I love the interior of the 2021 XC90 T8 Plug-In and how it handles! The blonde leather seats are absolutely gorgeous, and it has just the right amount of room to carry passengers without feeling too big. When I remember to plug it in, it gets an impressive 44 mpg. Although I have had some issues with the service department not answering their phones and difficulty getting it in for service, I still think it's a great car. I have had some electrical issues in the past 18 months, but I know Volvo is working on software updates to fix these issues. Overall, it's a gorgeous car with a lot of power and great gas mileage. I just wish the service department would be more responsive and the software problems would be fixed soon.

Agile and nimble steering. The seats are extremely comfortable and have useful adjustability. The air conditioning system is superior. Additionally, it is competitively priced. However, I did notice that the highway road noise is more than I expected.

Unfortunately, we have experienced some issues with the car such as the radio not turning on when the car starts, the air suspension going down after exiting the car, and the screens going black frequently. Additionally, the key fob and app have lost connection multiple times, which has required us to reset it with both keys while being in the car. In our opinion, the car is quite small with limited storage space and only 2 cup holders in the front and 2 in the second row that are not even big enough for a McDonald's drink. Although it was marketed as a minimalist and easy car for older people, it has not been very user-friendly. We appreciate Volvo Financial's willingness to work with us on this matter.

Seats are a bit narrow, but overall the ride is decent. The engine could be smoother for a small turbo, but it still gets the job done. While the reliability may not be top-notch, the safety features are good. It's always a good idea to shop around and compare options.

Last week, we traded in our Audi Q5 for an XC90 Ultimate. After driving it for a little over a week and about 150 miles, I can share a few comments. Firstly, if you don't have 20/20 vision, you may find the key difficult to use. The controls on the FOB are too small to see, which can be frustrating. Additionally, I found it inconvenient that all the controls are on the screen, as it can be distracting to take your eyes off the road while driving. Thankfully, many of the controls can be verbally controlled by Google. Even the vibrating seat needs to be controlled from the screen and doesn't have a timer to turn it off. The car drives very loosely, like a boat, which is different from our BMW or Audi that have much better road feel. However, there are many positives to this car! The interior is stunning, and the seats are super comfortable. The Bowers & Wilkinson stereo may be the best I've ever heard. The $1800 air ride will take some getting used to, so I won't comment on it yet. There are a ton of amenities in the car, and the GPS is great. The ride on a straightaway is okay, and I guess on a long ride, it won't tire you out. I highly suggest involving some older individuals in the design and controls, as they will probably be 75% of the buyers at $78,000. I'll follow up at a later date once my mind can wrap around all the IT features. I miss my Audi! However, we do feel VERY safe driving this huge machine. Update after 6,000 miles: I'm starting to think that the lousy dealer prep may have been the reason I didn't love this beast. So much for the $1000 prep charge. After rotating and balancing the tires (which the dealer never did), the car drives much better. Electronics are still a pain, but I can deal with it. Would I ever buy another Volvo? No!
