I HAVE COMPLIED, TRIED TO NOT PARK VEHICLE IN GARAGE (EVEN THOUGH AGAINST TENANTS/CC'S OF HOA). GM SENT LETTER IN FEBRUARY SAYING PARTS WERE AVAILABLE, REPAIR WOULD TAKE APPROXIMATELY 55 MINUTES AND TO CONTACT A GMC DEALERSHIP TO HAVE REPAIRS MADE. TODAY THEY SAY NO REPAIRS WHATSOEVER ACROSS THE ENTIRE NATION HAVE NOT BEEN MADE BECAUSE REPAIR PARTS NOT AVAILABLE. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued 8 recalls for different components of the 1998 Pontiac Grand prix.

- Summary: General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain model year 1998-1999 Chevrolet Lumina and Oldsmobile Intrigue, 1997-2004 Buick Regal and Pontiac Grand Prix, 2000-2004 Chevrolet Impala, and 1998-2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo vehicles. The affected vehicles were previously repaired under recalls 08V-118, 09V-116, and 15V-201 to address the possibility that engine oil may drip onto the hot exhaust manifold.
- Consequence: Engine oil that drips onto the hot surface of the exhaust manifold may result in a fire.
- Remedy: The remedy applied under recalls 08V-118, 09V-116, and 15V-201 did not adequately remove the safety risk. Under the improved remedy, dealers will replace the engines front valve cover and gasket. Vehicles that are covered by recalls 08V-118, 09V-116, or 15V-201 that have not yet received the original remedy will instead receive the improved remedy under the original recall number. The recall began on February 19, 2016. Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at 1-800-222-1020, Buick customer service at 1-800-521-7300, Oldsmobile customer service at 1-800-442-6537 and Pontiac customer service at 1-800-458-8006. GM's number for this recall is 15757. - Consequence: IF THIS OCCURS, THE PINION SHAFT CAN BE FORCED UPWARD DURING LEFT TURNS AND BACK DOWN AS THE STEERING WHEEL IS MOVED BACK AND TO THE RIGHT. IF THE PINION SHAFT MOVES FURTHER, THE DRIVER WILL NEED TO EXERT MORE EFFORT TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL, SIMILAR TO A VEHICLE WITHOUT POWER ASSISTED STEERING. This car is definitely worth your money! When I was deciding between an iroc-z Camaro and the Grand Prix GTP, I ultimately chose the Grand Prix and I'm so glad I did. It has everything a car buyer could want: quick acceleration, good gas mileage, easy maintenance, luxurious features like leather heated seats and premium sound, comfortable and supportive seats and interior, and great safety ratings. It's a reliable car too - my Grand Prix has 133,000 miles on it and has never let me down. It comfortably fits five people with plenty of leg and head room. The overdrive works great on the highway and the passing power is amazing. If you ever come across a Grand Prix, I highly recommend buying one!

This was actually my first new car, well sort of. It was a 2-year lease with around 16,000 miles on it. Now, my car has over 148,000 miles on it and I have never had to do any major repairs. Just regular oil changes, brakes, and a few old coolant hoses (after 11 years, the rubber starts to crack and rot). I did have to replace the O2 sensors at 120,000 miles, but that's about it. Considering its 3000-pound weight and its punchy 3800 II V6, it gets good MPG. It's so much fun constantly blowing the doors off of other V6 cars like the Ford Mustang and Honda Accord, and I get about 19-23 MPG in the city depending on if I'm driving in stop-and-go traffic or not. On the highway, I get between 27-32 MPG, depending on how fast I'm going. At 70mph, I get 31-32 MPG, and at 90mph, I get 26-27 MPG. The stock brakes are amazing!

The Grand Prix GTP is a fantastic all-around vehicle that combines the best qualities of luxury, sports, family, and flat-out muscle cars. The 3800 Series 2 supercharged V6 is a proven performer with plenty of torque and horsepower all the way up to its 6,000 RPM redline.

Overall, this has been a great car! It's super comfortable and really fun to drive. I did have to replace the alternator and water pump at around 100,000 miles, and I've also had to replace two driver power window switches, but other than that, I've had no major issues. I'm definitely planning on buying another Pontiac when it's time to get rid of this one!

Hi there! I hope you're doing well. I wanted to share my experience with my car. When I bought it, it had around 90,000 miles on it and I knew it might need a few repairs. Over the past year, I've had to replace a few things like the transmission, oil pan, 2 alternators, 2 batteries, power steering pump, alternator belt, and a few other smaller parts. I've spent roughly $5,000 on parts and labor. I've noticed that the charging system seems to be a bit faulty, so I'm not sure how reliable it is. In my opinion, Pontiac should consider increasing their factory warranty because their cars don't seem to hold up after the three years are up. However, I still think the Grand Prix is a great car, but unfortunately, the one I bought turned out to be a lemon. Just a heads up, you might want to consider purchasing the extended warranty. Additionally, it is quite economical to run, providing good miles per gallon on regular gas. You've had a bit of bad luck with your car, haven't you? It's a shame that you've had to spend close to $2,000 in repairs already, especially since you've only driven it for 20k miles. On the bright side, when the car is running, you like the smooth ride, decent power, and roomy comfortable interior. The sound system is also good, which is a plus. However, it's understandable that you're disappointed with the cheap plastic parts that make up the interior and the frequent breakdowns.
