This SUV is superb! The acceleration and handling are great. I've driven about 6000 miles in 4 months and I love every mile. We get 26+ miles per tank, every tank. On pure highway driving, we get 29 miles per tank. This car is comfortable, reliable, economical, fast, and very useful in everyday life. It's also VERY easy to get in and out of. The seats are supportive and comfortable, and the cargo area is great with easy access. There's also good hidden storage. I love this

The BMW X3 is a great car to drive, with excellent acceleration and braking. It's important to keep in mind that performance vehicles like this one tend to depreciate in value by $6k or more per year for the first 6 years. If you experience any issues, such as needing a turbo rebuild, BMW may be able to assist with repair costs. Although my experience with the car was not ideal, I decided to trade it in for a new Cadillac SRX after only 9 months of ownership due to its low reliability. Despite the X3 having a superior quality of ride, especially in winter, it was not worth the inconvenience and time spent at the dealership. The dealer attempted to blame me for the issues, but after measuring the battery parameters, it was clear that this was not the case. I am now very satisfied with my Cadillac and have not experienced any issues with it, even with my 'poor driver profile'.

I had a really bad experience with my 2013 BMW. After only 50,000 miles, I was told to purchase an extended warranty for over $3000 to cover up to 70,000 miles. Unfortunately, my engine's timing broke at 74,000 miles, just 5 days after my warranty expired. When I asked for help, they told me to take it to a BMW dealership for diagnosis before they could assist me. After doing so, I was told it would cost $6000 to fix it. I was only offered $1000 in assistance, which was disappointing. It's funny because I was actually considering going to another car dealer to buy a car, but my son, who has purchased 5 cars from BMW, told me to go to them because they would take care of me. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Their customer service is the worst I have ever experienced. I have to park my car at home and find other ways to get to work. When I asked to speak to a representative to see if they could help me, I was told that they don't talk to customers. It's really unprofessional and they need to treat people better. I won't stop until someone from the North American headquarters reaches out to me. BMW needs to consider their customers as family, because when you purchase a car, you're investing a lot of money and trust in them.

We've had some issues with the tires, unfortunately having to replace them at least once a year. While BMW doesn't manufacture the tires themselves, we were hoping for a more reliable tire company to be used. We've also had some minor issues with the battery due to infrequent driving, as well as some engine and bearing problems. However, the car drives well and is enjoyable to ride in. Overall, the maintenance can be a bit overwhelming, but we appreciate the driving experience. We may consider other options besides BMW for our next car purchase.

Despite my efforts, the 'drivetrain malfunction' light continues to come on after repairs, which has been frustrating. However, I am confident in my decision to replace the timing chain, which was a costly but necessary repair. While I have had some challenges with this vehicle, I remain committed to ensuring its reliability and safety. At 83,338 miles, a new turbocharger was installed. At 99,533 miles, the rear differential was replaced. At 99,729 miles, a new transmission was installed (after discovering it wasn't the differential). Unfortunately, at 118,770 miles, the oil pump failed and a new engine was required. Although the dealer and BMW split the cost, I still had to pay $6300 out of pocket.
