2022 Buick Encore problems
The Buick Encore is a subcompact crossover SUV built by General Motors from 2012 to 2022. It is subcompact crossover SUV marketed by Buick and its fourth SUV overall after the Rendezvous, Rainier, and Enclave.
The "Encore" designation was previously used by American Motors Corporation (AMC) for the subcompact two and four-door hatchback variants of the U.S.-built front-wheel drive Renault Alliance from 1984 to 1987.
First generation (2013)
The first-generation Encore is a restyled first-generation Chevrolet Trax, and shares the same styling with the European Opel/Vauxhall Mokka. It debuted at the 2012 North American International Auto Show in Detroit on January 10, 2012, and went on sale at the end of 2012. The North American Encore is assembled at the GM Korea plant in Bupyeong, South Korea alongside the Trax. The Chinese market Encore is assembled in Shandong.
The 2013, 2014 and 2015 Encore in the U.S. was offered in Base, Convenience, Leather, and Premium level models with the A14NET 1.4-liter inline-four multi-port fuel injected (MFI) VVT turbo gasoline engine rated at 128 hp (95 kW; 130 PS) @ 4900 rpm coupled to a 6-speed automatic transmission. It was available in front-wheel drive (FWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) versions.
For 2016, a new Sport Touring second tier model was added which included an 18-inch alloy wheels with midnight silver finish, rear spoiler, body-color door handles, remote start, fog lights, and a new more powerful B14XFT Ecotec inline four-cylinder direct fuel injection VVT engine rated at 153 hp (114 kW; 155 PS) @ 5600 rpm in Encore marketing materials. However, Opel in Europe rates the engine for the Mokka at 150 hp (112 kW; 152 PS) @ 4900–6000 rpm.
The Ecotec direct-injection engine package includes Stop/Start technology to improve fuel economy and was made available as an option on all but the base model for 2017 and 2018. In 2017, the model levels became Base, Preferred, Sport Touring, Preferred II, Essence, and Premium.

- Summary: While driving on interstate highway, CEL illuminated. When able to stop and check, DTC codes P1467 & P146b where detected. These codes deal with the Evap Purge system. The pump was recalled in model year 2021 for the make, model and engine in this vehicle. Failure to fix this issue results in increased fuel vapor escaping to the atmosphere as well as potential system damage. Since the same part was faulty in the previous model year, it seems GM did not correct the issue. A recall should be issued or an extended warranty with reimbursement in the 2022 model year also. The dealer ordered the part. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 30,474.

I leased two 2020 Encore Preferred models—one for me, the other for my college-aged daughter. Sadly, she crashed hers within two years, rendering it a total loss. The accident was severe; she escaped with a fractured nose from the airbag deployment. That car has 21K miles and was flawless and never in the shop. I'm still driving mine, although the lease is almost up; I have 43K miles and an excellent vehicle with no issues. I absolutely love the spunky engine; the mpg is in the high 30s and gives a surprisingly smooth ride. I have ZERO complaints about this car and would buy another one, except I'm now in the market for a pickup. These are genuinely great cars, and I highly recommend them.

I had trouble fitting both a suitcase and a small cooler in the trunk. I was also disappointed with the AM/FM antenna as it was unable to find many radio stations on the routes I usually drive. It took me a couple of days to locate the trip odometer and another half an hour to figure out how to operate it. The radio was my biggest complaint, especially when driving down I-40 between Needles and Barstow, which can be quite monotonous without good radio reception.

This is my 3rd Buick Encore. It has a few new features, but but basically the same as the first one. The interior isn't as nice--I wanted leather, but that is now too expensive. The seat warmers have to be installed on the car, which I don't like. One could find an Encore with seat warmers, but the wait, price, and availability might be problematic.

My vehicle has unfortunately had several issues, including problems with the brakes, a purge pump issue, a transmission chip/solenoid, and a shifter issue. It has been in the shop for 70 days and counting this time. However, I do appreciate the vehicle's easy maneuverability, spacious boot, and attractive appearance when it is not experiencing any issues. As a confident car owner, I believe that the root of these issues lies in the quality of the parts used by the manufacturer. I hope that the company will invest more in the quality of their parts to ensure that their vehicles are more reliable. Despite the unexpected stress and financial burden of rental fees, I remain confident that the company will take responsibility for their product and make things right. As a consumer, I expect a new car to be reliable and free of issues, and I believe that my experience with this vehicle warrants a Lemon title.

I have experienced multiple issues with this car since purchasing it 2 years ago. Unfortunately, it has been in the shop 5 times due to various problems such as the transmission module, starter module, and overheating. Despite these challenges, I have taken a proactive approach to address each issue as it arises. Recently, I was informed that there may be a potential issue with the heater this winter, which is no longer under warranty and will require an estimated cost of $1500. However, I have already taken steps to address this concern. Last night, the engine light came on again, but I am confident in my decision to purchase a new car and will not let this setback discourage me. I have learned a valuable lesson from this experience and will be more selective in my future car purchases.

The Ford Super Duty 6.0 was not great, but unfortunately, this vehicle is even worse. It's been difficult to find a kayak rack to take a trip to the river for a day of fun, and we've had trouble getting a trailer hitch to pull a trailer for the kayaks. Additionally, we've had trouble finding off-road/snow tires to get up the driveway in the winter. This has resulted in us having to walk two miles in deep snow every week all winter carrying 50-pound feed bags up a steep hill, as the SUV gets parked at the street and we have to walk home. We were disappointed to find out that we can't get a remote start, even though it's an available option. The dealer informed us that it can't be added later. This vehicle may be suitable for a short commute in Texas, but it's not useful for anything else, especially when compared to the RAV4 we traded in. The RAV4 could carry everything we needed anywhere, and with AT2 tires, it could bust through 4 ft deep snow drifts without hesitation. Although the computer has glitches, the heater, radio, cruise, and wipers work well. Unfortunately, we are stuck with this vehicle for the next 18 years. We are extremely disappointed and will not be purchasing a Buick again.
