- Summary: I returned after being away for a few weeks, in May 2021. The solar panel had been on the inner windshield of the car following installation a few months prior. I found the car's 12V battery was almost dead (about 4 Volts), and the solar panel's plastic frame was severely melted, causing it to deform and lift away from the glass solar panel. Photos uploaded below. From reading reviews on this product on the Harbor Freight website, I now see that this is a common problem. I don't know what the cause is. Could be that the cheap plastic is just not made to withstand summer heat (although I have 2 more of these in my other cars, with no problems), and that the severe deformation of the frame somehow shorted something electical inside the panel that caused the car's 12V battery to discharge, heating the glass panel and melting all the surrounding plastic. Or it could be that an electrical problem was the trigger, causing the battery to discharge, etc. Harbor Freight is so far making it extremely difficult to try to raise the problem with them. I think this could be a serious issue, perhaps leading to a car fire. And if it is indeed an electrical fault that triggers this, then it could happen when parked in a garage (no solar heating needed), possibly leading to worse.

- Summary: Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (Porsche) is recalling certain 2003-2020 Porsche Macan, Cayenne, Panamera, and Cayman S, 2001-2004 Boxster, Boxster S, 2004 Boxster 50 JAHRE SPYDER 550 vehicles. Please see the recall report for a complete list of all affected models and model years. The caps that cover the low-beam headlight horizontal adjustment screws are missing, which can allow the headlights to be improperly adjusted. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
- Consequence: Improperly adjusted headlights may not illuminate the road properly, or cause a glare to oncoming drivers, which can increase the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: Dealers will inspect the headlights for sealing caps and install missing caps as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed October 28, 2022. Owners may contact Porsche's customer service at 1-800-767-7243. Porsche's number for this recall is ANB4.

(Porsche) is recalling certain 2003-2006 Cayenne S, Cayenne Turbo, 2004-2010 Cayenne, 2006 Cayenne Turbo S, 2010-2016 Panamera S, Panamera 4 S, Panamera Turbo, 2011-2016 Panamera, Panamera 4, 2012-2013 Panamera Turbo S, 2013-2016 Panamera 4 GTS, 2014-2016 Panamera 4 S Executive, Panamera Turbo Executive, Panamera Turbo S G1 II, Panamera Turbo S Executive, 2013 Panamera 4 Platinum Edition, Panamera Platinum Edition, 2016 Panamera 4 Edition, Panamera Edition, Panamera Turbo S Executive Luxury Sports vehicles. The bushing that attaches the gear selector lever to the gearbox may degrade over time, causing the bushing to detach. This condition could allow the driver to move the shift lever to Park and remove the ignition key, while the transmission may not be in Park, with no warning message or audible chime.
- Consequence: If the vehicle is exited without the transmission being in Park and without the parking brake being applied, the vehicle may unexpectedly move, increasing the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: Porsche will notify owners, and dealers will replace the shifter cable bushing, free of charge. Owners are instructed to use the parking brake until their vehicle is repaired. The recall began August 9, 2019. Owners may contact Porsche customer service at 1-800-767-7243. Porsche's number for this recall is AKB1.

- Consequence: A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire.
- Remedy: Porsche will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel filter flanges with new filter flanges that have a protective film, free of charge. The recall began July 6, 2018. Owners may contact Porsche customer service at 1-800-767-7243. Porsche's number for this recall is AH10.

I absolutely adore this vehicle and its baby sister, the 2004 911, 996 cabriolet turbo. They both handle exceptionally well in any situation. The power of the Cayenne is remarkable and it is an absolute joy to drive at high speeds. However, I have noticed that the Cayenne Turbo tends to wear out its tires quite quickly, with all four lasting only about 6,000 miles. This seems to be a common issue with this model, regardless of whether it has winter or summer tires. I have tried Pirelli, Michelin, Continental, and all have the same wear problem. Additionally, getting the rear seats down can be a bit of a challenge. Despite these minor issues, the drive and handling of this SUV are far superior to any other I have ever experienced.

What a great car! It's super fast and has amazing performance. Although I wish I was back home in Europe to really push it to its limits instead of cruising at 60mph on Cali highways. Personally, I prefer the exterior design of this model over the newer ones (2012-2013). It looks so muscular! The interior also feels more spacious compared to the newer models. However, gas consumption might be a concern for some. As someone who doesn't commute and works 7 days a week, I don't get to drive it as much as I'd like, but when I do, it's always a joy. If you can afford it, I highly recommend getting a new one as the gas mileage is much better.

I came across a stunning 2004 Porsche on a lot and decided to take it for a spin. It turned out to be the real deal! A week later, I drove it home and it was an absolute pleasure to drive. Although I was initially worried about the mpg, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it gets 21 mpg on the highway at 65 mph. While there are some minor issues like the radio not always working, overall, I got a $70,000 car for well under 20 grand. One piece of friendly advice is to verify how the car was maintained and by whom.

I just got back from a fantastic 4th of July vacation driving off the roads near Black Rock Range in Northern Nevada. It was my first time off-roading, and the view from my beige leather interior perfectly complemented the dust and sunset outside. Driving on the playa at speeds of up to 80 mph was like being in a James Bond movie, and winding up or down the hills felt like being in a Harry Potter movie where the road appears just in front of you by inches. A couple of times, it seemed like we might get stuck in the mud, but with the 'long lock', the car just pulled itself off effortlessly. We also enjoyed driving on mini-playas whose surfaces were so smooth without a single crack.

This car is amazing! It has so much power and handles with precision, making it feel like a big race car. You really have to drive it to believe it. It even outperforms the BMW 4.8. Give it a try and see for yourself!

I purchased my car used with 45,000 miles, which was a good deal. However, after 3 years, everything started to go wrong at once and it was very expensive to fix. I spent over $10,000 in just 2 months. The passenger brake constantly malfunctions and the radio has had issues, which seems to be a common problem. If I had the chance to do it over, I would not choose this car. Although it looks good, it is not worth the high cost. For the same amount of money, I could have bought a brand new car. The headlights alone cost around $1,000 to replace and there is no spare tire. Additionally, the batteries are around $500. Overall, this car is very costly to maintain.

We just purchased the 04 Cayenne S with under 60k miles, got the extended warranty...after less than a month owning it the rear axle had to be replaced at a cost of $1400.00. 2 weeks later in the hot sun the check coolant light went on, car was in the shop for a week to replace the coolant tubes had to replaced with the aluminum tubes, a Porsche defect that they are currently avoiding, at a cost of $3200.00, exactly 1 week later while I was backing my car into the garage the steering wheel started doing what it wanted and the light came on MOVE STEERING WHEEL there was a loud noise click click click and the car died. Will not start, go into gear, NOTHING. Had to be towed back to the dealer.
