This is a known issue based on the responses I have received from the dealership and Porsche factory representatives on the model 911 Carerra and other Porsche models.

THE DEALER, THE AUTOGALLERY HAS ACKNOWLEDGED THE PROBLEM, ONE OF IT'S SALESMEN DEEMING IT SO MUCH GLARE AS TO BE "UNDRIVABLE". BEVERLY HILLS PORSCHE HAS VERIFIED THE PROBLEM AND TOLD ME OF NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS. A PERUSAL OF THE INTERNET REVEALS MANY OTHER OWNER COMPLAINTS. - Summary: Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (Porsche) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 Porsche 911, Boxster, and Cayman vehicles manufactured May 7, 2014, to September 23, 2014. The front hood upper lock components were not manufactured to specification and may fail to securely latch the vehicle's hood during operation.
- Consequence: A failure of the hood latching mechanism may cause the hood to suddenly open during vehicle operation and will severely impede the driver's ability to see out the front windshield, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash.
- Remedy: Porsche will notify owners, and dealers will replace the lock on the front hood, free of charge. The recall began December 12, 2014. Owners may contact Porsche customer service at 1-800-767-7243. Porsche's number for this recall is AE04.

I've been a proud owner of 911's for years. It has the highest resale value of any sports car and most cars in general, so you won't have to worry about any financial burden. The unique rear engine has been perfected over the years, making it an iconic and instantly recognizable car with its curvy and beautiful body. It's also very serviceable and doesn't require any more maintenance than a normal car. The performance is on point, with sports car handling and superb comfort, making it perfect for long road trips. It also has decent mileage and solid, vault-like quality. I especially love the all-wheel drive, which can even seat my kids in a pinch. The sound is incredible, and there's nothing I don't love about my 911. I highly recommend getting one, as you'll be hooked!

During my 15 months of ownership, I experienced a few issues such as my front seat coming unstitched twice, PCM being replaced twice, low oil light coming on, engine overheating, poor Bluetooth connectivity (only works with iPhone), and no heat. However, I was able to quickly resolve these issues with the help of the dealer. I ultimately decided to switch to the Boxster S, which is more fun to drive and has a quieter ride. Additionally, it is priced at 40K less than the previous car and has 50% more trunk space. If you're interested, there are great deals on Boxsters in Connecticut and New York.
