The Audi S5 is one of two high-performance variants of Audi's A5. It is also the coupé, cabriolet, and five-door fastback sedan versions of the fourth-generation (B8) Audi S4 saloon and estate models.
Like all Audi "S" cars, they are only available with Audi's quattro four-wheel drive (4WD) system, here in S5 using a Torsen-based centre diff system.
Most versions of the S5 are manufactured at Audi's plant in Ingolstadt, Germany; they are available as a coupé, cabriolet, and five-door sportback, which was previously not available in North America until the 2018 model year, which was released in the United States in mid 2017. The cabriolets are built at Audi's factory in Neckarsulm, Germany.

ONE MECHANIC THERE SAID THAT THIS TYPE OF FUEL PUMP IN THIS CAR WAS KNOWN TO FAIL IN THE AMERICAN SOUTHWEST DUE TO REGIONAL HIGH TEMPERATURES; I HAVE NO WAY TO VERIFY THAT. I've driven an A4 and a BMW 3 series before, but the new S4 is only marginally faster on the track. However, the S5 is the perfect coupe for affluent consumers who desire a flashy daily driver. It boasts elegance, beauty, performance, solid build quality, and a refined, ergonomic interior that matches or even exceeds its competitors. In fact, short of the R8, this is the best overall handling production Audi. Its 0-60 times are as follows: 4.9 seconds from standstill, 4.7 seconds with S-mode, and 4.5 seconds with a 1-foot roll-out in S-mode. Additionally, it gets an impressive 24-26 mpg on the highway.

I absolutely love my S5! It caught my eye at the airport and I knew I had to have it. Everywhere I go, people turn their heads to admire it. I live in the Dallas area and have only seen a few others on the road since I purchased it 8 months ago. The dealership added Stasis, which I wouldn't have chosen myself, but my husband loves it and it really adds to the experience. The engine roar is unbelievable and, coming from a quiet Lexus, it took some getting used to, but now I can't imagine driving anything else. As a fairly aggressive driver, I really appreciate the handling and maneuverability of this car.

I recently purchased this car and I absolutely love it. Everything about it is what you would expect and more from a premium performance coupe. One of the major factors that led me to choose this car was the sound of the engine starting; I knew at that moment that I had to have it. It is understated yet over-performing, and people can't help but admire it. Another great feature is that you don't see many of them on the road, with only 3600 sold in the entire country last year. I recently traded my 08 S4 for this amazing S5. While I was originally shopping for a 911 or M3, I found that the S5 is the perfect combination of luxury and sport. It's a beautiful car that always gets compliments, and I love that it has a dual personality. While the M3 may be faster, it looks like every other 2-door BMW on the road, and the 911 just didn't feel right for me. I truly believe that I've found my perfect car, and I highly recommend getting one before they switch to a V6 engine. This is the last V8 model, unless you want to pay a 25k premium for the RS4. They're going to be hard to come by, so act fast if you want to own one of these amazing cars that will hold their value for years to come!
