2017 Volvo S60 problems
The Volvo S60 is a compact executive car manufactured and marketed by Volvo since 2000.
The first generation (2000–2009) was launched in autumn of 2000 in order to replace the S70 and was based on the P2 platform. It had a similar designed estate version called Volvo V70 and a high performance engine and sports-oriented suspension version called S60 R. Styling cues were taken from the ECC concept car and the S80.
The second generation (2010–2018) was released in 2010 for the 2011 model year and has its own estate version, known as the Volvo V60.
The third generation joined the Volvo line-up in 2018 for the 2019 model year. It is built on a shortened version of the Scalable Product Architecture platform, in America's first Volvo factory in Ridgeville, South Carolina. The US became the sole global source of the S60 sedan after production in China was phased out in early 2019.

UNKNOWN OR OTHER PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2024-08-11
- VIN: LYV402TM6HB
- Components: UNKNOWN OR OTHER
- Summary: Yesterday I took my one year old granddaughter to North Carolina, which is an hour and a half drive away. We had breakfast with family members and I loaded her into the back seat. When I closed the door it looked as if the door closed, but as I began to drive, the door swung open. I attempted to close the door again, and the latch would not connect to the hook inside of the driver side rear door. I ended up needing to have my son sit in the back seat and hold the door closed the entire ride home (an hour and a half) to make sure that the door would not open again. I am currently driving my "new" car with a ratchet strap going from door to door to hold the door closed so that I can go to work. I found information stating that there was a recall on the Volvo S60 (2017) but when I enter my VIN nothing displays. I just bought the vehicle in February and the dealership is telling me that this will cost me $450 to repair on my MAX CARE warranty. Why? When the vehicle had a recall on it in 2020 that obviously was never addressed, prior to me purchasing it.

Fortunately, there were no injuries but had there been another vehicle at her side, this might have been a different story. The vehicle was towed back to the tire dealer to have the tire replaced. This is my first Volvo and I must say, it has exceeded my expectations. Unlike other luxury sedans, it doesn't require premium gasoline. The seats are incredibly comfortable, which is a huge plus for me as I have back problems and commute 50-60 miles a day. The cabin is quiet and even the T5 has great acceleration. Although the trunk space is adequate, a little more room in the back would be nice. The interior materials are of high quality and the car has no squeaks or rattles. I'm a big fan of the Volvo on call service and the app that controls it. The gas mileage is great and overall, it's a fantastic car. In terms of reliability, it's definitely better than my previous BMW and it's the most comfortable car I've owned.

That sounds very safe!

Interior and truck storage are barely adequate, but with a retrofit, you can mount Volvo's own roof rack. On the bright side, this car has great safety features and provides outstanding highway handling and comfort.
-
Hi there! I noticed that your first Volvo was a 1974, 142 and it was a blue dream car. That sounds amazing! I'm glad to hear that your new Volvo is even better. It's a shame they don't have the blue color though. Maybe they'll bring it back in the future!

The S60 Platinum Premier Inscription model is packed with safety, comfort, and performance features. I can't compare its performance and handling to other more expensive European cars because I've never owned one. However, as a regular driver, the car has served me very well. Besides scheduled maintenance, I haven't had any services in two and a half years. In fact, because of my experience, I plan on buying the car when it comes off its 36-month lease.

There are a few things that I don't particularly like about the car. Firstly, I can hear quite a bit of road noise, which can be a bit distracting. Additionally, the response time from a dead stop is slower than expected, even when using the S transmission. The heater controls are a bit unusual, and I've found that the windows tend to fog up unless the defrost is on. However, you can't use the defrost and the floor heat at the same time, which can be a bit inconvenient. The Bluetooth can also be a bit tricky to use, and I've found that if I'm listening to the radio, the phone rings but can't be used through the car unless I choose the phone. Furthermore, the car's GPS/map won't work unless it's connected to the internet, which can be a bit confusing while driving. Despite these minor issues, the car has a lot of great safety features, and the AWD is amazing in the snow. The car also handles very well. While it may not be the best car for drag racing, I still think it's a nice car overall. However, I personally prefer my Nissan Altima.

Hey there! I borrowed a car for the weekend and it drove really nicely. The inside was super roomy and the back seat had plenty of leg room. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the storage area. I'm not used to having to reach behind the instrument panel.
