2015 Audi S5 problems

The Audi S5 is one of two high-performance variants of Audi's A5. It is also the coupé, cabriolet, and five-door fastback sedan versions of the fourth-generation (B8) Audi S4 saloon and estate models.
Like all Audi "S" cars, they are only available with Audi's quattro four-wheel drive (4WD) system, here in S5 using a Torsen-based centre diff system.
Most versions of the S5 are manufactured at Audi's plant in Ingolstadt, Germany; they are available as a coupé, cabriolet, and five-door sportback, which was previously not available in North America until the 2018 model year, which was released in the United States in mid 2017. The cabriolets are built at Audi's factory in Neckarsulm, Germany.

- Summary: I own an Audi 2015 S5 Cabriolet. I bought this new from Strong Audi in Salt Lake City. On September 2, 2022, I was driving it on I 15 south of Provo UT. I was in the middle of 5 lanes of traffic all driving approximately 80/miles per hour. Suddenly, the engine shut down. Thank God the drivers around me were able to avoid me as I had to coast to the right lane at very slow speed. As explained by the service representative at Strong Audi my vehicle has a tendency to vapor-lock in high temperatures resulting in the engine shutting down! He further explained that parts were available for $ 2,200 to correct the situation, but since my vehicle was out of warranty this would be my responsibility. I am of course having the work done.

This is a luxury sports car, not a car for running errands. As someone who has owned 5 previous Corvettes dating back to the fifties, as well as high-performance passenger cars, I must say that this car is perfection. The supercharged engine and 7-speed multi-clutch transmission are the finest ever and perform their job quietly and perfectly. While it may ride a little rough on the terrible Michigan roads, in Florida or California, where I have driven it, you can just lean back and enjoy.

I own a 2012 S5 after testing the 2.0 A5 in pretty much every configuration available at the dealership. In my experience, the steering is extremely tactile and responsive, and I'm not sure why Edmunds thinks it's 'contrived' or 'artificial'. I'm happy to report that my gas mileage is actually improving as I learn how to properly drive the car. With 1000 miles under my belt, I'm now getting closer to 26-28 hwy and 15-19 city mpg thanks to my judicious use of the responsive cruise control and active mileage monitoring system. The car is well-mannered in traffic when it needs to be, but becomes an elegant beast when pushed with very little effort.

I recently traded my 08 BMW M3 sedan for a 2011 S5 and I couldn't be happier! While the M3 is an amazing car, it's not the most practical for everyday use. I decided to switch to the S5 because of its stunning good looks, powerful V8 engine, and excellent 4-wheel grip. The interior of the S5 is visually stunning and very user-friendly (unlike BMW's iDrive, which can be a bit of a mess!). The seats are extremely comfortable and infinitely adjustable, and the B&O sound system is fantastic - I'd say it's on par with the best from BMW. Behind the wheel, the steering feel is great and the engine power is substantial but not overwhelming. The overall build quality and materials are excellent. My only minor complaints are that the panoramic roof only vents and the overhead sunglass compartment is a bit small!

I'm so glad to hear that you love the all wheel drive!

Beautiful car inside and out and what a joy to drive. Handles so confidently and smoothly. I also looked at BMW 335iX coupe (no camera and too harsh style), Mercedes E coupe (no 4-wheel option). The extra power over the A5 changes the car considerably. You can't go wrong if you pick this car.

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share my experience with purchasing a CPO AUDI. While the car itself is great, I did run into a bit of trouble with the dealer. I was told that the car had not been in an accident and that the car-fax was clean, but when I got home, I noticed that the front end was misaligned. After running an auto check, I found out that the car had indeed been in an accident. The dealer did take the car back, but now they are reselling it as CPO and acting like it's perfect. I understand that CPO cars can be certified even if they have been in an accident, but I do believe that this information should be disclosed to the consumer. Thank you for listening to my experience!
