Rainier, Chevrolet Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT, GMC Envoy XL, 2006-2008 Isuzu Ascender, and Saab 9-7x vehicles. In the affected vehicles, the headlamp driver module (HDM) may overheat and fail, causing the headlamps and daytime running lights to not illuminate.
- Consequence: Headlamps that do not illuminate reduce the driver's ability to see the roadway and reduce the vehicle's visibility to oncoming vehicles, both of which increase the risk of a vehicle crash.
- Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the HDM, free of charge. The recall began on May 17, 2016. Owners may contact Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300 or Pontiac customer service at 1-800-762-2737. GM's number for this recall is 14291.

- Summary: This defect can affect the safe operation of the airbag system. Until this recall is performed, customers should remove all items from their key rings, leaving only the ignition key. The key fob (if applicable), should also be removed from the key ring. General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 2005-2009 Buick LaCrosse, 2006-2011 Buick Lucerne, 2000-2005 Cadillac DeVille, 2006-2011 Cadillac DTS, 2006-2014 Chevrolet Impala, and 2006-2007 Chevrolet Monte Carlo vehicles. In the affected vehicles, the weight on the key ring and road conditions or some other jarring event may cause the ignition switch to move out of the run position, turning off the engine.
- Consequence: If the key is not in the run position, the air bags may not deploy if the vehicle is involved in a crash, increasing the risk of injury. Additionally, a key knocked out of the run position will cause loss of engine power, power steering, and power braking, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.
- Remedy: GM will notify owners, and dealers will install two key rings and an insert in the key slot or a cover over the key head on all ignition keys, free of charge. The recall began on September 23, 2014. Owners may contact General Motors customer service at 1-800-521-7300 (Buick), 1-800-458-8006 (Cadillac), and 1-800-222-1020 (Chevrolet). GM's number for this recall is 14299.

- Summary: DORMAN IS RECALLING 979 STEERING KNUCKLES, DORMAN P/NOS. 697-902 AND 697-903, SOLD UNDER DORMAN'S "OE SOLUTIONSTM" BRAND NAME, AND NAPA P/NOS. 7-8502 AND 7-8503 WHICH WERE SOLD FOR REPLACEMENT USE ON THE VARIOUS VEHICLES LISTED ABOVE. A POTENTIAL MATERIAL OR DESIGN DEFECT COULD RESULT IN THE STEERING KNUCKLE BREAKING IN THE HUB AREA.
- Consequence: A BROKEN STEERING KNUCKLE COULD RESULT IN LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL AND A POSSIBLE CRASH WITHOUT WARNING.
- Remedy: DORMAN WILL NOTIFY OWNERS AND REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE STEERING KNUCKLES FREE OF CHARGE AND REIMBURSE THE REPAIR FACILITY OR OWNER FOR LABOR. THE RECALL BEGAN ON FEBRUARY 23, 2009. OWNERS MAY CONTACT DORMAN'S TOLL-FREE HOTLINE AT 1-800-523-2492 AND PRESS 5.

- Consequence: WITH THIS CONDITION, FUEL AND/OR FUEL VAPORS COULD SEEP OUT BETWEEN THE LAYERS, INCREASING THE RISK OF A FIRE.
- Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE SERIAL NUMBER ON THE FUEL TANK AND REPLACE THE FUEL TANK IF NECESSARY. THE RECALL BEGAN ON NOVEMBER 13, 2006. OWNERS MAY CONTACT BUICK AT 1-866-608-8080, CHEVROLET AT 1-800-630-2438, OR PONTIAC AT 1-800-620-7668.

My intentions were to purchase a Honda Accord for its gas mileage and resale value. When I first looked at the Lacrosse in May without the Chrome Package, it looked plain to me. However, after driving the car 1500 miles on vacation last week, I was pleasantly surprised by the ride, performance, and most of all, the gas mileage for a new car. I want to commend Buick for creating such a great car. It achieved an impressive 30MPG. I have never been so pleased with a car before.

We bought an '07 with little over 4,000 miles and were impressed with the extras, including remote start and dual climate control, among many others. We receive tons of compliments on this car. Our only suggestion would be to add air vents in the back for back seat riders. Overall, this is the best car we have owned by far. The ride is very smooth and the power is awesome.

The driving compartment may feel a bit cramped, and parking may require a bit more effort on the steering wheel. Additionally, closing the trunk lid can be a bit tricky as it requires you to put your hands on the trunk to close it. It would be great if there was a handle to make it easier.

I have owned several GM cars, including Buicks, but my LaCrosse is by far the best. I love everything about it, from the heated seats to the satellite radio. Although I don't have remote start, I still enjoy all the features it has to offer. I must say, however, that I am particularly impressed with GM's OnStar feature. It provides me with hands-free phone capabilities, emergency help, door unlock service, and monthly emails about my car's performance. OnStar makes me feel much safer when I'm driving alone. Thank you, GM, for providing me with such a great ride and driving experience!

This car has many nice features, but I am disappointed that it doesn't have memory seats, rain-sensing wipers, heat/AC temperature control on the steering wheel, and rear seat heat/AC ducts on a $33,000 vehicle. I also miss the heads-up display on my previous Buick. However, I appreciate the car's other qualities and will enjoy it for the time being.

I really like the extra passing power this engine has. Even with 179k miles, it still handles well. Regular tune-ups and oil changes help keep it healthy. The only major issue I've had is with the rack and pinion steering, which can be quite costly to repair or replace.

Overall, I am very satisfied with the car. However, there are a few warnings that I would like to mention. The MPG is significantly lower than what the EPA sticker claims, with only 20mpg in the city. Additionally, while the trunk is spacious, the opening is smaller than the Century, making it difficult to fit larger objects inside. Finally, the piece of chrome across the middle of the dash is poorly placed, causing sunlight to shine directly in the driver's eyes during the hours of 10am to 2pm. These issues should be addressed to improve the overall experience of the car.

The 2007 LaCrosse is not a good fit for me. The interior feels cramped and the materials used are not of the highest quality, resulting in constant rattling. The chrome and fake wood accents reflect sunlight and streetlights poorly, and also contribute to the rattling. Despite taking it to the dealer, the rattling could not be resolved. Additionally, the windshield leaks air and produces a whistle at 60 mph. The gas mileage is also disappointing, as it falls short of the 10 mpg improvement I experienced with my previous car, the 2001 Century, even after 150,000 plus miles. The trunk is spacious, but the opening is small and difficult to shut. The ride is rough and there is a lot of road noise. Overall, I do not recommend this car.
