2007 Nissan Titan problems
The Nissan Titan is a full-size pickup truck manufactured in the United States for the North American market by Nissan. It was named after the Titans of Greek mythology.
First generation (A60; 2003)
Development of the Titan began in September 1999, with design work under Diane Allen. Giovanny Arroba's TA60 exterior was chosen in late 2000, with a final production freeze in July 2001. The design language of the future truck was previewed by the 2001 Alpha T concept shown at the 2001 North American International Auto Show, which had previously developed through November 2000.
Production began on September 21, 2003, and sales on December 1, 2003. The Titan used Nissan's new full-size F-Alpha platform. This new platform was shared with the Nissan Armada and Infiniti QX56 SUVs, with all three manufactured in Canton, Mississippi, United States. The first generation Titan continued without a major redesign through 2015.

NHTSA has received complaints about the instrument panel fuel gauge inaccurately displaying the amount of fuel in the tank, which can lead to unexpected fuel shortages and safety concerns during driving.
- Transmission cooler failure: The radiator in the 2007 Nissan Titan has a built-in transmission cooler. If this internal cooler fails, it can cause the transmission fluid and radiator fluid to mix, potentially leading to catastrophic transmission failure. To prevent this issue, a new radiator or an external transmission cooler can be installed to bypass the internal one .
- Rear axle weakness: The rear axles of the 2007 Nissan Titan have been reported to be weak, especially when towing heavy loads or shifting into reverse in 4x4 mode. This can lead to differential failure, which requires replacement with a factory item or a true track differential .
- Interior trim issues: The interior trim of the 2007 Nissan Titan has been reported to fade or peel, and the seat bottoms can become damaged or ripped. The plastic materials in the dashboard can also become chipped or peel off, leading to cosmetic issues that can affect the overall appearance and value of the vehicle .
These common problems with the 2007 Nissan Titan can lead to inconvenience, additional costs, and safety concerns for owners. It is essential to address these issues promptly to ensure the vehicle's reliability, safety, and longevity.

POWER TRAIN PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2023-02-23
- VIN: 1N6AA07BX7N
- Components: POWER TRAIN
- Summary: The rear differential and axle has an inevitable failure with no warning lights or much anything else besides some possible noises! The vent designs are terrible it causes overheating and internal turmoil over time seals start leaking, bearings and internal gears Get weak from over hot /cold repeated cycles allowing moisture to build and accumulate in the 3rd member where it’s supposed to be completely sealed and dry other then gear oil to lube and maintain proper function. My personal and current experience is I’m without my truck, missing work and very . Very thankful that it didn’t lock up on the highway/freeway that I drive too and from work about 85 miles daily! The best part is there’s no fast cost efficient resolution! the differential open carrier with spider gears held in place by a shaft pin and tiny 8 mm bolt that broke causing the pin to slide back and forth (pinball effect) into the ring /pinion, side gears, spider gears untill it either gets jammed in the gears and instantly locks up or slowly fractures away untill gears held by nothing, collide causing catastrophic failure! I Happened to notice the inside of rear wheel wet because when I was exiting the highway I heard a faint sound almost like a bolt or rock or something hit underneath the truck so I took a glance at everything and noticed that wheel grease soaked and a little fluid on the bottom of transfer case.. long story short I drove it approximately 1 mile to a shop there it still sits needing complete different axle and differential or a whole new carrier and all bearings/seals spacers possibly axle shaft don’t know yet and dealership can not get any parts for it!! The parts are obsolete! None! Don’t sell them, don’t make them….. they recommend and can only replace whole unit around 3-5k thousands of dollars I wish I had!! All of the research I’ve done tells me this is a HUGE problem! Theres hundreds of thousands of people that this has happened too! Asking why isn’t there a recall??!

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,EXTERIOR LIGHTING,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2019-02-08
- VIN: 1N6BA07B97N
- Components: ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,EXTERIOR LIGHTING,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
- Summary: 2007 TITAN LE 4WD, WITH 72,000 MILES. IN DEC 2018 MY RIGHT TURN SIGNAL INDICATOR WOULD FLASH ONCE AND QUIT WHILE DRIVING BUT ISSUE IS REPLICATED DRIVING OR STATIONARY, ENGINE ON OR OFF. I HAD THE CRUISE CONTROL ENGAGED AND HITTING THE RIGHT TURN SIGNAL TRIPPED IT OFF, AS IF I'D TAPPED THE BRAKES. A WEEK EARLIER, I STARTED HAVING INTERMITTENT ISSUES WITH MY BACKUP SONAR WARNING SYSTEM THEN COMPLETE FAILURE. LATER TROUBLESHOOTING THE TURN SIGNAL ISSUE, I REALIZED WHEN I HIT THE BRAKE, THE RIGHT FRONT TURN LAMP WOULD ILLUMINATE WHILE THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. I REALIZED IF I HELD OR RODE THE BRAKE PEDAL, THEN ENGAGED THE RIGHT TURN SIGNAL, THE RIGHT TURN LAMPS AND INDICATOR WORKED NORMAL, UNTIL I RELEASED THE BRAKE, THEN THE RIGHT TURN SIGNAL LAMPS WOULD QUIT. ALSO NOTICED THAT ALL CLEARANCE LAMPS, TAIL AND STOP LAMPS FLUCTUATED A LITTLE IN SYNC WITH THE TURN SIGNAL OPERATION. I REALIZE I'VE GOT AN ELECTRICAL SHORT. CHECKED WHAT I COULD AND COULD NOT FIND THE PROBLEM AND DECIDED TO TAKE IT TO MY CAR REPAIR GUYS. THIS MORNING, WHEN I STARTED IT FOR THE TRIP, I HAD WARNING LIGHTS ON FOR LOW TIRE PRESSURE (FLASHING, THEN STEADY, THEN FLASHING), ABS (STEADY) AND SLP (STEADY), AND SAID IT WAS IN 4WD WHEN THE DIAL WAS IN 2WD. NEVER HAD THAT HAPPEN BEFORE. AFTER 5 MILES THE 4WD INDICATOR WENT OFF AND THE 2/4WD GRAPHIC WAS BACK MY SHOP FOUND A MELTED WIRE BUNDLE ABOVE MY EXHAUST WHERE THE TAILPIPE EXITS THE MUFFLER. THEY SAY IT LOOKS LIKE A HEAT SHIELD IS EITHER MISSING OR THAT ONE SHOULD BE THERE. HOWEVER, THE MECHANIC SAYS IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AS SEVERAL KEY SYSTEMS WIRES PASS IN THAT BUNDLE THAT HAS INDICATIONS OF EXCESS HEAT AND MAY HAVE PARTIALLY MELTED WHICH COULD CREATE SHORTS THAT COULD MAKE OTHER VITAL SYSTEMS FAIL, OR CREATE A FIRE HAZARD. I'VE SEEN SEVERAL OTHER REPORTS OF SIMILAR ISSUES ONLINE. STILL IN THE PROCESS OF DIAGNOSING AND REPAIR.

I HAVE REPLACED THE SEALS THREE TIMES INCLUDING PURCHASING AND REPLACING THE ENTIRE AXLE SHAFT, SEAL AND SPACER ASSEMBLY ON THE THIRD TIME. THESE WERE 2 AXLE SHAFT ASSEMBLIES WHICH COST ME OVER $1000. I HAVE ALSO INSTALLED A BREATHER TUBE ON THE REAR AXLE AND INSURED IT IS ALLOWING AIR TO GET IN AND VENT THE REAR AXLE. IT'S BEEN A FEW MONTHS AFTER INSTALLATION AND THE SEALS ARE LEAKING AGAIN. MY REAR BRAKES AND PARKING BRAKE ARE SOAKED WITH OIL AND THE PARKING BRAKE NO LONGER HOLDS THE TRUCK IN PLACE WHEN PARKED ON A INCLINE/DECLINE.

THE REAR METAL BRAKE LINE CROSSOVER FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE TO THE DRIVER SIDE THAT IS ATTACHED TO THE REAR AXLE JUST ABOVE THE JACKPOT COVER RUPTURED. BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR EACH TIME IT WAS PRESSED WITHOUT HESITATION AND HAD NO BRAKING CONTROL AT ALL. BRAKE FLUID WAS EVERYWHERE UNDER THE TRUCK, ON THE DRIVE WHEELS, AND ON THE PAVEMENT CAUSING ITS OWN HAZARDOUS CONDITION ALONG WITH NO BRAKES. FORTUNATELY THIS HAPPENED IN MY DRIVEWAY AND NOT WHILE I TOW MY 10,000LB TRAILER DOWN THE HIGHWAY. THAT WOULD NOT HAVE ENDED PRETTY.
POWER TRAIN PROBLEM
- Date Of Incident: 2016-08-13
- VIN: 1N6BA07B87N
- Components: POWER TRAIN
- Summary: HAD TRANSMISSION SERVICED AND ABOUT 5000 MILES OR LESS LATER TRUCK STARTED HESITATING AND FINALLY STOPPED. INVESTIGATED AND FOUND TRANSMISSION FLUID AND ANTIFREEZE UNDER TRUCK. HAD TOWED TO NEAREST AMMCO STATION AND THEY DIAGNOSED PROBLEM AS ANTIFREEZE IN TRANSMISSION SMELLED BURNED AND SAID A COMPLETE RE-MANUFACTURED TRANSMISSION WAS RECOMMENDED SINCE ALL OF THE TRANSMISSION COMPONENTS HAD BEEN EXPOSED TO THE ANTI-FREEZE AND WERE BURNED OR OVERHEATED. TALKED WITH NISSAN OF GASTONIA NC. AND THEY STATED THEY COULD INSTALL A NEW RE-MANUFACTURED TRANSMISSION AND RADIATOR AND EXTERNAL AFTER MARKET TRANSMISSION FLUID COOLER FOR 5,100 DOLLARS WITH A 12 MONTH 12,000 MILE WARRANTY. THEY SAID THEY HAD A LARGE NUMBER OF FRONTIER, XTERRA, AND PATHFINDER PROBLEMS WITH THE INTERNAL TRANSMISSION COOLER INSIDE THE RADIATOR FAILING ALLOWING ANTI-FREEZE TO LEAK INTO THE TRANSMISSION AND DESTROYING IT. THEY SAID THEY HAD NOT SEEN THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE TITANS ANS ARMADAS. THEY HAD A CAMPAIGN TO HELP OWNERS OF THE OTHER MODELS BUT NOT THE TITANS OR ARMADAS. THE SERVICE MANAGER FOR NISSAN OF GASTONIA SAID THEY COULD LOOK AT MY TRUCK BUT THERE WOULD BE A DIAGNOSE FEE IF I DIDN'T LET THEM DO THE WORK. THE SERVICE MANAGER AT AMMCO SAID HE WOULD MATCH NISSAN'S OFFER AND GIVE ME A 36 MONTH UNLIMITED MILEAGE WARRANTY COVERING PARTS AND LABOR, SO I WENT WITH AMMCO. THE SERVICE MANAGER AT AMMCO STATED HE HAD NUMEROUS TITAN AND ARMADA VEHICLES COME INTO HIS SHOP AS WELL AS THE OTHER MODELS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. THE INTERNAL TRANS/COOLER LETS ANTI-FREEZE LEAK INTO THE TRANSMISSION AND IT FRIES THEM. I JUST HAD MY TRANSMISSION SERVICED AND THE RADIATOR FLUSHED AND FILLED. MY 2007 TITAN ONLY HAS 65000 MILES ON IT, AND IF NISSAN KNEW THEY WERE HAVING PROBLEMS THEY COULD HAVE WARNED ME AND I WOULD HAVE HAD THE RADIATOR CHANGED OUT. THIS IS REALLY BAD BUSINESS IN MY OPINION.

Hey there! I just wanted to share my experience with my Titan. It's actually my first one, but I'm already in love with it! I have a 31 ft. camper and it tows it like a dream. It's taken away so much stress that I used to have while towing with my Chevy Silverado 1500. Don't get me wrong, the Chevy was a good truck, but it just can't compare to my Titan! This truck has all the get up and go that I need, it's super fast but also has all the pulling power I need, all in the same vehicle. And let's talk about comfort - this truck handles and rides better than any SUV I've ever owned. I wouldn't hesitate to take it cross country! Plus, it's easier to clean and maintain than most cars I've owned, except for when I'm trying to reach across the cabin when washing. The only thing I wish I had was the Bose stereo like my Pathfinder! Thanks for listening to my Titan love story.
-
I've owned my Titan for three years now and I absolutely love it. As someone who has owned many cars, including a previous truck, I have been pleasantly surprised by how reliable my Titan has been. With almost 60k miles on it, I haven't had a single issue. This is in stark contrast to the American-made cars and trucks I've owned in the past, which were always in the shop. I just wanted to share how great my 2007 Titan has been over the years and highly recommend it to anyone in the market for a used truck.
-
This truck is amazing! It has been 10 years and 165000 miles and all I have had to replace are the battery, tires, brakes, and belt. While it may not have the best mileage, it still outperforms its true competition, the 3/4 ton series.
-
The 07 Titan is an amazing truck at a fair price. The LE model has many useful features, and the engine and transmission are reliable and powerful. Although the gas mileage could be better, it's important to remember that it's a truck, not a hybrid! The Utili-Trac system is very useful, and the cabin space is abundant and well thought out, as is the instrument panel on the dash and the controls on the steering wheel. I previously owned a Tundra, and I must say that the Titan is a much better vehicle in almost all phases. In fact, the reliability of my Titan has already surpassed that of my Tundra. If you're in the market for a great-looking truck with plenty of comfort, room, and power, look no further than the Titan LE.
-
This is a fantastic daily driver that can also double as a weekend toy hauler. The power is seemingly endless and the exterior looks great, while the interior is highly functional. Despite the cab being almost as big as my previous F250 crew truck, it is much easier to drive. I have seen some complaints about the cloth interior, but it met my expectations. I can't complain about the fuel economy either, as I get around 15 mpg on a mixed cycle (60% highway, 40% city). Although it is tempting to use the gas pedal for fun!

'07 Extended Cab 4x4 OR package. Firstly, I want to mention that the paint on these trucks may not be the best quality as it can sometimes appear to have an orange peel texture and the clear coat may scratch easily. Additionally, some of these trucks may experience issues with the rear end axle seal leaking, which was the case with my own truck. However, despite these minor setbacks, I still love this truck! It has amazing power and looks fantastic when lifted. With some tasteful modifications, this truck can really stand out from the crowd. The engine/drivetrain is one of the best out there, and overall, I believe this is a great truck that is definitely worth considering.

Hey there! I'm glad to hear that the truck is running great and has lots of power. It's also great to know that it handles well for a truck!

Although I initially thought my truck was a good purchase, I have since experienced numerous issues with the transmission, brakes, and dash lights. The gas mileage is also disappointing. In comparison, my friend's 5.7L Tundra has more power and better fuel efficiency, and when we tow our 4-wheelers, he outperforms me. However, I am confident that I can find a solution to these problems and improve the performance of my truck.

Hey there! I absolutely adore my Titan, but I have been experiencing some discomfort lately. The service advisers at the dealership are fantastic, but unfortunately, they have been unable to figure out why my radiator keeps failing. I am currently on my third one! It seems like the radiator design could be improved, but as long as it remains under the extended warranty, I'll keep bringing it in. I truly believe that this truck has amazing potential.

I test drove the Toyota Tundra 07, Ford F150, and Nissan Titan. Out of the three, I liked the Toyota Tundra the most. However, I ended up going for the Nissan Titan due to the price difference of almost $7000. Looking back, I regret not choosing the Tundra as the ride in the Nissan is quite bumpy and feels like riding on a horse cart. The MPG is also not as advertised, as I only get 13 mpg. While the body shape is good, the front bench seat is not suitable for long trips as it can only accommodate a child less than 8 years old. Unfortunately, traffic rules do not allow a child less than 18 to be a front passenger. Overall, I wish I had gone for the Tundra, but I am still satisfied with my purchase given the price difference.
