2021 Nissan Titan problems
The Nissan Titan is a full-size pickup truck manufactured in the United States for the North American market by Nissan. It was named after the Titans of Greek mythology.
First generation (A60; 2003)
Development of the Titan began in September 1999, with design work under Diane Allen. Giovanny Arroba's TA60 exterior was chosen in late 2000, with a final production freeze in July 2001. The design language of the future truck was previewed by the 2001 Alpha T concept shown at the 2001 North American International Auto Show, which had previously developed through November 2000.
Production began on September 21, 2003, and sales on December 1, 2003. The Titan used Nissan's new full-size F-Alpha platform. This new platform was shared with the Nissan Armada and Infiniti QX56 SUVs, with all three manufactured in Canton, Mississippi, United States. The first generation Titan continued without a major redesign through 2015.

- Summary: Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2020-2023 Titan, 2020-2022 Frontier, and 2023 Z vehicles. The transmission parking pawl may not engage when the vehicle is shifted into park, which can result in a vehicle rollaway.
- Consequence: A vehicle rollaway increases the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: Owners are advised to apply the parking brake every time they park their vehicle. Dealers will perform the applicable repairs below, free of charge: Model Year 2020-2022 Frontier vehicles: reprogram Transmission Control Module (TCM) Model Year 2020-2022 Titan vehicles: reprogram TCM and Engine Control Module (ECM) Model Year 2023 Titan vehicles: reprogram TCM Model Year 2023 Z vehicles: reprogram TCM. - Summary: Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain 2019-2020 Altima and 2018-2021 Titan vehicles equipped with Continental tires. On the affected vehicles, it is possible that one or more tires were cured for too long during tire production.
- Consequence: Over cured tires may develop a break in the sidewall, resulting in sudden air loss or belt edge separation which could lead to tread/belt loss. Either condition can cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.
- Remedy: Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the tires, and replace them as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on May 11, 2021. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-867-7669. Nissan's number for this recall is PC798.

I spent two years test driving trucks before making a decision. I have now owned the Titan for about a year and I couldn't be happier. Coming from the Ford Expedition, I really tried to like the new F150. However, I had to spend 70-80K to get what I wanted and the value just wasn't there. Then I discovered the Titan, which offers a better ride and more comfort for 10-15K less. I also considered the Ram, but I wasn't confident in its reliability. Although I had to give up a trick tailgate, the Titan step that folds easily under the bumper is a great alternative. I use the Titan boxes all the time to store gear for towing and boating. As a family of four with two smaller dogs and a 20' boat, we frequently travel long distances. The towing capability of the Titan is excellent, and everyone is very comfortable. It may seem like the spec wars and marketing favour other truck brands, but I am extremely happy with my choice.

I bought my 2004 car brand new and I absolutely loved it! The look and style, ride, comfort and handling were all fantastic. Even after driving it for 238,888 miles, the motor and transmission are still in great condition. However, I recently started spending more on expected repairs and realized that it had too many miles to pull my RV long distance. So, I decided to buy the 2021 model. While I do like the gas mileage, the premium is quite expensive. But, the additional power makes it worth it. Although, I must say that the agility was better in the 2004 model and the transmission was much smoother. I'm not too crazy about the clunky gears, but I've been told it's memory related. It has gotten much better with 8k miles though. The car has some nice accessories and provides an excellent ride. It tows my RV well and I absolutely love the camera technology. However, the GPS is terrible and I prefer to use Google Maps instead. I must say that I really appreciate how well the dealer has always taken care of me. If the transmission smooths out, I'll be much happier and relaxed.

I own a Nissan Titan Pro4X, which is a great looking truck. However, I have noticed that it can be a bit laggy when it comes to takeoff power and switching gears, such as downshifting to pass someone or taking off from a light. Additionally, I have found that the infotainment system leaves much to be desired. The maps are not very accurate and the software seems outdated. It also struggles to connect with phones and the voice commands are not very responsive. Despite these issues, I still believe that this truck has a lot of potential. I have had some trouble with the cameras, but overall they work well. While there have been some noises coming from different parts of the truck, I have been able to address them. I think that Nissan could have a great truck if they focused on improving these areas.

The 2021 Titan SV truck runs and handles great. However, there is an issue with mold buildup in the two tracks on the top. Despite having them cleaned and painted by the dealer, the repair is turning yellow and the mold is building up again. It is worth noting that I do not park under or near any trees, but rather in my driveway or in the parking lot at work. While the mold is unsightly, I am confident that a solution can be found to address this issue.
