Negative 2021 Volvo Xc60 car reviews

  1. Emmett Nikolaus 2025-06-21

The car is nice, but unfortunately, it only comes with one fully functioning remote key. The second key, which is a 'key tag', has no buttons on it, meaning you can't remotely lock/unlock, open the rear or activate the panic alarm. This can be inconvenient for those who are used to walking to their car with the key in their hand to activate the alarm if something is wrong as they approach. Additionally, the 'Care Key' looks just like a master key but is a different color and doesn't allow you to set a driver profile. This means that if your spouse is using the Care Key, they will have to make all their seat, mirror and convenience settings EVERY TIME they get into the car. While I understand that this is a business decision, I think Volvo could have done better. Most new cars come with two fully functioning remote keys, and it's disappointing that Volvo doesn't offer the same. I wrote several emails to Volvo USA expressing my concerns, but unfortunately, they were unable to help. Despite these issues, I've had the car for about a year and a half, and it rides fine. I've only needed to take it back for two issues, one of which is still unresolved, but it's an annoyance that I'll wait to get fixed again when it's time for service. However, I have come to the conclusion that the Sensus navigation/radio/voice command system could use some improvement.I understand your frustration with the Sensus system. It can be quite frustrating when it doesn't work properly. I'm glad to hear that you had a positive experience with the Google driven system in the 2022 loaner. Unfortunately, it's not possible to remove the Sensus system and replace it with the Google system. However, I hope that the software update has helped to improve the system's functionality. If you continue to experience issues, please don't hesitate to reach out to our service team for assistance. Thank you for your feedback and for choosing our car. We value your business and hope to continue providing you with a positive driving experience.

The ride is a bit rougher than my neighbor's Ford Mustang, which is surprising for a 'luxury' car. Additionally, the dashboard, screen, and other features can be difficult to use and a bit annoying. The build quality is average and nothing particularly special.

I purchased a brand new Volvo XC60 T6 Momentum in August 2021. Unfortunately, during a road trip with my wife, the car experienced some issues and eventually broke down. Thankfully, we were able to pull over safely and wait for a tow truck. Although it took a while for the tow truck to arrive, we were grateful for their assistance. The dealership took some time to diagnose the issue, but they eventually found a faulty fuel line that caused the car to shut down. The repair took longer than expected, but the dealership was able to fix the issue. However, a few weeks later, the car experienced another issue with the serpentine belt, which caused some damage to other components in the engine bay. The dealership was able to repair the car, but it took longer than expected. Although these issues were frustrating, the dealership was able to fix them and get the car back on the road. I appreciate their hard work and dedication to resolving the issues. Despite these challenges, I still enjoy driving my Volvo XC60 T6 Momentum and look forward to many more adventures with it.I have owned some very nice vehicles such as Porsche, Jaguar, and Land Rover. However, I am extremely disappointed with this car. Unfortunately, I have experienced a host of serious issues with this brand new car, including a lot of noises in the cabin due to fit issues. I expected better from Volvo and called the manager at the dealership to express my concerns. I explained that I felt the car fell under the Lemon Act and should be bought back by Volvo. I also expressed that neither my wife nor I felt any assurance that we would not be stranded again. Although my concerns were met with mild regard, I was told that the dealership would be more than happy to trade in the defunct XC60 for another one. I cannot in good conscience recommend this car to anyone, as I feel that we were not sold a product that met our expectations after paying 50K. At this price point, one should expect a vehicle with sound mechanics and decent fit and finish throughout, which this XC60 does not have. Unfortunately, we have not been treated well by our Volvo dealership or Volvo itself, and we have lost confidence in the actual vehicle. Regrettably, I do not believe that they stand by their product, and I can say resolutely that we will never purchase another Volvo. If it were possible to give my Volvo experience zero stars, I would have...

My XC60 T8 Inscription Hybrid is an excellent car, but unfortunately, the Bower & Wilkins stereo upgrade has a significant issue. Despite taking it into the Volvo dealership four times and demonstrating the problem, they have been unable to fix the vibration caused by mid-range bass coming from the speaker cover and door panel. This is particularly frustrating given that the $3,200 stereo upgrade was supposed to provide higher fidelity sound. Despite their claims that the issue is with my iPhone or the volume level, I have found that it occurs on two out of three songs at around 50-60% volume, with no adjustments to my iPhone or the stereo equalizer. While they have been unable to reproduce the issue using a low fidelity radio signal, I believe that there must be a solution to this problem. I would appreciate a resolution to this issue, as I believe that the stereo upgrade should provide a superior listening experience.

The best thing I can say about my XC60 is that I never got kidnapped by a serial killer during any of the times it left me stranded on the side of the highway.

Positive 2021 Volvo Xc60 car reviews

  1. Ervin Bailey 2025-06-26

I'm glad to hear that your car has met most of your expectations! It's great to know that you haven't had any service issues and that the MPG has been as rated. The power and handling are more than adequate for urban driving, and the exquisite seat comfort and interior finish give each drive a sense of occasion. Although the Sensus infotainment system may pose a certain learning curve, like any software interface (phones, tablets, etc.), it becomes second-nature with time and usage. The cargo capacity, though not best-in-class, has been wholly adequate for road trips, work gear and small furniture. It's unfortunate to hear that the ride quality has been a let-down, with minor road imperfections transmitting directly to the cabin and larger bumps feeling like an impact. I can imagine that the 20

I test drove all the vehicles in the same class size as the XC60 and I can confidently say that this is the best option available. It has the best features, best power in the base engine, best dealership experience, and is well known for being the safest car manufacturer. The fit and finish of every detail in the cabin is at the top of the segment. While Lexus may have slightly softer door panels and dashes, the Volvo wins overall with its wood trim and fit and finish. The cargo room is slightly smaller than some competitors, but it still offers great usable space. The features that come with the inscription model, along with some of the available packages, are an incredible value. Everything is super practical and easy to use. The safety technology is much better than Infiniti and Lexus. The only thing I would change is making the around view cameras the default when you put the car in reverse. Sometimes it can be cumbersome to switch from the back-up camera to the 360° view, which is the most convenient feature. Volvo also offers the best app experience for remote start, maintenance, vehicle location, and any other details you would want to know about your car. Plus, they include it free for four years. My friends and family are amazed at how far Volvo has come over the years. The XC60 is a true luxury standout.

I really adore this car. It's absolutely stunning and it transforms mundane errands into an enjoyable pastime.

  4. Vince Streich 2025-06-11

Researched all the competing SUVS in this class. Looking for upscale, comfortable and fun to drive. Also, all the safety and convenience features. I absolutely love the comfortable seats and the surprisingly smooth power of the T6. Luxury meets comfort meets practicality meets fun to drive in this car. And the sound system is amazing and such a nice plus. It's beautiful inside and out.

  5. Freddy Schuppe 2025-04-01

Hey there! I just wanted to say that your car is absolutely awesome! It looks great and I love the comfort and performance it provides. Keep up the good work!
