1992 Cadillac Eldorado problems
The Cadillac Eldorado is a luxury car manufactured and marketed by Cadillac from 1952 until 2002 over twelve generations.
The Eldorado was at or near the top of the Cadillac line. The original 1953 Eldorado convertible and the Eldorado Brougham models of 1957–1960 had distinct bodyshells and were the most expensive models that Cadillac offered those years. The Eldorado was never less than second in price after the Cadillac Series 75 limousine until 1966. Starting in 1967 the Eldorado retained its premium position in the Cadillac price structure, but was manufactured in high volumes on a unique, two-door personal luxury car platform.
The Eldorado carried the Fleetwood designation from 1965 through 1972, and was a modern revival of the pre-war Cadillac V-12 and Cadillac V-16 roadsters and convertibles.

I've been driving my Eldorado (with 64,000 miles) for over 2 months now and it's been a lot of fun! I like the Eldorado so much that I just purchased another one for my son. He wants mine, but I'll be keeping the new one (which only has 57,000 miles). The prices of '92 Eldorados are going down, so it's the perfect time to buy one while they last!

You've driven over 30,000 miles on the west coast and it's great to hear that you really enjoy driving this car! It's wonderful that it makes you smile and even laugh every time you walk up to it. I completely agree that it has a great streamlined look and is the only car that looks like it's moving when it's sitting still. It's so sexy and elegant! Although you've had some issues with the drivers window motor and some electrical weirdness, it's great to hear that you're still keeping it for now. Thank you for sharing your experience with us!

I'm so glad to hear that you've had such a positive experience with your car! It sounds like it's been a reliable and comfortable ride for you, even with the high mileage. While the fuel economy may not be the best, it's great to hear that the engine has held up so well. And the fact that the original a/c still works perfectly is a testament to the car's build quality. Thank you for sharing your recommendation - I'm sure it will be helpful to anyone in the market for a new car!

This car is amazing! It has a unique design that makes it look like it's in motion even when it's standing still. Despite being 11 years old, it looks fantastic, especially after being fixed up by a Cadillac dealer. Driving it is an absolute pleasure - it's incredibly responsive and handles like a dream. As soon as I saw the first model, I knew I had to own one. It's definitely a touring coupe worth having!

You're in for a treat with this car! We purchased it when it was already 10 years old and had 100,000 miles on it, but it's still going strong. We did have to replace the brakes, but that's to be expected with any car. The front brakes were giving a high-pitched squeak warning, but we took care of that. We've had a few minor issues with some broken plastic on the interior, like the garage door opener slot and some of the dashboard AC vents, but nothing major. We did have to replace the catalytic converter, but that's not surprising given the age of the car. Overall, it's been a great ride!

This car has a stunning exterior, but unfortunately, the mechanical components have not lived up to expectations. As an engineer myself, I was disappointed to find that the engineering was not up to par. Despite this, I had high hopes for the ultimate American automotive experience. However, in my experience, I have had to replace 3 alternators, 4 water pumps, at least 5 serpentine belts, one catalytic converter, and have had numerous issues passing smog tests. Additionally, the driver's side window and mirror do not function properly, and the Bose sound system crackles. Recently, the heater has also stopped working. While it may not be the most reliable car I have owned, it certainly is the most visually appealing.

Since purchasing this car, I have experienced multiple issues such as the ABS, A/C, brakes, and catalytic converter failing, as well as poor radio reception. Despite the dealer's inability to fix the radio, I am confident that Cadillac will stand behind me after my complaint. Although there were additional problems, each repair cost between $200-500.

The designers of the 1992 Cadillac Eldorado had a vision ahead of their time. The crisp, rectangular styling of the rear end is now being adopted by manufacturers such as BMW and Daimler-Chrysler. When inside the car, drivers and passengers alike will mistake it for a much newer model. The Eldorado's classy yet aggressive styling is borrowed from the Pininfarina-designed Allante. While the car's mechanical dependability is average to below average, it's worth noting that there are some issues with the transmission and air ride suspension. However, I believe that these are a fair trade-off for the car's style and comfort.
