2017 Acura Nsx problems
The Honda NSX, marketed in North America as the Acura NSX, is a two-seater, rear mid-engined, rear-wheel drive sports car manufactured by Honda.
The origins of the NSX trace back to 1984, with the HP-X (Honda Pininfarina eXperimental) concept, for a 3.0 L (180 cu in) V6 rear mid-engine, rear-wheel drive sports car. Honda, with the intention of meeting or exceeding the performance of the then V8 engine Ferrari range, committed to the project, aiming at both reliability and a lower price. The concept evolved and had its name changed to NS-X, which stood for "New", "Sportscar" "eXperimental", although the production model was launched as the NSX.
Gordon Murray, the designer of the McLaren F1 supercar, stated that he used the NSX as the inspiration after test driving many high-performance cars and finding that the NSX chassis performed the best. Murray found the design was "monumental" for sportscar design. He claimed the car could "easily" have handled more power and attempted to convince Honda to develop a more powerful engine, but Honda declined. This resulted in Murray developing his F1 with a BMW engine, but he was so fond of the NSX that he bought one for personal use - and drove it for 75,000 kilometres (47,000 mi). Murray said the NSX was "dear to his heart".

Common 2017 Acura Nsx problems
Based on the information from the sources provided, here are common problems with the 2017 Acura NSX as reported by owners:
- Brake Light Problem:
- Another issue affecting the 2017 Acura NSX is related to the brake lights. Specifically, the center brake light can short-circuit, leading to a blown fuse that disables all brake lights. This situation triggers a warning light on the dashboard and prevents the car from starting until the problem is rectified. Dealers are replacing the center brake light to resolve this issue.
- Mixed Reception:
- Apart from the technical problems, the 2017 Acura NSX has faced criticism and polarized opinions among car enthusiasts. One common point of contention is the pricing of the vehicle, which has been a subject of debate. Some individuals find the car overpriced, leading to concerns about its value proposition in the market.
These issues highlight the importance of addressing safety concerns promptly and ensuring that technical faults are rectified to maintain the performance and reliability of the Acura NSX.
Is the Acura NSX reliable?
The nature of the question, “Which NSX has the most miles,” makes it an ever-changing, and difficult-to-settle one. However, with two examples racing towards 500,000 miles (804,672 km), it's safe to say that the NSX is no exception to the legend of Honda reliability.
Why is Acura NSX not selling?
The Acura ILX has been discontinued because the company plans to focus on the Acura Integra for the sedan market in the United States. The Acura NSX, on the other hand, has been discontinued due to declining sales and the company's focus on electric vehicles.
Is the Honda NSX a good car?
The Honda NSX is a seriously fast sports car with a high-tech hybrid petrol-electric engine that means it can drive in silent electric power alone. It doesn't have the same badge kudos as the likes of an Audi R8 or a Porsche 911, but it more than makes up for that with its impressive turn of speed and space-age looks.
Why is the NSX so expensive?
Advanced Technology: The NSX is known for its cutting-edge technology and engineering. It features a hybrid powertrain with a combination of a V6 engine and electric motors, sophisticated handling systems, and high-performance materials. These technologies contribute to its price tag.

This is a fantastic car that combines the best qualities of Ferrari and Porsche in an affordable package. It can be used as a daily driver, but it may not be suitable for snowy or icy conditions unless equipped with proper tires and clearance. The car has low clearance and cannot be raised to clear snow. The electric assist provides instant acceleration, eliminating turbo lag, and the front electric motors' torque vectoring works seamlessly to help carve turns at any speed. So far, I have driven over 7,000 miles without any issues.

My wife and I absolutely adore the appearance of this stunning white NSX, complete with numerous carbon fiber highlights. It's also incredibly fast, as Meatloaf would say, 'like a bat out of hell'. My kids, who are in their 30s, often bring their friends along for a ride. While the electronics are good, I'm having a bit of trouble getting the 10 years of free map updates or the garage door opener to work. At first glance, the trunk may seem small, but it's actually quite wide and can hold plenty of soft luggage (such as duffel bags) for several days of travel. It's also incredibly easy to drive. Even my wife, who initially said she would never drive a supercar, drove it half of the way home from the dealer and said, 'It drives like a normal car'. Unless, of course, you put your right foot down. I particularly appreciate how quiet it is in sport mode. We both love the red-black interior, and the seats are incredibly comfortable. It certainly turns heads wherever we go. Overall, we couldn't be happier with this purchase.
