I'LL PUT THE CAR INTO PARK AND WATCH THE RPM MOVE TO 3500 AND STAY THERE UNTIL I TURN THE CAR OFF. ONCE I TURN THE CAR OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON THEN THE ISSUE STOPS. I HAVE OTHERS VERIFY THE ISSUE HAS HAPPENED WITH THEM OR THEY SAW THE ISSUE OCCUR (SO I'M NOT CRAZY). A MECHANIC AT FIRESTONE (WAS ABLE TO REPRODUCE THE ISSUE) AND HE THOUGHT THE ISSUE WAS RELATED TO THE TRANSMISSION. I love my van! It's so versatile and perfect for all my needs. Whether I'm going trout fishing, biking, or picking up a new appliance, it always gets the job done. Even when we're going out to dinner with the whole family, including two car seats and four adults, there's plenty of room for everyone. Plus, my elderly parents have no trouble getting in and out of the seats. When I'm working at the nonprofit clothing closet, the hanging space for a full rack of clothes makes everything so much easier. And in Michigan winters, the traction control feature keeps me safe on the road. Even my large dog loves riding in it when we fold down the 3rd row seating. And with the sport suspension, driving this van is actually fun! It's also surprisingly easy to maneuver into tight parking spots.

Bought new in March 2000 - now at 44000 miles. We had to buy a minivan when our family grew from 4 to 6 in one shot. Although we were hesitant about getting a minivan, the Pontiac has completely won us over. It drives and handles like a car and has plenty of power. The city mpg is a bit low at about 17, but on the freeway, it exceeds 25.

I appreciate the ride, comfort, and handling of the vehicle. However, I had some negative experiences with GM in the past, such as a broken fold-down cupholder, brakepad loss resulting in grinding of rotors in the second year of ownership (although GM did pay for it, it was out of warranty), erratic fuel sensor, service engine soon light, change oil light, and overhead displays, flickering lighting (including headlights), sludge in coolant, and air conditioner replacement at a cost of nearly $600 at 75,000 miles. Despite my concerns, the dealer and GM were not very helpful. However, I remain confident in my assessment of the vehicle's performance and will continue to monitor its oil usage closely.

Hello everyone, I wanted to share an update on my Montana vehicle. It's been 10 years since I got it and it has now clocked 176K miles. Despite some normal wear and tear, I'm happy to report that it has held up pretty well. However, I did have to deal with a few issues such as a head gasket replacement which cost around $1,500, a failed water pump, intermittent high engine revs that required a restart, a driver side sliding door that fell off due to a failed weld on the main bearing assembly, and some interior ceiling trim around the same door that fell off (held on by double-sided sticky tape). Overall, I'm still satisfied with my Montana and hope it continues to serve me well. Thank you for reading!

I have owned over 40 cars and for the last 27 years, I have always had at least one GM product, mostly Pontiacs. Unfortunately, my recent experience with GM has been disappointing. I have encountered issues such as intake manifold leaks, poor transmission, brake problems, power door problems, and more. The service and response I received were also unsatisfactory. I contacted Pontiac, but they were unable to provide the level of customer service I expected. I hope that GM will improve their cars and customer service to prevent further loss of market share.

I bought my Montana brand new in 2000. It has a lot of features and is definitely the most attractive van on the market. It has decent power for a van. The interior quality is okay, although there is a lot of plastic. Unfortunately, the cupholders are not very useful, the rear hatch handle broke off at 20,000 miles, the power side door sensors are intermittent (which causes the door ajar message to display frequently), there are electronic overhead display problems, the fuel gauge becomes erratic at 1/4 full, and now I need intake manifold gaskets ($750). There are too many negatives for me to consider buying another one of these vehicles.

We recently purchased this van to replace our old Chevrolet Astro. Unfortunately, we experienced some issues with the check engine light coming on the first day we had it. Since then, we've had some trouble with the transmission and oxygen sensors, among other things. Additionally, we've found that the cup holders don't work very well and the interior could be better designed. We also find the bright red dash display to be a bit annoying. It would have been nice if it were blue. Lastly, we've found that the seats need to be manually reclined, which can be a bit inconvenient. Overall, we've had some challenges with this van, but we're hopeful that things will improve with time.

My wife and I purchased this vehicle used when it was 3 years old with 34,000 miles. We were initially impressed with the bells and whistles that the vehicle came equipped with, and it drives, rides and handles like a dream. However, we have had some issues with the design and build quality of this van. We believe that this vehicle should have been recalled early on, and we are disappointed that it has not been. We feel that this speaks volumes about GM's attitude toward customer satisfaction. If you have ever wondered why Japanese car companies are doing so well compared to American auto makers, this vehicle is a prime example. We have had to pay $1500 for repairs every 2-6 months when yet another system or component fails, which is frustrating. Despite these issues, we still enjoy driving the vehicle and appreciate its features.
